Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

AMERICAN IDOL: Man, I feel bad for Laine Hardy’s friend. In theory, he was there just to support her, but instead he ended up overshadowing her and getting his own ticket to Hollywood. (Yes, she got through, too, but it’s hours later and I don’t remember her name, but remember what happened with him.)

There were more good auditions, but it felt a little less standout than the previous two episodes.

THE SIMPSONS: Uh, that last act Russian twist was something. It kind of felt like they needed an extra minute of story and went, well, this could work?

SUPERGIRL: I don’t believe for a second they’ll kill off James, but it’s also a bit hard to go from that to the show teasing the Very Big Event in the next episode.

BOB’S BURGERS: Bob’s inability to take a day off was kind of sad, but it was also funny. Tiffany Haddish was great as his sandwich counterpart.
