HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER Season 8 Finale: Watch the End of ‘Something New’!

[Warning: This story contains spoilers for the season 8 finale of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.]

For eight seasons HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER has teased the meeting of Ted and titular mother…but as it turned out, the viewers met her first.

The eighth season finale of HIMYM showed the Mother (played by Broadway’s Cristin Milioti) requesting a ticket to Farhampton — AKA the train station where Ted shared he made the fateful meeting — and carrying her signature yellow umbrella.

(Update: “It was a pretty big umbrella to fill, casting the title role in a series that’s been on the air for eight years,” said HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER co-creator Carter Bays. “And yet Cristin Milioti is, against all odds, exactly what we were looking for. She made us laugh on “30 Rock,” she made us swoon in “Once,” and her ukulele skills are no joke. We’re thrilled to welcome her to the HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER family, and look forward to getting to know her – and the character she plays – much better in the coming final season.  And to all the fans, on behalf of all of us writers, cast and crew: Thank you for sticking with us on this wild journey. Our ninth season will tell the epic story of the longest wedding weekend ever. We hope you like it. Next stop, Farhampton…”)

In case you missed it, you can check it out now….

Was the moment what you were hoping for?

As a humongous fan from day one, I must say, Bravo Carter, Bravo.

I absolutely love the way they introduced us to her. Her looks based on Lyndsey Fonseca’s character leave little to no doubt in my opinion.

If they are screwing with us, though, I’ll cut ’em. 🙂
