About Last Night… ONCE UPON A TIME, THE CLEVELAND SHOW, GCB and More

April 30, 2012 by

Sunday TV is shaping up to be one of the busiest nights of the week, but I still feel like I’m playing hooky by skipping some of the more “buzzworthy” shows. Is it bad I enjoy my nerdy shows more?

So with that, let’s talk about what happened last night…

The Stranger’s identity was finally revealed on ONCE UPON A TIME! I love that August is Pinocchio, and I love what him having his memories does for the show. I’m curious how this season is going to end, given that it seems more and more likely that most (if not all) of the town will be on to the curse. How will that impact season 2? And was I the only one having major THE X-FILES  flashbacks during the Emma/August fight? All he wanted was for her to believe something extraordinary, and despite a bit (albeit not too much) evidence, she just couldn’t bring herself to go there. (I didn’t watch OUAT on HD last night, so did anyone see if that airplane that was shown was Oceanic?)

BOB’S BURGERS was that fun mix of absolutely awkward uncomfortableness and just ridiculously funny last night. Bob having to deal with his sister-in-law hitting on him at every turn after he accidentally made out with her (which on drugs post-dental procedure) was so. painfully. funny.

It’s always weird when Stewie has a “love interest” on FAMILY GUY, but having a girl who was his equal (or better) in every way possible was amusing. Of course it couldn’t work out between them, but it was amusing while it lasted. And that Meg joke at the end? Made me laugh out loud.

One of the things that delights me the most on THE CLEVELAND SHOW is when these characters sing. I know it’s not a traditional singing show, but few things amuse me more. And for as big a deal that was made about Darren Criss and Fergie guest-starring, I liked that it didn’t feel forced or unnatural. A fun episode.

GCB felt a little filler to me (which was bizarre, given that next week is the season finale), but it was still enjoyable. However, I am glad the girls beat the boys in the BBQ-off.

I know, I know, I missed DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. I’ll be watching it either late tonight or tomorrow morning.

Enough from me…what did you watch?
