CBS Saves HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, Cancels MOONLIGHT

Sadly I think JERICHO ruined the chances for MOONLIGHT fans to bring back this show via a fan campaign. And that’s a shame because the MOONLIGHT fan base is strong, organized and vocal. But again, I think CBS has already been burned and I’m not sure they are looking to put themselves out there again.
In the good news department, CBS will be renewing HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER. Fantastic! I wasn’t anywhere near ready to say goodbye to one of my favorite comedies. I wonder how the renewal will affect the Ted/Stella storyline? And can we all agree that Britney Spears did her part to give the ratings a boost. It got picked up. Please don’t have her back. I beg of you.
Other shows rumored to be picked up by the eye network: THE UNIT, THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE, THE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT. Still waiting for word on others like SHARK.
Ok, this is a note to all show runners out there: Alex O’Loughlin and Jason Dohring might be available soon. Book them. Now. These two guys are too talented to go to waste.

Oh no! I am so simultaneously psyched and depressed. HIMYM is my favorite show on television right now, so I am elated that it got renewed (although after the Britney ratings bump, not too surprised). But Moonlight was one of my very favorite new shows this year; I’m really going to miss it. I was, though, the only person I knew in real life who watched it, so I guess I’m not that surprised. Upfront week is an emotional roller coaster!
I am very sad. I loved Moonlight and now Friday night will be crap.
Phew….I was worried about HIMYM!! Glad Brit Brit helped, hope they don’t need her again! I’m not a regular watcher of the other shows - but hope J Doh gets something else soon. One of Rob Thomas’ shows perhaps?
Glad HIMYM is continuing. I just got into that show during the writer’s strike, so it would be a bummer if it got cancelled. I’ve never watched Moonlight, so I can’t give my opinion either way.
Why do they ALWAYS cancel my shows! GAAAAHHHHH!
I haven’t had a Friday night show last since Joan of Arcadia. And that didn’t last nearly long enough. *murders the tv execs*
I am so excited to hear that HIMYM will be back. I have been seriously worried that they would cancel it and now I can breathe a big sigh of relief. I have to second the “no more Britney” advice.

Moonlight used to brighten up my fridays for sure. I was devastated when Moonlight was cancelled. I was reading over on http://www.moonlightline.com about all the plans that the fans have to try to save it. Let’s hope they work.
Well it is now 5/26/2009. Moonlight is on DVD since January 2009. Alex O’Loughlin did a turn on Criminal Minds back in April, did a wonderful job as an OCD killer, a role so different from Mick St. John. Alex is now filming a movie with Jennifer Lopez - pictures and video available online on various fan and tv websites. The movie The Back-Up Plan will be out in theatres January 2010. Alex looks hot. Also, his show is on the CBS lineup in the fall called Three Rivers, he plays a doctor. See CBS website and click on Three Rivers, view it and leave a comment. Hope that CBS treats him better this time around than with Moonlight - it deserved a second season. Also, his movie with Beckinsale is slated for September 2009. Lots of Alex now. Hope he stays on the air.
