On last week’s FAKING IT series premiere, best friends Amy (Rita Volk) and Karma (Katie Stevens) were mistaken for a lesbian couple…and went along with it, because it got them noticed at school for the first time.

Unfortunately for the duo, things aren’t going trouble-free: Karma is interested in a guy, Amy’s stepsister-to-be, Lauren, overheard the duo talk about faking their relationship, and after sharing a kiss with Karma, Amy realized she might actually have feelings for her best friend.

So where does the show go from here? I spoke with FAKING IT showrunner Carter Covington about what’s in store for season 1…

As CASTLE’s Castle and Beckett get closer to their wedding day, the final preparations are being made. And in this Monday’s new episode, “Law & Boarder,” Ryan and Esposito have a particular task in mind they want to claim ownership of.

“Esposito and Ryan are both vying to be best man for Castle’s wedding,” CASTLE star Seamus Dever (Ryan) laughed. “There’s this comedy of errors where Castle thinks we’re talking about something different, and he doesn’t catch on that they’re sucking up to him and trying to be his best buddy in like a really cloying, annoying way. We’re suddenly just on him, completely, and really competing with one another. So that’s a lot of fun. It’s always fun when Jon [Huertas (Esposito)] and I have to compete about something. We get digs in, and we give each other looks, and there’s lots of things at stake for Ryan and Esposito in that episode.”

And while Castle may be oblivious to what’s going on, Ryan and Esposito’s antics do catch the attention of Beckett.

Comments Off on SCANDAL: Columbus Short to Exit

SCANDAL will be down one Gladiator in season 4: Columbus Short (Harrison) has left the ABC drama.

“At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I’ve called home for 3 years, with what is the most talented ensemble on television today,” Short said in a statement to EW. “I would like to first thank [SCANDAL creator] Shonda Rhimes for the opportunity to work with such an amazing cast. Thank you GLADIATORS, who have supported me throughout my entire career and of course to ABC and Shondaland for allowing me to play such a pivotal role in the SCANDAL series. I have enjoyed every single minute of it. Everything must come to an end and unfortunately the time has come for Harrison Wright to exit the canvas. I wish nothing but the best for Shonda, Kerry and the rest of the cast, who have become like a second family to me in such a short amount of time. For this, I will forever be grateful.”

Are you sad to see Short go?

Comments Off on Seth Meyers to Host the 2014 Emmys

Seth Meyers has been named the 2014 Emmy host, NBC announced.

“Seth’s expertise and ease in front of a live audience during his time at ‘SNL,’ as well as his comedic brilliance both as a writer and in front of the camera on ‘SNL’ and ‘Late Night,’ makes him the perfect choice to host the Emmys,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Late Night and Alternative Programming, NBC Entertainment in a statement. “Plus, with Don’s vast experience at putting these type of big productions together, we’ll be in great hands.”

“Seth is such a talented performer and writer, and we know he will bring something unique to hosting the Primetime Emmy Awards,” said Bruce Rosenblum, Chairman and CEO of the Television Academy. “We are also excited to welcome Don back this year and very much look forward to their collaboration as we celebrate television’s biggest night during one of the most transformative years in Television Academy history.”

Comments Off on BAD TEACHER: Ari Graynor on Her New CBS Series

BAD TEACHER, the new CBS comedy loosely adapted from the 2011 Cameron Diaz film, is premiering tonight, and for series star Ari Graynor (Meredith), it’s not a moment too soon.

“I [originally] met with the creative team on Valentine’s Day in 2013,” Graynor said. “So it’s been over a year [of waiting]. And you make network television for the most number of people to see, and now, a year and two months later, people are just starting to see it. But the good and bad thing about being on CBS is that they’re doing so well, there’s little real estate on their schedule. But to be at Thursday night at 9:30 [on CBS] is a crazy dream.”

However, Graynor acknowledged that she didn’t exactly set out to do television.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’ Enzo has caused waves since he showed up on the show’s canvas, but when he finally gets a solid lead about what happened to his beloved Maggie, everything could change.

“Enzo takes matters into his own hands when he realizes the love of his life — who he’s been looking for forever — the person who killed her is supposedly the hero of the series,” THE VAMPIRE DIARIES executive producer Caroline Dries previewed.

As for what else is in store, I viewed the episode, and while there’s a lot we’re not allowed to say, I do have a few teases about what’s going down…
