UTOPIA’s season 1 cast has already undergone a change.

Andrea Cox — the “Christian who drops the f-bomb” and “self-proclaimed born-again virgin” — didn’t enter the UTOPIA complex when production started on the show, Fox announced. The statement from FOX Broadcasting Company, Talpa Media USA and UTOPIA Producers:

“Due to violation of production policies, Andrea Cox will not enter UTOPIA today with the other 14 pioneers. Replacement details will be announced.”

UTOPIA’s live stream is up now. The official series premiere event kicks off on Sunday, September 7th at 8 PM on Fox.

RayDonovan_208_octaviusOn Sunday’s brand new episode of RAY DONOVAN, the fight over Marvin — and the rights to his music — is escalating rapidly. But for Marvin’s portrayer, things are a little bit more clear-cut.

“I think that he definitely wants to be with Cookie,” Octavius J. Johnson (Marvin) shared. “Cookie is just getting out of prison, and he has the connections, and it seems like he can capitalize on Marvin’s success, so he definitely wants to hang with Cookie. He appreciates the earrings, and I think he thinks his gun is cool — all of that stuff. He wants to be with Cookie more than anyone.”

To further emphasize what’s at stake, Sunday’s hour, “Sunny,” also features Marvin and Bridget recording a track.

SLEEPY HOLLOW’s latest look at season 2 teases “hope, courage, destiny,” but it’s the promo’s closing line that is most chilling/alarming: “War is hell.” (And, as fans who watched season 1 can attest to, it’s a multi-layered statement.)

HISTORY is debuting its latest miniseries, HOUDINI on Monday, September 1st at 9 PM (Part 2 airs the following night at 9 PM), and it follows the triumphs — and struggles — of Harry Houdini’s life. (Houdini is played by Oscar-winner Adrien Brody.)

One of the biggest constants in Harry’s life was Bess, his wife of 32 years (who also doubled as his stage assistant), and in the HISTORY miniseries, she’s played by HOUSE OF CARDS’ Kristen Connolly. Comments Off on PERSON OF INTEREST: Michael Emerson and Kevin Chapman on the Show’s Future

PERSON OF INTEREST — which is, as far as I’m concerned, one of the best shows on television right now — isn’t a show that plays it safe: the showrunners have been adamant that anyone can die at any time (and they’ve stuck to that), and that this isn’t a show that’s destined to run for 200-plus episodes.

But what do the actors on the show think of all of that? Michael Emerson (Finch) and Kevin Chapman (Fusco) weighed in on the looming threat to their characters’ lives, and why it’s OK if the show doesn’t run 10 seasons…

Comments Off on THE CHAIR: STARZ Releasing Five Episodes Pre-Official Launch

Starz is releasing five episodes of its upcoming documentary series, THE CHAIR, early to subscribers via Starz Play and Starz VOD.

“Starz is making the first five episodes of THE CHAIR available on the same day of the television premiere of the series to reach a young adult population that is in the vanguard of ‘bingeing’ on shows as their preferred method of viewing,” said Chris Albrecht, CEO of Starz in a statement. “Starz is always interested in moving the premium programming model forward with strategies that are attuned to the projected audience demos of the show. We are once again utilizing an exposure tactic that has intrigued us since we first did it with last year’s limited series DANCING ON THE EDGE.”

THE CHAIR is a unique series that follows the filmmaking process as two first-time directors attempt to make their own separate films — from the same script.

The series officially debuts on Starz on Saturday, September 6th at 11 PM.

BASKETS: FX Orders Zach Galifianakis-Led Series

August 27, 2014 by

fx-logoFX has ordered 10 episodes of BASKETS, a half-hour, single camera comedy series starring Zach Galifianakis, and co-created by Galifianakis, Louis C.K. and Jonathan Krisel. The series will start production next year for a 2016 debut.

“Zach Galifianakis, Louis C.K. and Jonathan Krisel have created an absolutely brilliant show,” said Eric Schrier, Co-President of Original Programing for FX Networks and FX Productions. “To say Zach’s portrayal of the lead character Chip Baskets is hilarious/unique/riveting/fascinating would be an understatement. We can’t wait for the world to meet him.”

So what’s BASKETS about? “In a world constrained by corporate interests and the homogenization of society, one man in Bakersfield, California dares to follow his dream of becoming a professional clown. But after an unsuccessful enrollment at a prestigious clowning school in Paris, the only job he can find is with the local rodeo. Baskets follows Chip Baskets’ (Zach Galifianakis) pursuit of his dream, against all odds, to be a respected clown.”
