Look up swoon in the dictionary and you might just find this picture of The Office’s John Krasinski

As the lanky, lovelorn cog Jim Halpert on NBC’s remake of the British mockumentary The Office, John Krasinski has won a devoted female following. Turns out the slightly shambling, beagle-eyes actor is also a sensitive lit’ry man. A 26-year old graduate of Brown University, Krasinski is preparing to direct his own movie adaptation of David Foster Wallace’s collection fo short stories Brief Interviews with Hideous Men. “This book changed my life,” he says earnestly.
So did a fateful decision by Brown’s basketball coach, who wouldn’t let the 6’3″ Krasinski on the varstiy team midseason, after he returned from a semester in Costa Rica. Krasinski pursued performance instead, joining an indie sketch comedy group and studying at the O’Neill National Theatre Institue, where he learned that “when you’re in the middle of a Bernard Shaw scene, it’s generally not a good idea to go into a Chris Farley impression.” He’s been toggling effortlessly between satire and sincerity ever since.
This fall, those crazy for Krasinski can catch him in Nancy Meyer’s romantic comedy The Holiday, Christopher Guest’s Oscar spoof For Your Consideration, and the hotly anticipated Dreamgirls. He’s also filming his first big-screen leading role, opposite Mandy Moore in the romantic comedy License to Wed. “It’s rare that someone this talented has so much class and humor,” Moore coos. “There’s no way to say no to a big studio at this stage in the game,” Krasinski says. Besides, “it’s this really sweet, heartfelt movie..and I’m a guy who wears his heart on his sleeve.”

I love JK’s attitude about doing a romantic comedy. I’ve heard other actors talk down about doing romantic comedies. All of The Office cast members seem to respect their fans. Also in GMMR’s interview, JK talks positively about those swoony scenes that we all love. He seems to love his job and his fans. He’ll be around for a long time–especially if we have anything to do with it!

Thanks for posting this LOVELY picture, GMMR. That shirt he’s wearing is just amazing on him. If Jim wore that sorta thing to work on “Casual Fridays” (which we have yet to see) the decision would be made for Pam cause she’d be ALL over him.

Okay, everything that I actually said when I saw the large version of that pic is something that may not be printable here. It went something like “Holy F*#@$&*g Christ”, over and over again.
I have always known he was a beautiful man, but hot damn – he is also sexy as all hell. I agree – we need some casual Fridays this season!!!!
If I loved John Krasinski any more than I do right now, my brain might explode. But seriously, this picture is perfection. I’m a huge fashion freak and I opened the new Elle expecting some ritzy ads, a few anorexic-looking models, and a whole lot of clothes I can’t afford. When I stumbled on that picture… well, you guys know.
