About Last Night… ONCE UPON A TIME, DEXTER, HOMELAND and More

December 12, 2011 by

While most shows may have wrapped up their 2011 run, so many of our favorite Sunday night shows still had brand new offerings for us.

Let’s talk last night’s TV!

It’s no secret I adore ONCE UPON A TIME, but, wow, I so disagree with how ABC handled the promotion of the death in last night’s episode. I’m guessing most fans of the show who come online knew there was a death coming, but by the network making such a huge deal of it occurring in last night’s episode, it ruined the narrative for me. Instead of enjoying the Sheriff’s backstory, I spent nearly the entire episode just waiting for the Mayor to destroy his heart on our side. Anyone else find their experience of watching the hour ruined a bit because of the promos?

One of the fun things about THE SIMPSONS is that they have the luxury of playing with time like they did in their flashforward episode last night. I don’t think it was my favorite jump they’ve done, but it was perfectly acceptable.

I feel like I may have missed a good portions of the jokes on last night’s episode of THE CLEVELAND SHOW because I’ve never seen DIE HARD, but I still enjoyed it. To those of you who have seen the movie, did you enjoy it? And just how many jokes/references did I miss?

DEXTER, don’t go there. Seriously. I understand Deb and Dexter aren’t biologically related, but they were raised as siblings. I’m a little worried that since this is being brought up so late in the season, the show plans to delve into this more fully next season. No. Veto. I didn’t like what BROTHERS & SISTERS did with Justin and Rebecca and this is a whole other level of nasty.

HOMELAND‘s penultimate episode was absolutely chilling. Brody trying on the explosive vest was absolutely terrifying. I so don’t want this season to end with him blowing up. And that final scene? Just heartbreaking. Carrie had finally gotten the break she needed — albeit, when she was in a manic state — and then she made a “bad gut” move and called Brody, who promptly alerted her bosses something was wrong with her. Claire Danes was magnificent as Carrie broke down, but her finest moment of the season might have been her breakdown as her timeline wall was torn down.

I haven’t had the chance to watch LEVERAGE or the BAG OF BONES miniseries yet…anyone watch those?

RIP Sexy Irish Sheriff…watching “Once Upon a Time” without you just won’t be the same!

Also, “The Good Wife” had some interesting storytelling techniques last night and one major twist that will effect the rest of this season.

Have not had a chance to watch ONce Upon A Time, But WOW, what an episode of HOMELAND. Next weeks finale looks amazing. I really don’t want the season to end. CD was amazing and I just love Damian Lewis. I so don’t want him to be bad.

Claire Danes performance is deserving of an Emmy (at least a nomination)
