DC Comics’ latest TV offering is a bit different than what is currently airing in that genre: not only is VIXEN a CW Seed (AKA online/app) exclusive, but the series is also animated. But because it exists in the current DC universe, some familiar characters (and their portrayers’ voices) will pop up in the first six installments of VIXEN.

As for the title superhero, when the show finds Mari/Vixen, she’s just starting to use the powers she’s gained from her inherited Tantu Totem. “Mari’s power is super cool, and it’s super cool how she uses the spirits of animals,” Megalyn Echikunwoke (Mari/Vixen) teased. “It’s a really cool superhero power.”

I spoke with Echikunwoke about joining the DC universe, Vixen’s journey, and more… Read more

MINORITY REPORT: Wilmer Valderrama and Laura Regan Preview the New Fox Drama

Comments Off on MINORITY REPORT: Wilmer Valderrama and Laura Regan Preview the New Fox Drama

MINORITY REPORT is taking a new look at the crime procedural this fall — the series, which is a continuation of the 2002 Tom Cruise film with the same name follows a “precog,” Dash, who is able to see the future, and is driven by his visions of future crimes to find a way to stop them. He teams up with Detective Vega, who is able to utilize his information, to try and stop the crimes he sees.

But it’s not so simple. Technically, Detective Vega isn’t supposed to be getting help from a precog, and Dash’s siblings (who are also precogs) aren’t wholly on board with his activities.

At Comic-Con, Wilmer Valderrama (who plays Vega’s boss, Will Blake) and Laura Regan (who plays Dash’s sister, Agatha) shared a little bit about their characters…

GOTHAM’s second season is focusing on the rise of the villains.

Though season 1 boasted quite a few baddies — including Oswald’s rise to power, Nygma’s first kill, and the now-presumed dead Fish Mooney — season 2 is adding a few new faces to the mix, putting Barbara firmly on the villain side of things, and playing a bit with the Joker of it all.

At Comic-Con, GOTHAM executive producers Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon spoke with reporters about the new (and returning) faces coming to season 2…

SLEEPY HOLLOW has made Lance Gross and Zach Appelman series regulars, a rep for the show has confirmed.

Gross will make his first appearance in the upcoming third season as Daniel Reynolds, Abbie’s new boss. Appelman appeared in a season 2 episode as Joe Corbin, the son of Abbie’s (deceased) former mentor/partner, Sheriff Corbin.

Gross and Appelman join fellow new season 3 regulars Nikki Reed (who is playing Betsy Ross) and Shannyn Sossamon (who is playing Pandora). They join returning series regulars Tom Mison (Ichabod), Nicole Beharie (Abbie), and Lyndie Greenwood (Jenny).

Many, many, many shows will be debuting (and returning) in the next couple of months, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg for upcoming shows this season.

Case in point? Fox’s LUCIFER, which won’t debut until early 2016. (And it’s getting a plum post-X-FILES slot.)

The series follows an earth-bound Lucifer, who is currently residing in Los Angeles…where he owns a nightclub. (The show is loosely based off the DC comic character, who was launched in from THE SANDMAN comic and its spinoff, LUCIFER.) But when a person is murdered outside his club, Lucifer feels something and opts to help the LAPD solve the case.

But just because Lucifer is doing something “right,” don’t expect him to be kind. LUCIFER star Tom Ellis spoke with reporters about getting to play bad, what Lucifer thinks of humans, and more…

There are terrible pick-up lines, and then there are terrible pick-up lines delivered awkwardly/adorably by Keegan-Michael Key and Seth Meyers.

Key and Meyers — both of whom are married, and admit to being out of the game — tried out some terrible lines during Key’s visit to LATE NIGHT. And it was kind of hilarious.

Comments Off on ASH VS EVIL DEAD: Starz Releases Season 1 Key Art

Bruce Campbell is appropriately bloody in the new key art for the upcoming Starz series, ASH VS EVIL DEAD.

The series is the next chapter in the EVIL DEAD franchise, which first started 35 years ago. Campbell reprises his role of Ash, who is now described as “the stock boy, aging lothario, and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead.” (The Starz show also includes franchise newbie Lucy Lawless.)

Fox is looking to the future (the year 2065, to be exact) with its upcoming fall drama, MINORITY REPORT.

Enter Meagan Good’s Detective Vega, who is (reluctantly) willing to help him in order to help people in need.

Recently, Sands and Good spoke with reporters about their characters, bringing comedy to the series, their evolving on-screen partnership, and more…

Comments Off on Kelly Clarkson Sings Tinder Profiles on JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE

In case you were wondering, Kelly Clarkson could essentially sing the phone book at this point, and make it sound appealing.

And while Tinder profiles are slightly more, uh, exotic, the fact that Clarkson singing them — during her spot on Tuesday’s JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE — actually sounded appealing is yet another one of her vocal feats.

Miss Clarkson singing Tinder profiles? Check it out…

Taraji P. Henson and Jimmy Fallon Play FAST FAMILY FEUD on THE TONIGHT SHOW

FAMILY FEUD really needs to call up EMPIRE’s Taraji P. Henson.

Henson played a “fast” version of the game on THE TONIGHT SHOW with host Jimmy Fallon and A) it was ridiculously hilarious, and B) Henson is very competitive. (And creative with a few of her answers.)

Miss the bit? Check out Henson and Fallon playing the game…and be warned you may lose it a little bit when they get to the final round. (Spoiler alert: they have to fill in this blank — “__ balls”…yeah, it went crazy fast.)
