BONES Renewed: Fox Orders Season 11 with New Showrunners

BONES has been renewed for an 11th season, Fox announced.

The renewal will make the drama the longest-running Fox live-action series in the network’s history. (At least in season numbers — in episode order, it still has a while to go before it reaches BEVERLY HILLS, 90210’s total of 293 episodes.) The current season will end on June 11th.

Though season 11 was just officially ordered, the people behind BONES had been planning ahead for a potential next season: executive producer Stephen Nathan already shared that there will likely be a time jump in 11, and Booth and Brennan’s second child will be born next season.

That being said, there is a change in the works: Nathan — who has been with the show since its first season — will step down as showrunner for the upcoming season, with longtime BONES writers Jonathan Collier and Michael Peterson taking over as co-showrunners. (Nathan is working on other projects for the network, but, per Fox, “hopes to rejoin the show later this season.”)

Aside from that, everyone is expected to return: Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, TJ Thyne, Michaela Conlin, Tamara Taylor, and John Boyd will all be series regulars.

Are you excited for more BONES?

I’m thrilled! I’ve been waiting to open my email and see the words, “Fox renews Bones for an 11th season.” Just please get back our old Booth and Brennan…I need to see the chemistry between them that kept us watching all these years. Tell Emily to curl her hair..just a suggestion..and cuter clothes..but I’ll take her anyway I can get her!

My neighbor and I watch Bones all the time together. I work third so demand is my friend. I hope that Bones and Booth work their problems out I would hate to see a divorce in the future for them. I love this show and we (the neighbor and I ) are thrilled to hear of another season… Keep them coming Bones!!!

Bones has been an incredible show for me to have the pleasure to watch. Obviously the first couple seasons were the best, but season 10 ruined it for me. It’s like since hart Hanson left the series it’s changed. Sweets died which is just the beginning of my woes with the show. It seems so stale and generic. The characters seem so one dimensional and static not the dynamic ever developing interactive story they once were. Every killer in season 10 “oh sorry didn’t mean to” fake sob story and on top of that they bring in Aubrey who looks like a nerd but acts like he’s some tough guy or like he’s been with the cast for years or somethin. The dialogue dried up and got super stale in s10 the only exciting episode was the gambling one. Please stay working on other projects Nathan and bring hart Hanson back!
