BONES: David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel on Episode 200, the New FBI Agent Hanging Around, and More

With less than one week until BONES returns, series stars Emily Deschanel (Brennan) and David Boreanaz (Booth) hopped on a conference call with reporters to tease what’s in store for the show’s tenth season.

On the new FBI agent who will be hanging around, Agent Aubrey:

“He’s someone who works within the FBI, someone who gains trust from Booth,” Boreanaz teased. “I know in the past, we’ve focused on the squints, and I think it’s a great opportunity to dive into the FBI people, and maybe start that rotation of FBI people that work with Booth.”

“He’s originally sent to watch out for Booth, because the FBI’s not trusting Booth now,” Deschanel added. “He’s in a really awkward situation. Aubrey’s character is sent to spy on Booth, essentially. And we’ll see if Booth can trust him at some point. He comes back in other episodes. He’s interesting fresh blood to have on the show.”

On the end of the conspiracy arc:

Booth and Brennan will be dealing with figuring out who set him up, Boreanaz teased that there will be a “light at the end of the tunnel” by the time episode 2 is over.

“We’ve been dealing with this the end of last season,” he said. “It started in episode 17 [or so] and it’s slowly builds and builds, and it exposed itself in a major ugly way at the end of last season, and we start off with it [in season 10] where I can’t do much about it because I’m stuck in prison. But when I do get out, I think there will be a sense of closure that will wrap things up in a neat way. And it’ll show things like, wow, it was right under our nose the whole time, but how it affects our relationship and how it affects Booth when he continues to work in the FBI is still to be determined and worked out throughout the first half of the season.”

On the upcoming episode 200:

BONES executive producers Stephen Nathan and Jonathan Collier teased that the milestone episode will be like a fun amusement park ride, and Boreanaz and Deschanel seemed equally thrilled by the idea of it.

“I know we start prepping now, and we start shooting it in October,” Boreanaz laughed. (He’s also directing the hour.) “It’s going to be pretty big.”

“I don’t know what we can say about it, and they’re still figuring out details,” Deschanel pointed out. “It’s going to be a big episode, it’s going to be a lot of fun, it’s going to be very different. But still great characters…you might see some you haven’t seen in a little bit. It’ll be great.”

But in case you were looking for another tease to ponder over, Boreanaz did offer a little bit more.

“It’ll definitely be a throwback to a time when things were a little bit simpler in life,” he shared. “But yet, something that is a flare of classic…film expose on love and laughter…It’s going to be fun. I think it’s going to be a great opportunity to enjoy the 200th episode, and on top of it, give something back to the fans, who will watch, and go, ‘Oh my God, that and this!’…and Emily is going to look so beautiful. She always does, but classically beautiful.” (Deschanel, for her part, noted that her costar is handsome.)

On the BONES family expanding:

As Nathan hinted at over the summer, Daisy is going to be pregnant…and Sweets is the father.

“They’re part of the family!” Boreanaz enthused. “It’s definitely going to bring everybody closer together. I think we now enjoy each other’s time more, character-wise. I think it’ll be interesting to see how that develops, going forward, especially with someone like Sweets, it’ll be great. It’ll be such a bonding experience for Booth, and for the two of them, because they’ve always treated each other as friends, but they’ll get closer. So I’m looking forward to that relationship and that how unfolds in the episodes, especially between myself and Sweets.”

“It’s so exciting for everybody,” Deschanel gushed. “We’re all excited. We were excited Carla [Gallo (Daisy)] was pregnant in real life and did have a baby, and she got to bring her baby over to the set. So off-camera, and on-camera, we were very excited about a baby happening. A baby being born…it’s exciting for the whole BONES family!”

As for Booth and Brennan’s own family, Deschanel previewed the show will have the duo dealing with some relatable parenting issues.

“We do deal with some things parenting-wise: to choosing which school our daughter should go to, to how we deal with when our daughter starts swearing,” she acknowledged. “And like any normal couple, we have different opinions on it, and different approaches to it. So you see that this season.”

BONES season 10 premieres Thursday, September 25th at 8 PM on Fox.

I just love these interviews & videos and of course the show Bones, as I’ve said many times, this is the best show on TV, so tired of reality, Gotham, sitcom shows.
The whole cast & crew are fabulous and of course Emily & David are my favorite.
Sure hope there will be more seasons to come after season 10. As always thank you sooo much for all the hard work, late nights and dedications you guys put into bringing us a first class show & great entertainment to us your fans every week.
Thanks for 9 seasons & soon to be 10 seasons of re-runs, these are watched by me & am sure by many of your other fans, when the weekly show is not on.
