In the category of ‘best news I’ve heard all day’, the winner is….Jason Batemen confirming the possibility of an ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT movie. E!’s WWK posted the incredible news tonight, and I’m going to let you get the rest of the scoop from her while I start crossing my fingers, toes, eyes…well let’s just say that I’ll be pretzel-like until this movie is given the greenlight.
ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT star, Jason Batemen recently said, “I can confirm that a round of sniffing has started. Any talk is targeting a poststrike situation, of course. I think, as always, that it’s a question of whether the people with the money are willing to give our leader, Mitch Hurwitz, what he deserves for his participation. And I can speak for the cast when I say our fingers are crossed.”
For more on what other members of the Bluth family might be involved, continue reading at Watch with Kristin.
Michael: Keep in mind, we are building something that is not only for our kids, it’s also for George Michael
and Maeby’s kids too.
George Michael: We can’t have kids. What’s the matter? What are you saying? It’s not even an option really.
Michael: Eventually, you’ll want to.
George Michael: Sure, I may want to, you know, now. It doesn’t matter. Either way, I won’t do anything
about it. Come on!

Last year I got to spend a few minutes with NBC head honcho, Ben Silverman, at the ABC Upfronts after party. Back then the NBC job still belonged to Kevin Reilly, and Ben was the guy behind Reveille. After exchanging pleasantries about Ben’s other show, UGLY BETTY, I took a moment to thank Ben for bringing the THE OFFICE to the US. Ben became damn near giddy when he found out I was a fan, and thanked me effusively for supporting the show he loved so dearly. That night I was loving Ben Silverman…now, not so much.
In a recent candid interview with Radar, Silverman pretty much hand delivered grim news for fans of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. Almost evading the question, Ben alluded to FNL’s future, or lack thereof while extolling his love for the also underwatched, 30 ROCK. Silverman was borderline obnoxious while promoting 30 ROCK, calling it the best show on TV (not that it isn’t great, but the BEST show on TV…sorry). Read on and prepare to be saddened and disgusted.
Radar: Quick question! A lot of us are happy that you’ve kept Friday Night Lights on the air despite lousy ratings. It’s totally the best show on TV. But is there going to be another season?
Silverman: Do you watch 30 Rock? That’s the best show on TV.Not regularly. But what about FNL?
Start watching 30 Rock. It’s the best show on TV.I don’t want to watch 30 Rock. I want to watch FNL. I love it.
I love it. You love it. Unfortunately, no one watches it. That’s the thing with shows. People have to watch them. We’re NBC, we have a reputation to uphold. And, man, with this writers’ strike … well, we’ll see what we can do. But start watching 30 Rock.
‘We’re NBC, we have a reputation to uphold’? Um, what reputation is that, Ben? NBC – the network that wasted millions of dollars to bring us BIONIC WOMAN? Let’s not get all high and mighty – you were the guy that single handedly brought back “The Apprentice” and made the show ever worse (although I didn’t know it was possible) by getting a bunch of D list celebs (no offense Kathy Griffin) involved. Way to reinforced the “reputation” of NBC. And don’t go throw the WGA under the bus for this one. Last time I checked the FNL writers were on the same picket lines as the writer for 30 ROCK. Kevin Reilly wasn’t perfect but he seemed way more concerned with the true reputation of NBC. Ass.

Maybe I was just being a chick when I watched tonight’s episode of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, but I cried like an infant. Tonight’s episode, the second to last new episode of the season, is good…I mean really good. All of our favorite Dillon residents (well almost all of them, you can’t expect to see Jason Street two weeks in a row now can you) are featured in their own brilliant storylines.
You know me, I don’t like to give away too much. But I will tell you that Aimee Teegarden once again perfects the role of an average, annoying teenager. Tonight Julie continues her eye rolling and rebellion against her mother, and she isn’t too pleased when Tami’s bond with Tyra grows stronger. But a sweet gesture by Tami near the end will once again show why the Taylor family is so strong. It starts from the top down.
Not benefiting from the family love is poor little Matt Saracen. Be prepared to see Saracen like you’ve never seen him before. Since Carlotta’s return to Guatemala, Matty feels a bit lost and lonely and turns to someone new for life advice and guidance – Tim Riggins. Uh oh. Fans of QB 1 can expect an absolutely amazing performance from our boy tonight, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll be left wanting nothing more than to hug his fears away (and perhaps cop a feel during the hug).
Tyra and Landry are still unsure about how they feel for one another, but Landry seems determined to move on with Jane. These two are adorable together, but is Landry emotionally ready to leave Tyra behind? And is Tyra really over Landry? I don’t want to say much more, but pay special attention to Tyra’s eyes at the scene in her doorway and see if you can read anything into them. I did, and I’m not sure what I saw. Or perhaps I didn’t like what I think I saw.
Tonight’s show really belongs to Smash and Momma Smash. Smash’s movie theater brawl has already left him suspended for the final three regular season games, but he’s just starting to feel the effects of his actions. With all his ego-fueled bluster, it’s easy to forget that Smash is just a kid in high school. Gaius Charles (Smash) and Liz Mikel (Corrina Williams) give amazing performances tonight, and their scenes together near the end warranted a rewind on the TiVo. Amazing!!
I’m always afraid that I’m hyping this show too much, but I really do think tonight’s episode is one of the best of the season. It showcases everything that makes FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS the best drama on TV – the writing, the action and the directing. All are just perfect!!
I hope you like it as much as I did.

As I was heading out last night to watch LOST with friends, I checked my DVR to make sure everything was set to record. Since my DVR is packed with every single episode of PUSHING DAISIES as well as evhttp://www.givememyremote.com/remote/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&post=6576
Give Me My Remote › Edit — WordPressery episode of S4 of THE OFFICE (as well as a few older eps which I can’t bring myself to erase), I decided NOT to record last night’s OFFICE repeat of “Dunder Mifflin Infinity”. I mean, I already had it recorded, why record it again, right?
Well that decision was dumb, dumb, dumb on my part because the show actually featured a brand new, never before scene. A brand new cold open featuring Jim, Pam, Toby and Toby’s girlfriend (whom I’ve heard in the rumor mill is played by the real life girlfriend of Paul Lieberstein) was shown. Now I know it’s only a 51 second scene, but it’s been such a long time since we’ve seen anything new from the Dunder Mifflinites that I was bummed to have missed it.
But the beauty and power of YouTube helps us out again. For those of you who missed it, check out the new cold open from last night’s THE OFFICE.
…and here’s the end tag featuring Halpert and DB!Ryan. Jim says that he had “a lot of fun” last time he was in New York. Perhaps it was the dinner, the broadway show and the sex with Karen. Hey, I’m just saying.
And finally, the new Dunder Mifflin Infinity promo featuring REAL Office fans!! Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKPRtI0eHBA

This is by far the most hilarious I’ve seen since…actually I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anything funnier. I’m a little delayed in posting it because I had to watch it at least 5 times. You MUST check out this video presented to Jimmy Kimmel by his girlfriend Sarah Silverman to mark the fifth anniversary of JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE – it’s beyond hilarious.
For those of you watching at work or with impressionable children around, you might want to throw on some headphones to listen. But you can NOT miss this.

(Warning, by its very nature this post may contain possible spoilers)
Questions, questions and more questions. That’s what we got from tonight’s episode of LOST. But half the fun of watching this show is trying to answer those questions and come up with theories on just what the hell is happening on (and now off) of that island.
Here are just a few things we learned and/or questions raised tonight’s episode, along with my bogus theories surrounding them. Please feel free to add your own thoughts.
[UPDATE: I've added a few more things to ponder, sent to me by my friend Steve, courtesy of Lostpedia.com...damn you can really get caught up in this stuff.]
Are you calling me a HO?
- While playing horse with Hurley, Jack gets the letters “H” and “O”. “H” is the 8th letter of the alphabet and “O” is the 15th – 815
- Behind Hurley as he’s freaking out over Abbadon there’s a small sculpture of the letters ‘HO’ on a shelf.
- Hurley mentions Charlie’s ghost showing up in the convenience store right next to the “Ho Ho’s”.
Who and what are The Oceanic 6?
GMMR’s take: The Oceanic 6 refers to the six people that got off the island. Assuming this is correct, we are talking about Kate, Jack and Hurley as well as three others. We know that Hurley initially went with Locke so who got off the island doesn’t necessarily depend on whether they initially sided with Locke or Jack tonight. We know that The Oceanic 6 have some level of fame as the police officer questioning Hurley called him a celebrity. But who are the other three? My guess as of tonight? Sun and Jin (they are desperate to get off the island as Sun in pregnant, and pregnant women die on the island), and for the last person, I’m going to go with Ben (for reasons that may become more clear after next week’s episode). I think perhaps Ben was in the coffin we saw in the S3 finale. It would explain why Kate didn’t want to attend the funeral. The chances of me being right on this one…probably pretty slim.
Team Locke: Hurley, Claire (and Aaron), Sawyer, Rousseau, Alex, Carl, Ben, Desmond (?) and a few other randoms (probably friends of Nikki and Paoulo’s)
Team Jack: Desmond,Kate, Juliet, Sun, Sayid, Jin, Rose, Bernard, and the rest of the losties who weren’t on Team Locke. (Why did Desmond go with Jack if he was so hell bent on warning others of what Charlie wrote on his hand?)

Tonight’s season premiere of LOST is going to warrant quite the discussion. What’s the fun of watching a show like this if you can’t share your speculation with others. I personally can’t wait to read your comments to find out what thought about the show.
I’d be a fool to pretend that I could properly recap tonight’s episode, but I’ll give it my best shot. If I left anything out or maybe didn’t get something quite right, leave a comment and let me know. Recapping this show is a daunting task and I’m not sure I’m up for the challenge. But for tonight, let’s give it a shot.
In a (rather large) nutshell….
During tonight’s episode we learned that along with Kate and Jack, Hurley too got off the island. The three of them were part of what is known as ‘the Oceanic 6′. The 6 presumably indicates the number of people who made it off the island, but this is LOST so that number could really mean anything. Whomever and whatever the Oceanic 6 are/were, they received some kind of positive notoriety as indicated by Hurley’s declaration to the police that he was one of them, and later when Jack said he still signs the occasional autograph.
Picking up on the mystery we were left with at the end of last season, we know that Jack is tormented by something that happened on the island and thinks they should go back. Hurley too seems conflicted about what happened and also alludes to guilt and regret. This regret may or may not have something to do with Hurley willfully (and thankfully) returning to a mental institution. While in the hospital, a man claiming to be from Oceanic comes to visit Hurley. When Hurley becomes suspicious of his intentions, the man asks him, “are they still alive” (more on this in a bit). Hurley freaks out. Later, Hurley is confronted by “the ghost” of Charlie Pace. Hurley says that he knows Charlie is dead, and “Charlie” says that he indeed is, but he’s still there (whatever that means). When Charlie tells Hurley that there’s something he needs to do, Hurley gets agitated and wishes the vision of Charlie away, but not before Charlie can say, “they need you, Hugo”.
In the future (but not the future future where Jack is a drunk with a beard), Jack visits Hurley in the hospital under the guise of checking in on him. But Hurley knows that Jack is there to make sure he doesn’t say anything he isn’t supposed to. Once Jack is assured that Hurley won’t tell their secret, Jack leaves. But Hurley says, “I think it wants us to go back. It’s doing everything it can…”, but Jack wants to hear nothing more and says that they will never go back. Hurley apologizes to Jack for going with Locke, saying that he should have sided with Jack.
And this brings us back to the island…

Hey, I’m not sure if you heard or not but LOST is coming back tonight. For some reason ABC isn’t promoting it that much, and it’s pretty much stayed off the radar of bloggers like myself. Weird, it used to be a pretty big show.
Of course I kid, and I’m really excited that you all get to see the premiere tonight. It’s fantastic…as is next week’s episode, which is perhaps even better than tonight’s. If you haven’t read my vaguely non-spoilerish thoughts on tonight’s premiere then by all means, read on…LOST is Found Again in the Season 4 Premiere.
But there’s a lot of time between now and when LOST airs tonight, so why don’t you waste some of your workday, school day, or whatever it is you’re doing catching up on what my blogger friends are talking about today.
Second night in a row that I missed AMERICAN IDOL, and second night that I didn’t really care. Sad that I’m boring myself with my indifference. For those of you still interested, I’m once again sending you over to my friend Aaron who has once again managed to find the snark in the painfully boring auditions. (TV with MeeVee)
Amrie over at TheTVAddict.com is excited about tonight’s season premiere of LOST. Check out her top ten mind-blowing LOST moments. (The TV Addict)
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are reunited and it feels so good. Sadly, it’s not behind the Weekend Update desk but rather an Odd Couple-esque comedy called ‘Baby Mama’. I think that maybe these two talented women are a bit wasted in this one…and I don’t mean wasted as in drunk (now that would be fun to watch). (Glitterati Gossip)
For some reason my PROJECT RUNWAY recaps seem to run away from me. I watch the show, take notes, and then by the time I can get a recap up and written it seems like it’s no longer relevant…not that they ever are. So if you are looking for a witty recap of the last PR, check out Jennifer Eolin’s recap (they’re better than mine anyway). (Jennifer Eolin)
While some of us are just getting by with our blogs, Dan from DuckyDoesTV.com has hit the big time. In addition to writing for his own site, Dan is now a contributor to AfterElton.com. Check out his latest recap of THE JANICE DICKSON MODELING AGENCY. (After Elton)
CASHMERE MAFIA and LIPSTICK JUNGLE are strangely similar, and by that I mean they both want to be SEX AND THE CITY. Looks like the people behind the scenes of both shows are still trying to live of the tat of SATC too. (Buzz Sugar)
If you are a frequenter of United Hollywood, you probably saw that our ‘Adopt a Writer’ project is getting some buzz. We have a long list of writers volunteering to participate and those in charge are working really hard to get bloggers and writers paired up as quick as they can. You’ll be hearing more from me on this one soon. For now, check out Adopt a Writer.

There have been many rumors over the past week about the possible end of the WGA strike. I’m choosing not to put much faith in rumors. When the strike is over, it’s over and not a minute beforehand. But if a fair deal were to be worked out soon, some shows could manage to pull together a few new episodes before the end of the season. Sadly, the best new show of this past year, PUSHING DAISIES, is not on that list.Creator Bryan Fuller recently told both E! and TVGuide.com that the nine episodes that have already aired in the brilliant first part of S1, will most likely be all we’ll get…until next season.
“Essentially, even if the strike is resolved in the next week or two, we wouldn’t be back until next season.”, says Fuller. “There was a preliminary conversation that involved a plan to hit the ground running and try to get episodes on the air as soon as possible, but it no longer seems like that’s going to happen. It seems most likely that we will have a very short first season and then come back in the fall for a proper season two.”Fuller goes on to explain some of the reasons behind this decision, “…one is that it will be hard to launch a big promotional campaign for four or five episodes; it’s just not cost-effective. Two is that if we did come back we would land right in the path of the American Idol juggernaut, and would likely be decimated. Three is if we came back in the fall with a full slate of episodes, then ABC could relaunch the show in a big way. The tentative plan now is to start the writers immediately [after the strike is resolved] so we can get some scripts stockpiled, and then hit production in June. But that’s all tentative. We’ve talked about so many options since the strike began and they fluctuate on a weekly basis. But right now a short first season seems the most likely.”
As sad as I am to hear this news, I’m jazzed to hear that ABC would invest in a relaunch of the show and offer an opportunity for more viewers to check out this brilliant series. I’m also hoping we’ll get word that ABC will release the first nine episode on DVD (perhaps with some nice bonus features). A girl can dream.
If you are already a PUSHING DAISIES fan, then I encourage you to check out ThePieMaker.com, the ultimate PUSHING DAISIES fansite. I have it on good authority that ThePieMaker.com will still be reporting on all they latest Daisies news…strike or no strike.

I’m a selfish, selfish blogger, and as a result I couldn’t bring myself to recap last night’s AMERICAN IDOL. Sorry, but I’m so over the audition shows that I couldn’t fathom watching and then trying to find something witty so say about them. I’m so ready for the good singers. We saw a few last night but I’m ready to hear real talent…all the time. Bring on Hollywood Week…please!!
Despite being a bit bored by it all, there was one moment last night that stood out as perhaps the funniest of the young season (at least to me). Did you guys see when that one chick got through to Hollywood despite impressing Simon…she’s doing a talking head with the camera and says: “I’m going to prove Simon wrong and show him that I’m America’s Next Top Model!“. Ha ha ha ha…LOVED it!! I think I watched that scene at least 10 times. It’s the little things.
Although I’m being selfish (and lazy) I know that many of you still want to talk about all things IDOL. To that end, today we have a guest blogger to fill us in on things IDOL. Read on as my friend Aaron (of TV with MeeVee) breaks down last night’s Omaha auditions with the witty banter that I just couldn’t muster. Funny stuff!!
“American Idol” heads to Nebraska tonight, for corn-fed cuties and a midwestern flair to auditions and hopefuls. Paula’s plane is delayed, but they go ahead and get started anyway, with Nebraska’s biggest “American Idol” fan, Chris Bernheisel, of Fremont, Nebraska. (That’s not him in the picture on the right. That’s just some photo I ripped from the Fox site. Yeah, shameless, I know.)
Chris brings the judges some and shows them some pictures of himself with Kelly Clarkson. He tells Simon and Randy “This is the biggest moment of my life,” and that he’s “been waiting for this moment for so long,” before almost bursting into tears with gratitude. Then he attempts to sing “Since You Been Gone.”
Of course he’s trying that one. Can he do it? Of course not. The only time I’ve heard that song butchered more was when I sang it at my girlfriend’s office Christmas party, and that got karaoke banned from all future office activities. Not just at her work- also at the bar that hosted the party.
Chris’ voice may be like a horrible disease, but his enthusiasm is what’s infectious: Simon says he’ll get the kid a gig reporting for the local Fox affiliate from the red carpet at the “Idol” finale. He’s the Nebraskan Ryan Seacrest. Not sure if that’s a good thing or not, but let’s move on. After the jump: More missed notes! Will someone carry a tune?
I’m going to go ahead and reveal right now, even before the jump, that the best line of the entire evening is “I’m going to prove Simon wrong and
show him that I’m America’s Next Top Model! I mean… uh…”
