About Us
A little about me…
Hi! My name is Kath (or as I’m sometimes known around here, simply GMMR) and I’m the founder and editor of GiveMeMyRemote.com. I started this blog waaaay back in 2005, and since then it’s become my very favorite hobby. Yes, a hobby. I have a full-time “real job” in the interactive marketing space. One day, when I hit the lottery, I’ll take this blog out for a little spin and see what it really can do. Until then I spend the very early hours of the morning, and the very late hours of the evening watching TV and blogging away.
GiveMeMyRemote.com is all about celebrating TV. I don’t fancy myself the best writer, but I am a passionate TV fan who loves to nothing more than dishing on my favorite shows with other TV addicts. I don’t spend much time talking about shows that I don’t like - what’s the fun in that? It’s more about having a shared experience with others who enjoy the same type of TV programming that I do. I watch a lot of TV, but even with two DVRs there’s still so much I just can’t cover. Lucky for me, I have some help…Team GMMR.
The other site contributors (known collectively as Team GMMR) were GMMR readers who stepped up and offered to help out with the site during a time when I just didn’t think keeping the blog going was going to be possible. Members of Team GMMR write recaps, reviews, share news about the shows they cover, and contribute in all of our “Team Projects”. This site wouldn’t be possible without these folks. They don’t get paid for their writing, so their currency is the kind words you offer and the insightful comments that fuel the discussion.

Major Moments in GMMR’s History…
- October 2005 - GMMR launches it’s very first post (”Lost Withdrawal“)
- December 2005 - Jenna Fischer of THE OFFICE stumbles upon GMMR and agrees to answer a few question for the site. She asks if her co-star John Krasinski can be involved too. Which leads to…
- January 2006 - GMMR’s first ever celebrity interview (and the first ever joint Jenna Fischer/John Krasinski interview)…this is where everything kind of begins for us
- February 2006 - Warner Bros invites me to the very first bloggers press day on the set of VERONICA MARS
- February 2007 - Jennie from OfficeTally.com and I spend the entire day on the set of THE OFFICE watching them film (”Women’s Appreciation - read about it here“) - a dream come true (The Office Set Visit Part I | The Office Set Visit Part II)
- June 2007 - GMMR is mentioned in a small excerpt in Time Magazine about the regime change at NBC
- September 2007 - The first ever TV Talk Podcast with GMMR & Ducky is launched
- May 2008 - My first ever meeting with Joshua Jackson and my world has never been the same
From the very beginning it’s been a wild ride. I’ve been lucky enough to attend a number of incredible TV-related parties (including 2 years of the Network Upfronts), events and set visits including: Chuck, Pushing Daisies, Privileged, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I’ve met nearly all my favorite TV stars with the exception of a few. (Neil Patrick Harris, Jennifer Garner, Michael Vartan and Michael Urie currently top my must meet list.) It’s been a hoot!

I relaunched GMMR in January 2009. That launch would not have been possible without the help of Karen & Dana from WeFixWp.com, a service of ContentRobot.com. If you are a blogger and looking for experts to help with your blog, I highly recommend them. Here’s a little more about Content Robot and We Fix WP.
