Angel vs. Booth - The Great Boreanaz Debate

October 17, 2008 by Give Me My Remote

Angel vs. Booth

There wasn’t a new Bones episode this week so we’re going to take the opportunity to discuss a very important matter. Namely - ANGEL vs. BOOTH.

I’ve heard that David Boreanaz doesn’t really like talking about his flair, but I have no problem doing it, and I hope you don’t either, because this one is going to take a lot of audience participation.

Here’s your task…
Check out the categories below. For each one choose ANGEL or BOOTH.  Think you can handle it? Like good quiz takers (and David Boreanaz fans) I’m hoping you will use the comments to note only vote but plead your case by providing some good examples. Make sense?

You have until 8:00 PM EST on Wednesday, October 22nd to respond, and over the week, I’ll tally the responses and post the results on the 23rd.

Okay…here we go…

Between Angel and Booth, which one…
1. Is more able to rally a team together?
2. Has better moments of unleashed power? (feel free to give an example)
3. Has performed the best rescue?
4. Is a better father?
5. Has had a better hair evolution?
6. Is more loyal?
7. Has the best moment of dialogue? (and what is it?)
8. Faces the more seemingly impossible love?
9. Has the more tortured past?
10. Is more vulnerable (in a good way)?
11. Is more capable of overcoming great weakness?
12. Looks better in his gratuitous bare-chested scene?

Answer below and check back next week for the results!

    1. BOOTH - Angel wasn’t always a rallier
    2. ANGEL - Chained up against a wall, sigh
    3. ANGEL
    4. ANGEL?
    5. BOOTH!
    6. ANGEL
    7. I’m going to have to say Angel but there are too many awesome Angel quotes to choose from
8.ANGEL - Sex with Brennan won’t send Booth to hell
    9. ANGEL - hands down
    10. Toss Up: Booth?
    11. BOOTH
    12. Booth

  2. Tanja on October 17th, 2008 3:29 pm

    1. Booth
    2. Angel - Vampire… really nothing else needs to be said
    3. Booth - injured and he still can rescue Bones (Two Bodies
    in the Lab)
    4. Booth - Love all the interactions with Parker and even
episodes without him the father stuff is just great.
The Man in the Cell is the best example of a caring
    father.
    5. Booth
    6. Angel
    7. Booth - “Here we are. All of us, basically alone, separate
creatures just circling each other… Yeah, but
what’s important is we try. And when we do it
right, we get close.” That whole long quote from
    Death in the Saddle.
8.Angel - Whole Vampire immortality thing, plus going to hell
9.Angel - Past is so much longer
    10. Booth
    11. Booth
    12. Booth

Sweet! I love navel-gazing over fictitious characters.

    1. Booth
    2. Angel
    3. Booth: I’m totally blanking on Buffy-Rescues. But Brennan’s Gravedigger rescue comes to mind immediately.
    4. …Booth: A did had more working against him. Like that pesky Demon Hell Dimension.
    5. Booth
    6. Angel
    7. Booth: I love me some B-B-Bickering.
    8. ANGEL. I still angst over this.
    9. Angel
    10. Booth
    11. Booth
    12. Booth

Even though I have moved on to another vampire(and NOT this “Edward” dude I keep hearing about at school, on the street, in my damn house), Angel will always have a place on my TV-BF Mantle. We’ll see about Booth.

  4. Wanda on October 17th, 2008 4:09 pm

    1. Booth
    2. Angel-
    3. Booth- but I am not entirely certain
    4. Definitely Booth - although he does not have to deal with people kidnapping his kid and taking him to hell dimension and then trying to get the kid to kill them, but Angel is willing to do a lot for his kid
    5. Booth - by far
    6. pretty even, but probably Angel
    7. It’s a toss up. They both have had their moments.
    8. Angel - with both Buffy and Cordelia
    9. Angel - 200 years of killing people vs a few years as a sniper…
    10. Booth?
    11. Booth -
    12. Booth - although there are not nearly as many of these as there were of Angel

  5. just jane on October 17th, 2008 4:33 pm

    1. Is more able to rally a team together? Angel. Booth is a natural leader but Brennan is the alpha dog in their world.

    2. Has better moments of unleashed power? (feel free to give an example) Dude, Angel all the way.

    3. Has performed the best rescue? I liked when Booth rescued Brennan but Angel has supernatural powers and has performed some amazing things. Angel.

    4. Is a better father? Booth all the way. He is able to build a relationship with his son. Angel never got the chance and when he did his son was constantly trying to kill him. Although he did give a lot to give Conner a second chance with a new family and a wiped memory. Nope Booth wins this hands down.

    5. Has had a better hair evolution? That’s a tough one. I’m going with Booth

    6. Is more loyal? Because of Angel’s alter ego I will have to give this one to Booth

    7. Has the best moment of dialogue? (and what is it?) Booth is more sarcastic but Angel would come out with some super dry comments and steal the scene. Can’t think of anything off the top of my head.

    8. Faces the more seemingly impossible love? Angel. Period, the end.

    9. Has the more tortured past? Seriously? Angel.

    10. Is more vulnerable (in a good way)? Booth. He has a hard candy coating but will totally melt in your mouth. ;)

    11. Is more capable of overcoming great weakness? I’m going with Booth. As a human it takes a lot more to overcome weakness than the non-human.

    12. Looks better in his gratuitous bare-chested scene? Booth. He has to work out. Angel is imbued with supernatural powers why would he go to the gym?

  6. Philiana on October 17th, 2008 4:59 pm

    1. Is more able to rally a team together? BOOTH.
    2. Has better moments of unleashed power? ANGEL.
    3. Has performed the best rescue? ANGEL.
    4. Is a better father? BOOTH.
    5. Has had a better hair evolution? BOOTH.
    6. Is more loyal? ANGEL.
    7. Has the best moment of dialogue? BOOTH is way more cynical/sarcastic, etc. but seriously they’ve both had a fair share of unforgettable zingers.
    8. Faces the more seemingly impossible love? ANGEL, of course!!
    9. Has the more tortured past? ANGEL.
    10. Is more vulnerable (in a good way)? Hm, it’s a toss-up for me. I’ll just go ahead and say BOOTH, because when he isn’t holding up his charade, he is quite fantastic.
    11. Is more capable of overcoming great weakness? BOOTH, for obvious reasons.
    12. Looks better in his gratuitous bare-chested scene? BOOTH!

  7. Seeleybaby on October 17th, 2008 6:40 pm

Oh, thank you everyone who has responded so far! I am loving all of your answers. And thanks for the examples, too. Sigh…such hard work thinking of DB all day long, but…someone HAS to do it, and I guess I could.

Oh, and I forgot to mention before, but gracias to Space for her wicked cool header again. I mean seriously, how fierce is that?

    3. Booth- Gravedigger Incident

    5. Booth-Hands down
    6. Tough one but going to have to go with booth
    7. Booth saying “everything happens eventually” lol gotta love that line
    8. Of course it Angel
    9. Tough one Booth regrets his days as a sniper where as Angel has killed quite alot of people. i can’t decide
    10. Going to have to say Booth
    11. Definetley Booth
    12. Totally Booth on that one

  9. Monisse on October 17th, 2008 7:10 pm

Why pics of him naked?? No matter they are a blessing to the eyes!!!! :D

    1. Booth, of course!
    2. Angel. Booth is too calm most of the times… Unless brennan is in trouble.
    3. Booth… in Two Bodies in the Lab. Come on… he guy was beated up and ran away from the hospital just to save the damsel in distress.
    4. Booth, definetly. Both Parker and Booth playing in the park in this 4th season. Adorable moment.
    5. I can’t decide! But I’m going for Angel
    6. Once again Booth.
    7. Both of them.
    8. Angel… poor guy!
    9. Humm… I’ll give it to Angel. Poor guy has been tortured with a soul while being pretty much dead.
    10. Booth… he has the most tender heart underneath that strong chest. I know it.
    11. Booth, most definetly.
    12. Ahh now I see why the pics… Booth.

    I guess he wins!

  10. Jamer on October 17th, 2008 7:11 pm

Between Angel and Booth, which one…
    1. Is more able to rally a team together? Booth, it took Angel awhile to get used to working with others.
    2. Has better moments of unleashed power? Angel, hello he’s a vampire!!
    3. Has performed the best rescue? Angel (Buffy and Cordy)
    4. Is a better father? Booth – Angel’s son hated him big time!
    5. Has had a better hair evolution? Angel, way sexier
    6. Is more loyal? Booth
    7. Has the best moment of dialogue? Not sure, Angel was sassy but so is Booth
    8. Faces the more seemingly impossible love? Um Angel was sent to dark side because of sleeping with Buffy and longed for Cordy for a long time!
    9. Has the more tortured past? Angel, he’s dead and very old
    10. Is more vulnerable (in a good way)? Booth, he’s human
    11. Is more capable of overcoming great weakness? Probably Booth
    12. Looks better in his gratuitous bare-chested scene? Angel!!!!!

  12. SherlockBones on October 17th, 2008 7:45 pm

    1. Is more able to rally a team together? Booth!
    2. Has better moments of unleashed power? Angel
    3. Has performed the best rescue? Booth, when he digs Brennan out of the sand.
    4. Is a better father? Booth, definitely.
    5. Has had a better hair evolution? I’d have to say Booth on this one too.
    6. Is more loyal? Booth.
    7. Has the best moment of dialogue? I love Booth and all of his little speeches to Brennan…or when he’s making fun of the squints.
    8. Faces the more seemingly impossible love? I’ll go with Angel
    9. Has the more tortured past? This is tough…but I’ll go with Angel
    10. Is more vulnerable (in a good way)? Booth
    11. Is more capable of overcoming great weakness? Booth
    12. Looks better in his gratuitous bare-chested scene? Booth!

  13. Jsh2415 on October 17th, 2008 8:02 pm

    1. Booth
    2. Booth - more startling (end of Woman in the Garden); Angel - more violent (Angel Season 3 - “Sleep Tight” when he goes off on the rock band) - Not sure which of those is “better”
    3. Booth - digging in the ground for Brennan (sigh)
    4. Booth - as far as I know, Parker hasn’t sent Booth to the bottom of the bay
    5. Angel - **loved** his hair
    6. No way to choose on this one!
    7. Angel (so far) - “if nothing we do matters, nothing matters but what we do” and “We [heroes] live as though the world was what it should be, to show it what it can be.”
    8. Angel - That curse!
    9. Angel - come on - 140+ years?!
    10. Booth - Angel holds himself apart (emotionally) and is practically indestructible (physically)
    11. Angel - a little O-positive and everything’s hunky dorey
    12. No way to choose on this one, either!

  14. Manda on October 17th, 2008 9:06 pm

    1. Booth – Angel was always kind of a loner
    2. Angel – vamp attitude all the way
    3. Booth – Gravedigger….plus Angel couldn’t perform CPR to save Buffy
    4. Booth – hands down….his son probably won’t be trying to kill him
    5. Gonna go with Angel – better because there’s been more styles
    6. Booth – Angel tends to go evil occasionally
    7. Angel – simply because Joss Whedon has some of the best dialogue EVER
    8. Angel – come on, slayer and vamp with soul….ultimate Romeo & Juliet
    9. Angel – vamp beats sniper
    10. Booth – can’t explain it……
    11. Booth – again…not sure why
    12. Booth – which surprises me….but simply going off the two pictures you have, Booth doesn’t look scrawny

Okay, there is someone for everyone, someone you’re meant to spend the rest of your life with. Alright, you just have to be open enough to see it … that’s all Angel was more of the strong silent type
    8. Faces the more seemingly impossible love? Angel
    9. Has the more tortured past? Angel
    10. Is more vulnerable (in a good way)? Booth
    11. Is more capable of overcoming great weakness? Booth

p.s. i think you should have had a smoldering look category….if you had, i would have chosen Angel

  17. nicole on October 17th, 2008 9:26 pm

    1. Booth, Angel was constantly always trying to do the alone thing

    2. Booth, when he pushed Gonzalez up against that wall and delivered the gun to his mouth over Bones.or the man who writes about the Gravedigger, how he pushed him onto the desk by his neck, Gawd….Booth is sooo hot!

    3. again..Booth, can’t beat the whole two bodies in a lab, although I think he could have been more concerned during “Man in the morgue”..however..Angel with Faith in the Alley, was sexy.

    4. Booth..I couldn’t stand Angel being a father, in fact I think Angel went downhill after the whole son thing came on the scene.

    5. Angel had better hair

    6. Angel was more loyal,…..Booth there are just times where he is totally clueless to Bones underlying feelings, again..an example..”Man in the Morgue” she could have been raped, brutalized..we didn’t know at first what had happened to her, and yet throughout the ep he was rolling his eyes, and making jokes….

    7. hmmm…best dialogue, thats a tough one..I’d probably have to right now say both, and watch some eps before I completely picked between the two.

8….best face? its the same face? but…in Angel, he was a bit more buffed up, don’t get me wrong, Seeley is buff, and hot, but Angel had a bit more to him, where as Seeley is more slender and buff, Angel was larger than life, I’m gonna go with Angel on this one.

9.Angel has the more tortured past..he ate people, not just shot them.

    10. Booth, I bet you any amount of money, that if Brennan took the first step…you’d see some hot vulnerable action from him.

    11. both…Angel, just threaten his friends..especially Cordy, and you better look out. Booth..just mention that something is going to happen to Brennan, and any frustration he is feeling will come out on you.

    12. Angel

  18. Donna on October 17th, 2008 10:34 pm

    1) Rally the team: Booth - Angel never really had to rally the team. They all knew the mission. Booth can always get the team going.
    2) Unleashed power: Angel
    3) Best rescue: Booth - Angel did a lot of rescuing but none as emotional as Booth’s. Ex: Bodies in the Lab, Gravedigger and when he confronted the gang leader that had put a hit out on Bones, even if that is not your typical rescue.
    4) Better father: Angel - he did not have the chance to be a traditional father but always had Connor’s best interest at heart. Well, except maybe when he found out about Connor and Cordy.
    5) Better hair: Angel - But not when it was TOO long.
    6) More loyal: Equal
    7) Best dialogue moment: Angel - Booth’s “That’s a lot of heart, Bones” was great, but the dialogue between Angel and Spike debating Astronauts vs Cavemen was hard to beat.
    8) Impossible love: Angel - We’re all hoping Bones is not quite so unattainable and she of course won’t turn Booth evil.
    9) Tortured past: Angel - Don’t know enough about Booth’s past yet.
    10) Vunerable: Booth
    11) Overcoming weakness: Booth
    12) Best bare chest: Booth - Leaner and just the right amount of muscles.

DB should feel lucky that both of his TV characters were and are great characters.

  19. DB on October 17th, 2008 10:41 pm

    Hey Seeleybaby!

Between Angel and Booth, which one…
    1. Is more able to rally a team together? Booth, Aliens in a Spaceship!
    2. Has better moments of unleashed power? (feel free to give an example) This one is probably an Angel moment!
    3. Has performed the best rescue? Two Bodies… Oh yes. We totally need another moment like that this season!
    4. Is a better father? Booth is such a wonderful dad to Parker!
    5. Has had a better hair evolution? Oh, Jeez, yes Booth! Season 1 hair was quite interesting, but I did not like it. I love his hair now hehehe.
    6. Is more loyal? Hard to say here… Booth is sweet to the core. Rough exterier, sweet interior… Jeez, look at my answers! It’s all Booth. That wasn’t on purpose.
    7. Has the best moment of dialogue? (and what is it?) Booth & Brennan in The He in the She, talking about “Do you’d like me better as a woman?”
“I think I’d be jealous that you might be prettier than I am.”
“I would be, too. I’d be hot. Smokin’ hot.” Still love it!
    8. Faces the more seemingly impossible love? Angel. Brennan is pretty impossible, but we all know that it’ll happen or we’ll retaliate. Hart knows that. He loves us fans. ;)
    9. Has the more tortured past? So far Angel (but we’re about to learn more about Booth this season, so that may change…)
    10. Is more vulnerable (in a good way)? Booth. He opens himself up to Brennan lots!
    11. Is more capable of overcoming great weakness? Booth
    12. Looks better in his gratuitous bare-chested scene? BOOTH. I think DB is 100X hotter now than when he was younger.

  21. Fred is My Homegirl on October 18th, 2008 12:26 am

    1. Is more able to rally a team together?

Booth – but only because the squints are so eager to get in on the action. It’s harder to get people rallied for vamp slaying and demon hunting – especially when there are trust issues, like Angel abandoning the team to find Darla with no explanation.

    2. Has better moments of unleashed power? (feel free to give an example)

Angel has great, spectacular moments of unleashed power. He also has superhuman strength and fangs, so in my opinion, it’s just business as usual for him. Now Booth on the other hand…
Let me set the scene. Hodgins and Brennan have been buried by the Gravedigger. Booth is fed up with Thomas Vega (the K&R guy) and throws him onto a table with as much casualness as spreading mayo on a bologna sandwich. Then he proceeds (with his hand around the guy’s neck) to calmly explain symbiotic relationships. “If that deadline comes around and my partner is still in the ground, I WILL END YOU.” Yeah, baby! And if that wasn’t enough, here’s the clincher as he tosses him aside: “Three hours to live.”

    3. Has performed the best rescue?

Hmm…this is rough. The image of Angel jumping over the balcony with Cordelia comes to mind. But I’m going to have to go with Booth charging in, sans bulletproof vest, to save Brennan from Kenton. He shot the bad guy and saved the girl. And not only that – but he hugged her like he didn’t want to let go.

    4. Is a better father?

Angel *dodges tomatoes* Hear me out, folks….Angel and Booth both love their sons more than anything in the world – I think everyone can agree on that. But ANGEL let Holtz – his enemy - take his son into another dimension in order to save him. That’s something I can’t see Booth doing. I see Booth doing anything for Parker – but not giving him up.

    5. Has had a better hair evolution?

Angel! Booth’s hair never changes, and Angel takes good care of his hair. Remember when Cordy asked if he had any mousse? And she immediately added, “Of course you do.” Angel also gets extra points for rocking that 1970s hair when Faith and Angelus were lurking around in his past in that diner.

    6. Is more loyal?

Yikes, this is tough. Booth. I think Booth has become more about the people around him than the cause. Angel seems more loyal to ‘the cause’ than to the actual people in his life. I blame the atonement….

    7. Has the best moment of dialogue? (and what is it?)

Booth has so many good speeches racked up – the Line Speech (boo), Crappy Sex, Brain and Heart, More than One Kind of Family….but none of them compare to Angel’s Champions Speech to Connor, the meat of it being: “Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. It’s harsh and cruel. That’s why there’s us. Champions. It doesn’t matter where we come from, what we’ve done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world were as it should be, to show it what it can be.”…..It made me want to be a champion…somehow

    8. Faces the more seemingly impossible love?

Angel, hands down. All Booth has to do is take back that stupid ‘line’ comment. Poor Angel is possessed with the desire to love and the inability to express it fully…without consequences anyway.

    9. Has the more tortured past?

We don’t know too much about Booth’s past, but I’d wager he didn’t spend 100 years in a hell dimension, sent there by Brennan. Angel wins.

    10. Is more vulnerable (in a good way)?

Booth. His vulnerability makes him more appealing. Angel’s always seemed to work against him.

    11. Is more capable of overcoming great weakness?

I’m not sure if Booth has any ‘great’ weaknesses. But Angel overcomes one every day, IMO: he resists tasting human blood. Sure, he has a soul and knows that he’ll feel immediately guilty afterward. But he still knows how ‘mmm…mmm…good’ it would taste

    12. Looks better in his gratuitous bare-chested scene?

Is this a fair question? Haha….Angel. Just because he’s doing his meditative martial arts hoo-hah. I always liked that. Honorable mention to Booth’s abs, though.

  22. jillyjelly on October 18th, 2008 4:57 am

    1. Is more able to rally a team together? Angel got them all to go to Pylea, even Gunn by out pyching him

    2. Has better moments of unleashed power? (feel free to give an example) Angel has so much more power, Angel v Faith ( in 5 x 5 and Orpheous ) are good examples

    3. Has performed the best rescue? Angel willing to give up his life to give Darla a second chance

    4. Is a better father? Angel gave up his son, willing, twice! totally selfless love

    5. Has had a better hair evolution? Booth

    6. Is more loyal? both have it in spades so a draw

    7. Has the best moment of dialogue? (and what is it?) Angel has had too many ( but then he has the better script writter ) but wanting to slay the dragon sticks. But Booth’s ” that’s a lot of heart” was nearly there

    8. Faces the more seemingly impossible love? Angel, duh

    9. Has the more tortured past? again Angel, duh

    10. Is more vulnerable (in a good way)? Angel saying goodbye to Buffy in the sewers and in IWRY and what about when he asked Cordy if they were in love and she turns and walks away

    11. Is more capable of overcoming great weakness? Angel,

    12. Looks better in his gratuitous bare-chested scene? Booth looked good in the clip you have but so did Angel doing the Thi Chi, and he has the tatoo, so am going with Angel

  23. Jill on October 18th, 2008 5:18 am

this is really Joss v Hart ( except for question 12, which DB wins ) and Joss aces it every time

thanks for doing this, really enjoying the nostalgia reading all the responses

Between Angel and Booth, which one…
    1. Is more able to rally a team together? Booth - he’s a better people person.
    2. Has better moments of unleashed power? has to be Angel
    3. Has performed the best rescue? Angel
    4. Is a better father? Booth - angel tries, but doesn’t have the warm and fuzzy required to be a dad
    5. Has had a better hair evolution?
    6. Is more loyal? booth - Booth is about the people. angel is all about the cause above the people
    7. Has the best moment of dialogue? (and what is it?) Angel.
    8. Faces the more seemingly impossible love? Angel. I hope Booth’s love isn’t impossible!
    9. Has the more tortured past? Angel - actual murder. At least Booth had a purpose for the kills.
    10. Is more vulnerable (in a good way)? tough. they are both so wonderfully vulnerable underneath
    11. Is more capable of overcoming great weakness? Angel. Angel’s dark side is so much more intense.
    12. Looks better in his gratuitous bare-chested scene? Booth

    1. Angel is definetly better at ralling a team together, Angel was the leader. Booth while dominant and feirce is not the leader. I would say that would fall mostly in Brennan’s department.

    2. Angel again on this one. When Angelius came out Angel was uncontrollable, let us not forget back in the Buffy days when Angel loses his soul after making love to Buffy. He was a completely different being then.

    3. In performing the best rescue it is definetly with out question Boothe, I believe in the Second Season of Bones when Brennan and Hodgins are burried in the car alive, and the whole team goes to search for them. Booth surveys the areas searching desperately for them and he sees a little burst of debris, he runs down the hill with out saying anything and darts in that direction, and gets to that area and starts scrapping at the ground to try to rescue them. SO AMAZING!

    4. On both cases they were equally good fathers, however as Angels son came back into the picture they often battled, which didnt make him not a good father just not very nurturing. Booth is definetly a better father to Parker. He is nurturing and sensitive and a good provider, always puttin his son before his work.

    5. Well Boothe, has kept pretty much the same dew on this part, so I would have to say Angel, only because of longevity on this character.

    6. Loyalty, thats a tough one… but I will go with Boothe he has always been very loyal to Dr. Brennan.

    7. As for the Dialougue thing, I am not sure, I have no opinion.

    8. Angel faced the more unseemingly love angle. First it was Buffy, obviously that can not work out, he was a vampire and she was the slayer, not to meantion when they made love for the first time he lost his soul. Then there was Cordelia and the series ‘Angel’ and they were definetly a hit and miss couple. When they were about to admit that they loved each other she was taken away, and lost her memory then slept with his son, and then ultimately tried to end the world with here and Connors child. Crazy times. Poor Angel. I hope Boothe is a little more giving in the love department.

    9. Well they really havent brought out much about Boothes past yet so for this one I shall go with Angel as well.

    10. I think the Boothe has a tendency to be more vulnerable especially when it comes to Brennan he gets his feelings hurt when she says inappropriate things, and takes things to heart at times. He is also more vulnerable considering when Brennan dates other men, he definetly has a child like tendencies, trying to include himself in their romantic outings.

    11. Angel is better at overcoming moments of great weakness, that vampire has been beaten down, tortured, and been thorough hell, and in the end his always comes out so much stronger. He went to the ends of the Earth litterally when Connor was taken as an infant in hopes to find his son.

    12. Boothe definetly looks better in his bar chest scene, David Boreanaz has aquired so much more muscle tone, I want to so lick his chest. YUM YUM!

    1) Booth. A lot of times Angel wanted to be solo. Plus, in the physical sense..with the whole GPS thing as well as FBI technology, his team would be at the location in matter of mins and some cases maybe even seconds.

    2) Angel by far..because there are so many to choose from. Booth had two to my memory. One was when there was a hit out on Bones and Booth put his Magnum in the head gangster’s mouth. Another was when Bones was buried alive and questioning the author, out of nowhere slams and holds him on a table.

    3) Booth…I’m blanking on Angel rescues. But the time when Booth injured from an exploding refrigator rescued Bones. As well as the time with the grave digger.

    4) Booth. Angel had great potential but the constant conflict with the son, hendered it.

    5) Better hair evolution? WHAT does that MEAN??? Just for the sake of answering this question i’ll say Angel. Booth has had one style. Angel throughout the centuries has had many.

    6) Angel. This is a tough one. People have said Angel tends to to evil..well thats Angelous. Booth on the other hand is very loyal if you’re on the right side of the law. Otherwise, the squint squad and maybe even Bones would see justice. So Angel.

    7) Booth. Angel’s inspirational speeches before or in the heat of battle vs Booth inspirational speeches to Bones regarding life and human emotions/tendencies during classic B&B time. Sometimes Angel speechs were a little cheesy (forced by writers). Booth’s are more natural from the heart..always hitting me in my heart.

    8) Angel. Angel/Buffy was and is impossible because of their life/jobs. The only thing that stops B&B is B&B. It’s only impossible because of their decision making. Once they choose to make that decision and accept the fact that they do love each other (yes angel/buffy did love one another), then nothing stands in their way..except for the writers, of course.

    9) Angel By Far. Yeah Booth had a bad past and was tortured. Angel was tortured, hated, i think even killed, the whole soul thing…and did i mention Booth’s tortured life has last what, less then 20 years. While Angel had to endure it for centuries!

    10) Angel. We have all seen Booth around Bones. He opens himself up to her and every so often you see that if she made a move it’d be over (around Bones Booth seems “easy” lol). Angel on the other hand is way more closed. There’s that saying, “the bigger you are the harder you fall”. Well relating to Angel..if he did open up all the way..there go the floodgates. I think the end of buffy/angel was more the writers going against Angel’s character (who they created), instead of Angel’s character accepting the “end”.

    11) Angel. Booth is more human therefore more emotional. He posseses the tendency therefore to overthink or overanalizea situation..the possibility of mistakes exist. Angel is sometimes cold and without thinking. These qualities amongst others (all those from being in Hell), give hime a big edge over Booth.

    12) Ok..being a male and all lol…geez. Aight..if I had to choose..it’d be Booth. Angel’s character was writer obviously has having the supernatural powers so no need for DB to be anything but “natural”. Booth’s character is a human being that has to go up against strong, formidable oppenents. Therefore he has to have that “aight, come get some” look. Which DB has in Bones.

Haha, Thanks for being a good sport, Raymond.

I’m so enjoying everyone’s comments, and I can’t wait to tally them up. I think it’s very interesting to hear what people think.

And I of course don’t want to flood the thread with commetns on everyone’s comments, but this comment from Jill got me thinking. She said “this is really Joss v Hart ( except for question 12, which DB wins…” true, Jill…good point…and in the case of DB…I think we all win…hahaha

  28. Becky on October 18th, 2008 7:17 pm

    1. Booth
    2. Angel had more ‘power’ being as he was a vampire but Booth has alot more inner power. He threatened to kill a head gang member who put a hit out on Brennan so…I’d say Booth has more balls.
    3. Booth, hands down.
    4. Booth is a WAY better father.
    5. I guess Angel, only cause Booth hasn’t really changed his hair all that much. But what can you really do with a guy’s hair do anyway?
    6. Booth 100%. He took a bullet for Brennan.
    7. Booth. The one that comes to mind is when Max was on trail and Brennan asked his advice about giving the jury another explanation about what happened.
    8. Angel.
    9. I guess I’d have to say Angel only cause he’s lived ALOT longer.
    10. Booth because well….he’s human.
    11. Booth.
12 Booth. I think he’s actually got more muscles as Booth than he does as Angel.

  29. Chelsea on October 18th, 2008 9:15 pm

    1. Booth is better able to rally a team. Angel’s team just kind of fell together because they had nowhere else to go.

    2. Angel for sure. I mean, Booth can be pretty intimidating, and there have been a few times when I actually forgot for a moment that I was watching “Bones” and not “Angel,” but nothing beats a good ‘guess what, I’m actually a vampire and now I’m gonna kick your ass’ moment.

    3. Angel.

    4. Booth, but Angel didn’t really get much of a chance.

    5. Tie.

    6. Booth.

    7. Angel.

    8. Though Bones may seem impossible sometimes, no love will ever be more impossible or more beautiful than Angel and Buffy, no question.

    9. Well, Angel has a much longer past, and therefore has done more torturing, but Booth already had his soul when he killed people which may cause him to feel stronger regret.

    10. Booth.

    11. Booth, because Angel’s biggest weakness is Buffy and he has still not overcome that.

    12. Angel on “Buffy” > Booth on “Bones” > Angel on “Angel”

  30. cordy on October 20th, 2008 11:01 am

    1. Is more able to rally a team together? BOOTH

    2. Has better moments of unleashed power? ANGEL, well vampire.

    3. Has performed the best rescue? BOOTH (Gravedigger of course, but also Two bodies in the lab and Woman in the garden.

    4. Is a better father? BOOTH. I just love Booth/Parker interaction.

    5. Has had a better hair evolution? BOOTH

    6. Is more loyal? BOOTH

    7. Has the best moment of dialogue? Thats a hard one, but I guess I have to go with BOOTH. The whole BB banter is just too cute.

    8. Faces the more seemingly impossible love? ANGEL

    9. Has the more tortured past? ANGEL

    10. Is more vulnerable (in a good way)? BOOTH

    11. Is more capable of overcoming great weakness? BOOTH

    12. Looks better in his gratuitous bare-chested scene? BOOTH!!!

  31. Nic on October 20th, 2008 11:42 am

    Here we go:
    1. Booth - His squint sqad is just the best, and I believe that they would do anything for him…on the other hand, the guys from Angel Investigations are also all awesome, but I gotta go with Booth.

    2. Angel - I especially love his fight scene with Spike in the last season…both just hot!!!

    3. Booth - More than one…my favourite is still “Two bodies in the Lab”, when he’s barely able to walk and you can see the pain in his face, but he just has to rescue his Bones from the bad guy :), …and he also took a bullit for her.

    4. Definately Booth - all his scenes with Parker are so cute and the things he teaches him are so important…e.g. in “The finger in the nest” when Parker wants to kick down the birds nest with the ball and Booth tells him that it’s sombody’s home.
However, Angel never really got the chance to be a good father…I’m pretty sure he would have taught him well, and not just how to fight :).

    5. Booth

    6. That’s a tough one…not really able to decide, but I’m just gonna go with Booth.

    7. Booth - my favourite one is at the end of “Death in the saddle” when he compares crappy sex to the real thing…though he has so many more….but I gotta admit, I always loved the dialogue between Angel and Spike.

    8. Though it will not be easy for Seely Booth to make Temperance Brennan see that he is the one for her, Angel faces the seemingly more impossible love…being a vampire and all, a cursed one, too.

    9. Again, gotta go with Booth…Angel may have the longer and darker past, but he was bad as Angelus…Booth on the other hand is just a good guy who shot people in the service for his country, he has to live we the nightmares of taking so many people’s lives, even though he knows that they were bad.

    10. Booth

    11. Angel

    12. BOOTH - I can’t forget that bathroom scene in “Pain in the heart”…this man is just hot!!!!

  32. Heirofloki on October 20th, 2008 12:14 pm

    1. Uhm. I guess Booth. Even when he didn’t like the squints per se, he was still willing to work with them if it got the job done.

    2. Angel! The entire show is an ongoing battle between Angel and Doors. And Walls. And pretty much any breakables.

    3. Booth! Digging Brennan out of the sand…it’s about the best rescue I’ve seen on Tv. Period.

    4. Booth. True, his kid has never been stolen by his worst enemy, but still, Booth. The scenes with Parker are gold.

    5. Heeh. Booth.

    6. Uh, this one’s a toss-up. I’ll say Angel just ’cause he had more going against him.

    7. Booth. His monologues always hit you square in the chest. And his conversations with Brennan are hilarious. “My mouth moves, words come out, but none seem to get across the drawbridge to the princess I know awaits inside.”

    8. Angel. Everyone he loves or merely wants is either cursed, possessed or a monster.

    9. Again, Angel. Booth’s had some torment in his life so gar but more than a hundred years of penance make Angel the winner.

    10. Booth. He’s the heart of the operation.

    11. Hmmm…Booth. That scene of Two bodies in the Lab when he lifts Brennan with his broken clavicle is forever etched into my brain.

    12. Booth.

  33. catnapping on October 20th, 2008 1:38 pm

Between Angel and Booth, which one…

    1. Is more able to rally a team together? Angel

    2. Has better moments of unleashed power? Booth, (threatening the gang leader who put a hit out on Brennan. OMG)

    3. Has performed the best rescue? Angel, (kicking in the door to rescue Doyle from the Bachelor Party…so hot.)

    4. Is a better father? Tie.

    5. Has had a better hair evolution? Booth

    6. Is more loyal? Booth

    7. Has the best moment of dialogue? for dialogue, it would be Angel. he and Spike arguing about cavemen and astronauts, hilarious…

and monologue? Booth with his verbal foreplay, explaining the physically impossible to Brennan.

    8. Faces the more seemingly impossible love? Angel (Alluva sudden I’m wondering why Willow didn’t do something about that for him…)

    9. Has the more tortured past? Dunno, yet. Wanna hear more about Booth’s childhood.

    10. Is more vulnerable (in a good way)? Booth

    11. Is more capable of overcoming great weakness? Booth

    12. Looks better in his gratuitous bare-chested scene? Booth, hands down. Boreanaz looks better than he used to, period. He’s one of those fortunate men whose appearance improves with age.
