SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE Says Goodbye to Kristen Wiig [Video]
May 20, 2012 by Kath Skerry
Filed under Saturday Night Live, SNL
Last night SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE said farewell to one of the most talented ladies to every be part of the show (and that’s saying a lot given its alumni). After seven years with the show, Kristen Wiig said goodbye to the late night sketch comedy show.
Her final moments were incredibly touching as she shared a small dance with each of the cast members as they all tearfully said their goodbyes. The full SNL ensemble, and many notable alums including Amy Poehler, Rachel Dratch and Chris Kattan joined host Mick Jaggar in a chorus of Ruby Tuesday as the credits started to roll.
I’m sure that I’m not the only one who was a crying mess last night.
If you missed Kristen Wiig’s goodbye, watch the extended version here.
So what’s next for Wiig? Building on the mega-success of “Bridesmaids”, Kristen is slated for a whole slew of movies coming out this year and 2013. Later this year Wiig will be seen in “Imogene” alongside Annette Bening and GLEE’s Darren Criss. Other upcoming co-stars include Ben Stiller, Sean Penn, Shirley MacLaine, Adam Scott, Paul Rudd, Robert DeNiro and countless others. Pretty sure Wiig isn’t going to be an SNL alum that quietly fades away. We can’t wait to see what she’s up to next.
Congratulations Kristen and thank you!

With all the rumors and speculation going around about how the heck SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE’s ninth season will work now that Fox has trimmed the show’s airtime to one night a week, judge/executive producer Nigel Lythgoe cleared up how the new season will work during a conference call on Friday.
“The first week of [the live shows], nobody will be going home from the top 18 or 20, whatever we’re doing — we still haven’t decided yet to be honest with you,” Lythgoe told reporters. “And that will include a group number and all of their solos, the first week of the live shows and then America will vote.”
And yes, the rumors are true, there will be two winners of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE this season, which will add a whole new layer to voting this season.

HOUSE: David Shore on the Pressure Put on Series Finales, When He Decided How His Show Would End and More

No matter how or when a show ends, there’s often an additional importance placed by viewers on that final installment. And when I spoke with HOUSE creator David Shore, he expressed some discomfort over the emphasis that gets placed on how a show closes out its run versus the merits of the series as a whole. (To be fair, when you title the final hour of your series “Everybody Dies,” expectations are understandably built-in.)
Take a look at what he had to say about the pressures placed on series finales, when he decided how HOUSE was going to end, and more…
