Comments Off on THE AMERICANS Renewed: FX Orders Season 4

THE AMERICANS has been renewed for a fourth season, Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions announced.

“Remarkably, this season of The Americans has achieved even greater acclaim than that of its first two seasons,” Grad said. “The series has cemented it status with critics as television’s best current drama and arguably the best show on TV, and we couldn’t agree more. That universal critical praise is a tribute to the talents of Joe, Joel, Keri, Matthew, Noah and the entire cast and crew. We look forward to the final four episodes of season three, and beyond, in Philip and Elizabeth Jennings’ riveting journey.”

“It’s been a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a show like this with the immensely talented and immeasurably supportive team at FX and Fox 21 Television Studios,” said Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields.  “We are blessed with an extraordinary cast and crew and grateful that we’ll all be able to continue telling this story that we love so much.”

Comments Off on THE FLASH: Mark Hamill and Andrew Kreisberg Preview the Return of The Trickster

TrickstersTHE FLASH is no stranger to paying homage to the CBS 1990 series — after all the Barry Allen of that show was played John Wesley Shipp, who plays Barry’s father in The CW freshman hit — and in tonight’s episode, “Tricksters,” the series is bringing on Mark Hamill to reprise his role as The Trickster/James Jesse, when a new Trickster pops up and starts creating trouble.

“Just the idea of being asked to play a part decades later,” Hamill joked to reporters after a screening of the hour. “That never happens.”

For Hamill, the decision to appear on The CW’s take was an easy one.

reverse-flashThings could definitely be going a bit smoother for THE FLASH’s Harrison Wells.

Though the rebooted timeline made it so Wells didn’t have to kill Cisco (in the episode 15 timeline, Cisco discovered that Wells was Reverse Flash), he has someone even more risky on his trail: Barry.

Before the recent PaleyFest panel, I spoke with THE FLASH star Tom Cavanagh (Wells) about the tension within the team, and learning more about Wells…

TrickstersTHE FLASH is bringing on Mark Hamill to reprise his role as James Jesse/The Trickster in Tuesday’s episode of The CW freshman drama. And while fans of the original series may be — rightfully — stoked about the delicious guest spot, THE FLASH star Jesse L. Martin (Joe) may have their excitement beat.

In fact, when I spoke to Martin before the recent PaleyFest panel honoring THE FLASH, not only did he gush about Hamill’s appearance on the series, but he also copped to asking for an autograph…on a fabulous piece of memorabilia.

Check out Martin’s story!

Hey BACKSTROM fans! The show is back after a mini-break, and this episode, Give ‘Til it Hurts, saw Portland’s Special Crimes Unit investigating the death of a wealthy philanthropist, featured many of them in formal wear (it’s a good look), and more scenes with Backstrom’s ex-fiance Amy, played as always by the great Sarah Chalke. I liked this episode pretty well; in fact, I think it might be my favorite of the series so far. Let’s discuss! Read more
