It’s all come down to this — they’ve survived months of auditions, heading to the judges’ homes, live performance shows and the crazy Simon-L.A. feud. And with a $5 million dollar prize and a Pepsi commercial on the line, it was a very big night for Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik and Chris Rene.

So who took home the top prize?

THE X FACTOR host Steve Jones first had to eliminate one contestant and poor Chris Rene was revealed to have come in third.

With it down to Melanie and Josh, Jones announced that Melanie — who was initially cut from the competition by her mentor, Simon — had taken home the big prize.
