I dont know whether its loyalty to the show or what but i think it’s disingenuous not to have Fringe on that list. It was an almighty mess this season. A shadow of its former self. The normally dedicated showrunners were working on other projects and in my opinion this affected the quality of season 4. It was pure garbage. In fact, in some episodes there was a repetition of dialogue and/or scenarios which made it seem like the writers of one episode had no clue as to what the writers of the next episode were doing. Peter’s back and forth on Olivia was tedious, a patronizing red herring and David Robert Jones was a massive anti-climax. William Bell- cool character in the earlier seasons but bringing him back again with a storyline that seemed to pretend that it was always intended since season one was fooling no one. I still can’t believe that was the story they felt they HAD to tell this season. No thanks.

@ollie: People did vote for FRINGE in the pre-nominations, but it just missed the cut to get to this round. It’s possible goodwill from season 3 (or contentness with the later episodes?) made it so people chose to give their votes elsewhere? (I obviously can’t speak for the people who voted, and my involvement in the nominations was merely tabulating the votes.)

I don’t know how you can not vote for “The Office” in this catagory! I mean Castle and HIMYM didn’t have stellar seasons and we all know how Glee rolls but The Office without Michael Scott was just horrible!!!!

I can’t choose glee for the simple fact that Matt Bomer was on it.

I was expecting to see SMASH winning this poll.. by the largest margin ever.

Sorry “Bones”, but what can I say? You were sorry this year.

  7. AJ on June 21st, 2012 10:56 am

Bones will be your winner on this poll…………ought to be.
Moonlight curse is alive and well.

The treatment of the queer characters, racial minorities, and women on Glee was appalling. Offensive story lines about being outed, suicide, spousal abuse that were treated irresponsibly and used to boost ratings. Way, way too much focus on Finchel, who have a boring and unhealthy relationship.

Why is Castle on this list? This season was the best, not to mention Always where Castle and Beckett got together.

I voted Bones. Glee was definitely worse but not disappointing, we’re kinda used to these boring storylines with that show.

I was deeply disappointed with Glee. They’ve got such an amazing cast, but they’ve handled some very complicated issues very poorly. I used to love that show.

Can’t vote for anything other than The Office. After such a stellar send-off season last year for Steve Carell and then seeing him get ROBBED of his Emmy..it was just like the writers said “Screw this! Why even try?” There were a few cute moments, but not nearly enough. I’d have rather seen Maura Tierney stay on the show..I’ll watch her read the phone book. Even the dedicated podcast, “That’s What She Said” who have been podcasting about The Office since season 2 (or 3?) quit their podcast! I think they got tired of recording themselves just complaining all the time.
