SUPERNATURAL star Misha Collins (Castiel) is taking on a new role for tonight’s episode: he’s making his television directing debut!

“The experience was wonderful,” SUPERNATURAL boss Jeremy Carver shared. “He did an absolutely wonderful job. He brought a wonderful sensitivity to the way he treated the actors, [and] the performances are wonderful.”

And while this is Collins’ first time behind the camera, fans shouldn’t expect the hour of SUPERNATURAL to feel different than any other episode.

“The best compliment he can be given, I think, is it feels like an episode of SUPERNATURAL,” Carver pointed out. “And that’s not the easiest thing in the world to do, especially for a first-timer. So everyone’s hats are off to him for bringing it home.”

SUPERNATURAL airs Tuesdays at 9 PM on The CW.

nice, go misha. now if only someone said what their intentions are abt misha & s10 would be nice. why it takes them so long to say something unless it has to do with the cliffhanger of the season & they plan to throw a stunt like s6-s7…

After seeing the episode, I can confirm that I totally agree with Jeremy that Misha did a wonderful job directing! I’m so proud of him and happy that he had that opportunity!

I am really, really hoping that he has another chance to direct SPN in Season 10, and even more so that we have a lot more of his character, Castiel, in Season 10! I miss seeing Cas on the show, and I miss seeing Cas with Dean and Sam even more! Really hoping that the rest of Season 9 and Season 10 give us many great Cas, Dean/Cas, Dean/Sam/Cas episodes to enjoy!
