Let’s talk about Sunday’s TV!

BATWOMAN: I know we’re still early in the series/season, but I’m very curious how long the show is going to rely on Bruce/Batman as part of the narrative. It makes sense Kate is still looking to him, even with him being an absent figure, but Martha’s pearls felt like it was maybe a step too far? It feels a bit like SUPERGIRL’s first season, where she kept mentioning her cousin, but it felt like the show was painting itself into a corner because it wasn’t Superman’s show. (I don’t know if “Crisis,” which is introducing a Bruce from the future, will make the issue better or worse.)

WATCHMEN: Regina King is incredible, and is, thus far, the biggest reason to stick with the show. (That being said, I’m intrigued by WTF is going on with the clones/robots/duplicates that are retelling the story of Dr. Manhattan.)

SUPERGIRL: While I’m happy James got a happy—and fitting—ending, I really wish the show had really known how to write to him when he was on.

THE ROOKIE: I’m really happy that Jackson earned his short sleeves. This was one of my favorite episodes of the season, and it really allowed everyone to showcase themselves and their partnerships in different ways. (I also loved the reveal that Jackson had known about Nolan and Lucy’s relationship all along.)
