The Simpsons Marathon 2019

THE SIMPSONS – Freeform welcomes the Simpson family as America’s longest-running sitcom will begin to air on the network starting this September. Viewers will be able to enjoy episodes from all 30 seasons of the dysfunctional and hilarious adventures of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie and the array of quirky supporting characters living in the misfit city of Springfield. Currently in its 30th season, “The Simpsons” is a Gracie Films Production in association with 20th Century Fox Television. The series was created by Matt Groening and developed by James L. Brooks, Matt Groening and Sam Simon. James L. Brooks, Matt Groening and Al Jean are executive producers. Air dates will be announced at a later date. (c) TCFFC ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

FXX is bringing back its record-breaking THE SIMPSONS marathon—with a twist.

Starting Tuesday, December 17 at 8/7c—exactly 30 years to the date/time that the animated comedy debuted on Fox—FXX will kick off a 661 episode marathon.

The episodes will air in order, with the inclusion of THE SIMPSONS MOVIE, as well as the animated short THE LONGEST DAYCARE. (The latter is airing for the first time in syndication.)

However, the newly dubbed THE SIMPSONS PLUS+SIZE HOLIDAY MARATHON isn’t exactly like the previous EVERY SIMPSONS EVER binges: the currently airing 31st season won’t be included, and the banned season 3 premiere “Stark Raving Dad” isn’t in the lineup.

After the marathon concludes on Tuesday, December 31, FXX will then host a mini-THE SIMPSONS marathon with a BEST OF THE MARATHON marathon, that will kick off with the film and short, and then be followed by 11 episodes that were “determined by the series’ creators and viewer usage on FX Networks’ former Simpsons World on-demand portal.” (The series now streams exclusively on Disney+.)

The new marathon will be the longest-running marathon in TV history, per FXX, “surpassing the previous record-holders: the 13-day, THE SIMPSONS  600 Marathon in 2016 and the original 12-day, 552-episode THE SIMPSONS marathon in 2014.”
