A Fond Farewell to My Favorite Scenes - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

A Fond Farewell to My Favorite Scenes

June 1, 2006 by

Yeah…still packing. I’m not so good at this moving stuff. I’m good for 20 minutes and then I get distracted. But I had to take yet another break to share with all of you the details of my last distraction. See a few hours ago I realized that by moving I would have to give up my DVR cable box as I have a new cable company in my new apartment. You know what that means? All the shows I have been saving for the past year are going bye bye. Sniff. Every episode of Season 2 of The Office…adios. The “I am God” episode of Veronica Mars – the episode shot while I was on set…see ya. Oh it’s a dark, dark day.

Before I unplugged my cable box and TV, I had to say goodbye to some of the scenes that made this past year so memorable. It was tough but I made it through. Here’s to you…my favorite scenes of the year!

Seriously, do you know what it was like to watch the last minutes of “Casino Night” for the final time? It damn near killed me. Good things I put those scenes on my site so I can watch them whenever I want (thank god for youtube.com). And at the end of the show when my DVR asked if I wanted to DELETE or SAVE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t hit DELTE. It would have been too painful.

Oh, and the bitch of it all….
With all the TV I watch, I just didn’t have time to take on another show…hell, I have to sleep sometime. That being said, I have heard nothing but amazing things about 24, so this season I decided to record every episode and watch the whole season during the summer, when I had more time. Do you know how long I have been looking forward to my 24 marathon? I’ve even managed to avoid all spoilers for months on end.

So goodbye DVR.  You’ve been good to me.  Time for a fresh start with a brand new DVR tomorrow.

GMMR – did you know that Fox is going to replay the entire season of 24 over the summer, with two shows a week? I missed the last half of 24 due to Everwood, so I’m planning on catching up with 24 this summer, too!

Fantastic news!!! Thanks, I totally forgot about that.

Aww, that’s so sad! If I had DVR I’d send you a copy of the finale of Veronica Mars…but alas, I’m still stuck in the stone age with vhs. (I do have a dvd player, just not anything that records. ;-))

So, so hard. Best of luck getting through this difficult period! 🙂

Hey, Gmmr, I have all the eps of the office downloaded I could burn a dvd for you, that way you won’t go through all the heavy withdrawal symptoms this summer

Ditto for VM, so give me a shout if mere clippage won’t suffice.

Seriously, you need TiVo…it’s really worth the two or three extra dollars a month and you don’t EVER lose your shows. I could cry for you!

Oh, and if you get TiVo, totally use my email akp221@gmail.com as a referral…I think I get a sticker or something, ha. I cannot stress how much better TiVo is than regular DVR.

I love the show Grey’s Anantomy. Thank you for putting some pictures up so that everyone can see how pretty Izzie(y) is. Very smart of you. =] I still have to watch the second season and part of the third. I hope it’s good. Everyone should also watch HOUSE too. It’s better than Grey’s Anatomy. Well, I hope everyone has a great day! =] Don’t forget to watch HOUSE! You can’t miss it! Bye.
