Kevin Reilly on Renewing FRINGE for a Final Season and When it Will End

July 23, 2012 by

For FRINGE fans, the end of the series has just gotten a little bit more real — we’ve nailed down the month the show will conclude.

“There’s probably going to be a few interruptions, but not many,” Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment at Fox Broadcasting, told reporters after his Television Critics Association executive session panel in response to my question about whether the sci-fi series would run straight through for its last year. “Just the holidays [will be off]. [The series] will end in January.”

And yes, much like FRINGE executive producer J.H. Wyman said after Comic-Con, Reilly really was impressed by that fantastic season 5 trailer.

“It was an easy decision before I even saw that [trailer],” Reilly said. “Creatively I knew they would deliver, we just had to work out a business deal. And we did.”

FRINGE returns for its final season Friday, September 28th at 9 PM on Fox.
