Let’s talk about Monday’s TV. On tap, THE VOICE, THE NEIGHBORHOOD, HAPPY TOGETHER, and MANIFEST…

THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Nope.

THE VOICE: A small nitpick, but if they’re going to pretend we don’t know if a contestant is making it to the Comeback Stage, maybe it shouldn’t be a silhouette of the contestant?

That being said, I loved that Audri Bartholomew performed “Never Enough” (from the fantastic GREATEST SHOWMAN)—and acknowledged that a former THE VOICE contestant Loren Allred provided the vocals for that performance. And Kymberli Joye has become an instant frontrunner; I suspect Jennifer Hudson won’t have the opportunity to steal her from Kelly Clarkson.

HAPPY TOGETHER: This is one of the best new comedies of the season. Damon Wayans Jr. and Amber Stevens West are adorable together, and the show just feels fun. My one concern is it feels slightly more like a movie plot versus an ongoing television show, but since the real-life circumstances (where Harry Styles moved in with a LATE LATE SHOW producer) lasted a significant amount of time, I’m curious to see how it’ll play out here.

MANIFEST: So, if Olive sensed her brother and father were still alive, how did that impact her life? That’s what I’d like to see. Because beyond keeping her twin’s things, you’d think that guilt would be constantly paralyzing and it would make it hard to literally live her life. I know flashbacks on shows like this can be a delicate line to toe, but right now I’m leaning toward wanting to see an episode of the aftermath for those who didn’t get on the plane.

(Okay, the best thing on TV yesterday was actually the Dodgers clinching the NL West. Sorry to everything else.)
