About Last Night…ARROW and AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL

October 8, 2015 by

Let’s talk about Wednesday night TV!

[As a reminder, I’m going to be in New York for about a week, so I’ll still be doing these ALNs, but they’ll more heavily focus on anything I have screener access to.]

ARROW: So. That final scene. I have concerns, mostly because the writers claim they haven’t landed on who it is who died. They could be misleading press or they might not know — I don’t know. If it’s the latter, I hope it’s someone VERY minor.

Aside from that, I enjoyed the premiere. Neal McDonough was great. It was fantastic to see how Diggle/Laurel/Thea operated without Oliver and Felicity. There were some natural bumps when the team reunited, but curious how it’ll play out.

Wish Diggle wasn’t lying about HIVE, though. And Lance, don’t be dumb.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL: Man, that set is gorgeous. Lady Gaga and Bomer had an incredible entrance. And that crime scene was so freaking brutal that I’m almost surprised I haven’t seen anything similar on another show.

It feels like it’s going to be one of the stranger seasons of AHS — similar to FREAK SHOW. Either you’re freaking in or you’re not. I’m tentatively enjoying it. (And certainly enjoying it more than FREAK SHOW’s opener.) It just feels like there are still so many elements that have yet to come into play so it’s hard to know what the show is going to be.
