The CW at TCA: Mark Pedowitz on GOSSIP GIRL’s Final Season

July 30, 2012 by

With GOSSIP GIRL about to embark upon its final season, there are a ton of questions up in the air: will Blair and Chuck have a happily ever after? Will Serena find love with Steven Spence (Barry Watson)? Will Gossip Girl be unmasked?

Alas, we’ll have to wait until the season kicks off in October, but we do have a couple concrete answers for you about how many episodes the final season will consist of when the series will come to an end.

“We’ll run 10 episodes this season and end in mid-December,” Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW, told reporters during his executive session at the Television Critics Association.

Pedowitz emphasized the importance of getting to say a proper goodbye to long-running shows that air on his network, saying that GOSSIP GIRL “deserves a proper sendoff from the network and for its fans.” He pointed to the farewell season of ONE TREE HILL last year as what they would hope to do for all of their established shows.

Are you happy to get 10 final episodes of GOSSIP GIRL?

I don’t understand why The CW Network had to cancel Gossip Girls
Gossip Girls isn’t the smallest programming show on the CW Network
Gossip Girls should’ve had a bigger audience if the show got renewed for season 7
