American Idol Cuts Robyn Troup

Robyn Troup

Uh oh American Idol.  Looks like Paula, Randy and Simon made a big mistake tonight.  Just two nights after Robyn Troup made her mark on the Grammy stage singing along side Justin Timberlake, we find out that the singer was CUT from American Idol’s Hollywood Week.  Not sure what the reasoning was because she sounded great on Idol tonight.  What’s American Idol’s track record for those being cut making it big?  Getting but has never worked out better…oh ok, if you don’t count that Jennifer Hudson girl

There was a contest for unknown singers to perform with Justin at the Grammys, and she won and she did a great job.
I was confused when I saw her too! Strangely enough, even though she did sound good on Idol, she looked kind of uncomfortable performing, even though she seemed perfectly fine dancing onstage with Justin and TI.

I guess I’m in the minority that she didn’t sound that great on the Grammys. She sounded like what she is – a young inexperienced singer. I would have cut her from AI too. Perhaps in time she’ll get better but I didn’t see any raw, special talent with her. I give her props for offering a good performance on the Grammys though, but I thought the Justin & T.I part was the best segment of that performance.

To Jennifer…was Kevin “Chicken Little” Covias made of RAW, SPECIAl talent? If American Idol looked only for RAW talent, it wouldn’t be so easy to vote anyone off. Copa Cabana anyone? 🙂

First Off Congradulations Robyn for a damn good job well done. And to any and everyone who has something negative to say about my home girl can go to hell in a handbasket.

I think AI has made a mistake… but oh well, I heard Robyn is now signed to Justin’s record label. That’s a great thing for her…. she skipped the long and stressful process of AI and still got what she wants, a deal!
