NBC logoNBC has ordered BETTER LATE THAN NEVER, a new reality-comedy series which puts five celebrities — Henry Winkler, William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw, George Foreman and Jeff Dye — on the path to an adventure in Asia.

Here’s what the network had to say about the new series…

“NBC announced today it is taking five celebrated men from across different genres on an epic adventure throughout Asia with its new alternative comedy series “Better Late Than Never.”

Henry Winkler, William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw, George Foreman and Jeff Dye will embark on the ultimate international excursion with no assistants, no limousines and no lattes, in search of an intimate, life-changing experience. The one-hour series will begin production in August, traveling to Tokyo, Kyoto, Seoul, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Chang Mai before heading home.

The five will navigate their way through each city — communicating with the local population, immersing themselves in local traditions and enjoying exotic food — all the while dealing with the unexpected twists and turns that any trip presents. As they check off items on their own personal “bucket list,” the five will rely on each other for support and encouragement and, in the process, demonstrate that friendship is the ultimate gift.

Henry Winkler, an award-winning actor, producer, writer and director, has had recent starring roles in such series as “Parks and Recreation,” “Royal Pains,” “Childrens Hospital” and “Arrested Development.” He is, of course, known best to many by his iconic character, the Fonz, from the ABC series “Happy Days.”

William Shatner, an Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor, director and writer, is best known for his acclaimed work that includes starring roles in television classics “Star Trek” (as Capt. James T. Kirk) and “3rd Rock from the Sun,” as well as more recent series “The Practice” and “Boston Legal,” among many others.

Terry Bradshaw has been an NFL analyst and studio co-host on “Fox NFL Sunday” since 1994. One of the best quarterbacks of his generation, he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for 14 seasons and won four Super Bowls on Steelers teams that are considered some of the best in the history of the NFL.

In one of the most successful post-athletic transition to the business world, George Foreman remains a household name with his wildly popular George Foreman Grill, which has registered sales exceeding 100 million.  Currently he is championing his online premium meat market: The George Foreman Butcher Shop.  A member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame and a gold medal winner in the 1968 Olympics, Foreman was a two-time world heavyweight champion in the 1970s and ended his professional record at 76-5 with 68 knockouts.

Comedian Jeff Dye placed third on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” early in his career and has since brought his brand of funny to several networks, including MTV (“Girl Code,” “Money From Strangers”) and a Comedy Central special. He tours nationally and was a host on ABC’s “Extreme Makeover Home Edition.” He is currently co-starring on NBC’s new Tuesday night reality series “I Can Do That.”

Winkler will serve as executive producer along with reality veteran Jason Ehrlich (“The Bachelor”), Tim Crescenti (“I Survived a Japanese Game Show”) and multi-award-winning producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (“The Bucket List”).

“Better Late Than Never” is a Universal Television production in association with Storyline Entertainment.  The successful original series, “Grandpa Over Flowers” is produced by CJ Entertainment & Media and currently airs in both China and South Korea.”
