VERONICA MARS returns with new episodes on Hulu this month, and the cast and crew are hitting up Comic-Con to promote season 4. Follow along for a live-blog of what happens!

11:30 PM: We’re starting off with a screening of the season premiere. We’ll be back after with the panel.

12:18 PM: We’re starting with the panel! “Veronica’s commitment issues” are something we didn’t explore much in the first few seasons, Kristen Bell says. That’ll be explored in season 4. Bell notes Logan is the right partner because “he’s taking his time.”

12:21 PM: How did Jason Dohring prepare for his shirtless scene? “Rob seems to always write this in,” Dohring says. He says he’s signing the swim shorts and donating them to Percy Daggs for a charity auction.

12:22 PM: How worried should we be about Keith? “Very worried,” Colantoni says.

12:23 PM: How much fun is it to write scenes for Keith and Veronica? “It is so comfortable,” Rob Thomas says. “It is so easy to do…I did get to show up for the first scene [of them in the season]. Having rebuilt the Mars Investigation office, having watched Kristen and Enrico perform that scene, it was about as happy as I’ve been in the past year.”

12:24 PM: “Hands down, Kristen has been the meanest to me,” Kirby Howelll-Baptiste jokes. She says it’s kind of like meeting a boyfriend’s family, and everyone opened her with open arms. “I was beyond thrilled,” Bell says. “We fell in mad love on THE GOOD PLACE.” But Diane Ruggerio-Wright makes it clear that Wallace is still Veronica’s best friend.

12:27 PM: What does Wallace get out of the relationship? “I see her doing her job,” Daggs says. He understands why Wallace makes allowances for Veronica is so dismissive of him. “She doesn’t deserve you, Wallace,” Thomas jokes. But Daggs is happy with his character’s grown-up life in

12:29 PM: “You can’t damage Dick,” Ryan Hansen says of his character not really dealing with trauma. “Dick is hard. But everybody loves Dick. He loves to have a good time.”

12:30 PM: Is Weevil in love with Veronica? Francis Capra says he initially tried to distance himself from the character and show, but the revivals made it impossible for him to be detached. “Absolutely Weevil is in love with this woman,” he says. ” Do you know how many times she’s bailed me out of jail? In real life, that don’t happen.”

12:32 PM: “I’ll play Veronica until everyone in Neptune is dead,” Bell says. Thomas jokes it’s likely he’ll be dead before then.

12:34 PM: Bell got a wrap gift of a pillow of her fake fictional dog. She loved him so much.

12:35 PM: Will Hansen bring any crime-fighting skills to VM? Nope!

12:36 PM: “They landed exactly where I thought they would,” Thomas says of where the characters landed.

12:37 PM: FMK Leo, Piz, Duncan. They would go in that order: eff Leo, marry Piz, kill Duncan.

12:38 PM: “You have to have this character, this superhero without a cape so they can reference her,” Bell says of being able to influence her daughters. She says she’s more sympathetic to her characters now that she’s a mother. She’s also able to be a maternal figure to a new character in the show.

Thomas binged the original series with his 13-year-old daughter before writing this show. His daughter mentioned that a lot of what Keith says are things that Thomas says in real life.

12:41 PM: Returning faces include Ken Marino, Ryan Devlin, Max Greenfield, and Julie Gonzalo.

12:42 PM: Ruggiero-Wright jokes that Thomas won’t let her near music in the series. Thomas teases there are a few Billie Eilish songs in the series.

12:45 PM: And the panel ends with a bit of news!
