UPDATE: John Krasinski IS the Voice of Ask.com

I should have known better than to go against my gut instinct when it comes to John Krasinski. So after all the hullabaloo yesterday, Ask.com just sent me an email letting me know that it IS in fact John Krasinski’s voice we hear in their commercials.
Check out the email I just got.
We contacted you recently regarding John Krasinski’s role in the Ask.com advertisements. At this time, we are running several ads in both the UK and the US and John Krasinski does provide the voice in our US advertisement. We regret any confusion and hope that you enjoy our TV ads.

If you’ve seen any of the latest ads for Ask.com, ya know, the ones with the monkeys doing searches, then you probably noticed that guy doing the voice over sounds EXACTLY like John Krasinski of The Office. I’m probably John’s biggest fan and I was convinced it was him. As were countless other Office-ianados. So in the name of journalism (ha) I went directly to the source to ask. I emailed Ask.com directly.
As it turns out, John Krasinski is not the voice behind Ask.com. Here’s the response I got today:
We appreciate you taking the time to write to Ask.com regarding our advertisement. We have been told that John Krasinski did not do the voice of the commercial. If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.
I still think J. Kras is the man behind the commercials. Until he denies it himself, I refuse to believe those silly folks over at Ask.com. What do they know…they only make the commercials? Maybe they were confused by which commercial I was inquiring about. It just has to be him. I know someone emailed Jenna Fischer and asked her to ask John, so until then, I’m going to keep watching and re-watching the commercials on my Tivo over and over again. Ah, kidding…well kind of…no I am…really.

Well, if they weren’t smart enough to use him already, they should wisen up and ask him to do their new commercials!

Believe me…I think it’s him too. I’m thinking the person I asked didn’t know, which would be ironic since it was ASK.com. I mean it’s not like John would deny it. All the big players do VO’s…Julia Roberts, George Clooney, McDreamy…
Having just watched the commercial again….. It is amazing how much it sounds like him! Mabye it is him, but they can’t reveal that’s it’s him due to contractual reasons!
It’s totally gotta be John…wouldn’t that be a funny feeling for him though if it wasn’t? He has a voice twin 😉

I agree with coverstock. Wow, maybe John is becoming a hot voiceover commodity. Perhaps we will hear him in more commercials? Heart be still! LOL

With regard to the title UPDATE: John Krasinski IS the Voice of Ask.com | Give Me My Remote, it kind of jumped out at the screen for a second but now I understand it. I’ve been thinking about the same stuff at my blog http://sjamessmith.livejournal.com. I would really love your reaction on what I talk about. Bert Boggess
