GREEK Rush Week: Day 4 – Notable Quotables

August 6, 2009 by

Like a typical college student, yesterday I skipped class. But today’s GREEK Rush Week lesson is all about literature. Famous quotes that have affected history and changed the course of man kind.

Study up on the quotes below because you never know when you’ll be called on in class.

Lesson plan aside, GREEK has some of the funniest and sharpest dialogue on TV today. Just re-reading some of these quotes from the show I was in tears. Hilarious! Cappie of course is the king of the quips, so he tends to get the best lines, but the others are definitely on their game too.

Here’s a few Cappie highlights and then a plethora of GREEK quotes that hopefully give you a sense of the fun that you’ll have by watching!!

As a reward for reading through all the quotes, you’ll be able to enter today’s all new GREEK Prize Pack. It’s a new day. We’ll pick a new winner from the comments we receive. Will it be you?

Cappie: Can we all be mature and just say what we’re really feeling? How the hell could they cancel Gilmore Girls!

Cappie: You know fun. F…U…
Evan
: N?
Cappie
: Nope.. that’s it.

Ashleigh: “You used to be this focused, driven person. When did you become this girl? Someone who sits around pining and making lists, and second guessing your choices? Paging Dr. Grey.”

Casey: Ash.

Ashleigh: “No, wait. You are more like Joey Potte

Casey: “Whoa, ok I get the point.”

Ashleigh: “No, you’re worse. You’re the F word.”

Casey: “Dont’ say it.”

Ashleigh: “Felicity.”

Casey: “You bitch!”

Rusty: “Nope. Still hard Evan. My feelings that is. My feelings are still hard.”

(Talking about the crank generator)
Heath: So do you know how to work this thingy? I was kinda wondering when the cell service will be back.
(Rusty cranks it and it comes on)
Heath: Cool! It’s like magic!
Rusty: Actually it’s a simple crank generator that turns friction into electricity.
Heath: Or magic!

Evan: “I didn’t think the KT’s believed in exercise.”
Cappie
: “Well, we just want to keep our heart rates up for when your mom is in town.”

Cappie: Classes don’t start for a week That’s an entire week of eating, sleeping, drinking beer, watching the entire series of “Full House on DVD.”

Casey: That’s all you did all summer?

Cappie: Of course not, I also watched Jon & Kate Plus 8. It’s amazing how they make it all work.

Ashleigh (while drunk to some guy at Dobblers): Did you steal that shirt from Blues’ Clues?

Rusty (at the speed dating): Yes I’m in a frat but we prefer the term fraternity, you wouldn’t call your country…

Cappie: This is like a slumber party with Jack Bauer.
Rebecca: I know how hard you work to make people think nothing bothers you.
Cappie: Stop! I’ll tell you where the nukes are!

Dale: When I first met you, Rusty, I thought you were a cool guy who cared about important stuff like Comic Con and Nuclear Physics.

Casey: I’m going to stick with the cute guy with the boring cup.
Cappie: Well, that’s what they said at Jonestown.

Egyptian Joe: I could watch Beaver inhale wood all day.

Cappie to Evan: Loading up on wine coolers for your American Girls spring fashion party?

Rusty: (Talking about Casey) How do you know her?
Cappie: Uh, in the biblical sense.
Rusty: Oh, from Church.
Cappie: Yea you could say I’ve been in her church.

Cappie: Tonight, you all become men, but not in the way you might be thinking, we do not have hookers which isn’t to say we didn’t try.

Cappie: Spitter, what are you so afraid of?
Rusty: Rejection, humiliation, and clowns.

Ashleigh: He’s really into it, like planning, shopping, decorating, all that crap. Which is weird for a guy. At least I’ve never met one who was into that stuff who wasn’t… Oh my God.
Casey: You mean he’s…
Ashleigh: Got a crush on me!

Ashleigh: Really, I can’t. I have a paper to write, a project. I’m also growing out my bangs which requires extra sleep.

(After finding out she can’t go pre-med)
Frannie: But what about my dream of becoming a gorgeous but troubled intern in a hospital full of other gorgeous interns, discussing my love life while performing complex surgery, and hating my mother?

(Talking about Dale)
Jen K: I know he has some issues…
Rusty: Some issues? He canceled our cable after accidentally watching three minutes of a Dawson’s Creek rerun.

Casey: (About Frannie) She is delusional! Like Britney Spears in a barber shop!

My favorite quote from above is:

Cappie: Can we all be mature and just say what we’re really feeling? How the hell could they cancel Gilmore Girls!

I love quotes like this when Cappie takes a serious moment and turns it into a joke. Hilarious! Plus I’m a big fan of Gilmore Girls, so this really stuck out to me.

  2. Kyle on August 6th, 2009 11:04 am

Entering to win a prize pack 🙂 I just noticed yesterday the new season starts at the end of the month–I forgot it was coming up so soon.

  3. Alison on August 6th, 2009 11:11 am

right now i’m on season 1, episode 16! i found all of them online on surfthechannel.com. there are a lot of links and i recommend toudou but it takes a little while to load or megavideo but you can only watch 72 minutes and then you have to wait 54 minutes, unless you want to pay for it. i hope that helps someone!

and for the prize- i think the one when frannie is basically talking about grey’s anatomy is my favorite =]

  4. Erin on August 6th, 2009 11:15 am

My favorite quotes has to be during a KT brothers meeting:
All the guys are talking over each other.
    Cappie: Pipe down!
Guys quiet down. Cappie looks at Heath holding a pipe.
    Cappie: Seriously pipe down.

(I can’t find the exact quote, but that’s the gist of it. That always made me laugh hysterically.)

  5. ~Michelle~ on August 6th, 2009 11:23 am

The Rusty quote while speed dating made me laugh…and it shouldn’t…but it did!

  6. Nicole on August 6th, 2009 11:26 am

Oh my god, I love this quote:

Casey: I’m going to stick with the cute guy with the boring cup.
Cappie: Well, that’s what they said at Jonestown.

I died laughing when I first heard that – Cappie does get the best quips.

  7. eelizbic on August 6th, 2009 11:33 am

You’re right, Cappie totally gets all the best quips! Especially when he and Evan are sparring, or even better–pretending to hate each other.

Since we’ve been on a bit of a Greek hiatus, I can’t think of any additional quotes off the top of my head. But even if you hadn’t listed it I would’ve put the “Felicity” quote from Ashleigh–I just love how Casey and Ashleigh are constantly comparing themselves to tv characters as if they’re real people. I do that sometimes too. Plus, you’ve gotta love the whimsy of the writers to constantly be referencing pop culture tv in such clever ways. The “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” skit at the beginning of last season and the reference to how hot the Kostos character was (aka Max) was priceless!

  8. Kristen on August 6th, 2009 11:45 am

Oh man these are hilarious. I love the Dr. Grey, Joey Potter, Felicity one! I also love the “I know her in the biblical sense one” because I watched that episode. I’m only on episode three, but I’m off work after next week so I’m marathoning this show until it premiers! So good.

The quote that made me laugh out loud at work though was:
Frannie: But what about my dream of becoming a gorgeous but troubled intern in a hospital full of other gorgeous interns, discussing my love life while performing complex surgery, and hating my mother?
Haha I love a good rif on Grey’s Anatomy. :]

  9. Alyssa on August 6th, 2009 11:53 am

My favorite is the one where Ashleigh calls Casey “the F word”…Felicity!

  10. Grant on August 6th, 2009 12:43 pm

Rusty: How do you know when you mean it? (referring to love.)
Cappie: I don’t know, I guess it’s a kind of burning, itching sensation. But in a good way.

  11. Grant on August 6th, 2009 12:44 pm

And did I miss Day 3? Where is the link?

  12. strunkette on August 6th, 2009 12:52 pm

I REALLY, really, REALLY, really, REALly, ReALlY, really, Really, REALLY, really, REally (too many yet?) really, really, really, REALLY, REALLY (you know how when you type a word too many times and it starts to look funny? Totally happening right now!) really, REALLY, really, REALLY, reeeeaaaalllllyyyyyyyy want to win! I haven’t watched Greek yet and I want to start, but unfortunately I live in the smallest town ever and can’t rent it. I don’t have quality internet at home so I can’t watch online. It would be SUPER FANTASTIC if I could get the prize pack and become an uber fan!

Every one of those quotes were hilarious and I need to see them in context and straight from their mouths 🙂

This is my desperate plea…please Kath, hook a girl up!!

  13. Elena on August 6th, 2009 1:00 pm

This is by far one of my favorites:

Ashleigh: “You used to be this focused, driven person. When did you become this girl? Someone who sits around pining and making lists, and second guessing your choices? Paging Dr. Grey.”
    Casey: Ash.
Ashleigh: “No, wait. You are more like Joey Potter
Casey: “Whoa, ok I get the point.”
Ashleigh: “No, you’re worse. You’re the F word.”
    Casey: “Dont’ say it.”
    Ashleigh: “Felicity.”
    Casey: “You bitch!”

I was also amused when all the girls are talking about how dreamy Costas is from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Casey was just like: “eh… he’s ok.”

  14. Vanessa on August 6th, 2009 1:39 pm

Certainly the quote calling Casey the “F” word is one of my favorites. I know there have been tons of hilarious lines…just can’t think of one right now. I saw the ad on ABC Family for the upcoming season and this has only made the waiting until 8/31 that much harder!

  15. Marc on August 6th, 2009 1:51 pm

I couldn’t possibly quote it if I tried, but it was from the Homecoming episode this past season (chapter?). Zeta Beta gets paired up with Kappa Tau for the Greek Float contest, and Casey is lamenting that fact that they are going to lose….. unless they go all “90210 Classic” and burn down the Omega Chi/IKI float!!! Shout out, Emily Valentine!!!! BRIZZILLIANT!!!!

  16. strunkette on August 6th, 2009 2:20 pm

Forgot to say my favorite quote from the ones above. I was a die hard Felicity fan and this one made me laugh out loud 🙂

Ashleigh: “You used to be this focused, driven person. When did you become this girl? Someone who sits around pining and making lists, and second guessing your choices? Paging Dr. Grey.”

    Casey: Ash.

Ashleigh: “No, wait. You are more like Joey Potte

Casey: “Whoa, ok I get the point.”

Ashleigh: “No, you’re worse. You’re the F word.”

    Casey: “Dont’ say it.”

    Ashleigh: “Felicity.”

    Casey: “You bitch!”

  17. Marc on August 6th, 2009 2:22 pm

And now, you’ve got me obsessed…. I love when my favorite TV characters mention other favorite TV characters from other shows….

Cappie: This is like being at a slumber party with Jack Bauer.
Rebecca: I know how hard you work to pretend nothing ever bothers you.
Cappie: Stop! I’ll tell you where the nukes are!

  18. Marc on August 6th, 2009 2:27 pm

OH, and the lack of Dale on your list above is appauling!!! Here’s a great Dale quote:

“Gay… homosexual… you know I can work with that, an intensive prayer and vitamin regiment can cure that. You’re a double threat, if I bring an ex-gay, ex-greek to purity pledge, I’m a shoe in to win the chastity cup. Let’s see those other pee pee suckers top that.”

  19. Marc on August 6th, 2009 2:43 pm

Rusty: Right now it’s like I’m in a boy band and I’m the fat one.
    Casey: It’s pronounced, “Fah-tone”.
    —-
Cappie: I haven’t been this happy since Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls.
    —-
Cappie: There is no real world. Just two strangers picked to sit in a room and have their lives taped.
    —-
Casey: You and I, we’ve always stayed in our respected worlds. I never crashed one of your gay camp sleepovers.
    Rusty: Wilderness Excursions!
    Casey: Whatever!
    —-
Cappie: Uh oh. Cartwright clan gone bad? Call Danny Tanner.
    —-
Cappie: Ever notice that it’s about 20 degrees warmer here than anywhere else in the state? We never have to wear coats!
(OMG!!! LOVED THIS QUOTE!!! This show is supposed to take place in OHIO!!!)
    —-

  20. Michelle on August 6th, 2009 2:56 pm

    I love this quote:

    Cappie: You know fun. F…U…
    Evan: N?
    Cappie: Nope.. that’s it.

And of course all of the nicknames Cappie has for Evan..My fave is probably Evanescence. 🙂

  21. Jaime on August 6th, 2009 4:09 pm

My all-time favorite quote is Cappie’s “I haven’t been this blown away since seeing Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls.” I laughed for about fifteen minutes when I first heard it.

  22. Elise on August 6th, 2009 4:12 pm

Since I been recently watching Season 1, I have to go with:

Rusty: (Talking about Casey) How do you know her?
Cappie: Uh, in the biblical sense.
    Rusty: Oh, from Church.
Cappie: Yea you could say I’ve been in her church.

There really are SO many funny lines though. It is really difficult to pick just one.

  23. Julia on August 6th, 2009 4:30 pm

I think my favorite is the Felicity one, but cappie has a lot of great ones to. And Michelle is right, when cappie called Evan evanescence I almost peed my pants laughing.

  24. Jessica Rae on August 6th, 2009 5:43 pm

My favorite quote is a Cappie quote:

Cappie to Evan: Loading up on wine coolers for your American Girls spring fashion party?

I love the references, I love that Cappie KNOWS what American Girls are, and I love how he relentlessly teases Evan. I mean, Chambers 😛

  25. Jen (HIMYM) on August 6th, 2009 6:53 pm

Alright, a fave exchange that hasn’t been mentioned:

(Scene after Casey bails Rusty out of jail after Rusty hit Evan with a pledge paddle)
Casey: I don’t want to be a social piranha.
    Rusty: Pariah.
Casey: What? I don’t know what you’re saying.
Rusty: It’s social pariah. How did you get piranha?
Casey: Look, no one wants to hang out with a piranha.

  26. Emily N. on August 6th, 2009 9:41 pm

Since I am a huge fan of Gilmore Girls I’m definitely going with:
Cappie: Can we all be mature and just say what we’re really feeling? How the hell could they cancel Gilmore Girls!

  27. MD on August 6th, 2009 10:58 pm

I love the quote with the Joey Potter and Felicity references! I just watched that episode on demand the other day.

  28. ShootingStarsMag on August 7th, 2009 12:17 am

Oh wow, so many great quotes. My favorite has to be this one:

Cappie: Classes don’t start for a week That’s an entire week of eating, sleeping, drinking beer, watching the entire series of “Full House on DVD.”

Casey: That’s all you did all summer?

Cappie: Of course not, I also watched Jon & Kate Plus 8. It’s amazing how they make it all work.

    Cappie IS the best.

Favorite quote! So many to choose from….Normally, I would have to go with a Cappie quote – but after reading thru all those above – one of my favorites is Rusty’s line about not calling a fraternity a frat bc you wouldn’t call your country a ……anyway! I was in a sorority in college and when we hung out with the fraternities – they would say that all the time! I remember when he said it on the show….it made me laugh so hard! One of the many things I love about the show – how good and natural the dialog always is…..can’t wait for it to come back!

  30. Jocelyn on August 8th, 2009 6:32 am

I didn’t read through all the comments (tooo many!), but my favourite quote in Greek so far is, weirdly, not courtesy of Cappie, but between Casey and Rusty in the pilot: (can’t remember the whole conversation but the last line from Casey is really my favourite bit, and that’s word-for-word)

Casey “…I’ll be a social piranah!”
Rusty: “Pariah. You’ll be a social PARIAH.”
Casey: “What the hell is a pariah??”
Rusty: “I don’t know.. Why would you think it’s pirahna?”

Casey: “Who wants to hang out with a piranha?!”

    Greek = Love. ^_^

  31. Aimee on September 24th, 2009 3:17 am

absolutely best quote. its my new facebook status.

Ashleigh: “You used to be this focused, driven person. When did you become this girl? Someone who sits around pining and making lists, and second guessing your choices? Paging Dr. Grey.”
    Casey: Ash.
Ashleigh: “No, wait. You are more like Joey Potter
Casey: “Whoa, ok I get the point.”
Ashleigh: “No, you’re worse. You’re the F word.”
    Casey: “Dont’ say it.”
    Ashleigh: “Felicity.”
    Casey: “You bitch!”
