My Day on the set of THE OFFICE (Part II)

My Day on the set of THE OFFICE

It’s Office Thursday (late but it’s still Thursday)!!! I thought I could use our weekly Office Thursday time to share Part II “my day on the set of The Office”. During Part I, I rambled at length about how we spent our day, but what I didn’t really get into was the experience of meeting the cast. And what a thrill it was. So to that end, let’s get to it.

First off I should say that Jennie and I were invited to observe day of filming for The Office. It was a work day for the cast and crew, so despite all the access we had, it wasn’t the time to interview the cast. So I know many of you asked what type of questions I asked – but it really wasn’t about that. Maybe some other time. Sorry that I don’t have any pics of the cast without me, but a girl has to remember the day somehow, right? Feel free to click on the pics to enlarge them (and sorry but one you might have to click again once they are enlarged as they are a bit distorted after the first click). Oh, and I’m really, really sorry about how long this post is. If I were a better writer I could be more succinct – but sadly for you and I both, I’m not.

Hmm, where to begin. I guess I should start with my first cast sighting. The first time I saw a Dunder Mifflinite was actually on the monitors. Pam and Phyllis were having a little chat in the conference room. At first I was trying to place the episode in which this scene took place. It hadn’t really hit me yet that the little TVs we were watching were a direct feed from the next room where they were filming. Within a few minutes I had settled in and was watching Michael, Dwight and the ladies film a scene. And then it happened – the camera panned over and BOOM! there was Krasinski. Now I must tell you that I had convinced myself that John wasn’t going to be on set. I thought for sure he was going to be down South filming Leatherheads. But nope, there he was in all his tall and lanky glory. It didn’t suck.

Me and Ed HelmsEd Helms was the first cast member that Jennie and I were able to meet and talk with. Actually over the course of the day we probably saw Ed more than anyone else in the cast. My first instinct was YEAH Andy is back, and then WOW he looks SO different than he did on The Daily Show – so much younger (must be the lack of glasses). We were chatting it up a little with Ed about his time on TDS, how happy he was by the fans immediate response to Andy, and even checked out some YouTube video of him and his band The Lonesome Trio. Ed was a really sweet guy and I’m so glad he is now a series regular on the show.

As we were talking with Ed none other than Rainn Wilson comes into greet us. Again, someone whose glasses really transform him into someone else. Later in the day I saw “Dwight” but standing next to me in the small little room was Rainn. It was a little strange. I congratulated him on his recent Saturday Night Live hosting gig, and he said it a real blast and that he hoped the whole cast would get to experience it someday.

Within the next few minutes it was like a live Dunder Mifflin stage show. Rushing by the room and on to the set was OscarNunez , Creed Bratton, Phyllis Smith, and Leslie David Baker (who had to get his hair did). They all gave us a little wave and then disappeared on to the set. Bizarre – it was just bizarre.

Me and Creed Bratton Me and Leslie David Baker Me and Phyllis Smith

Jennie and I continued to chat it up with the writers and the ladies from NBC while watching them film in the next room. At one point I felt that someone else had joined us and I turned around to find that indeed someone had – Steve Carell!!! Seriously, Steve Carell was just standing there and I was slowly questioning what I did in life to be this lucky. We were introduced and he asked us where we were from. Once again my Boston connection made for a nice conversation as Steve noted he grew up not too far away from where I live, as did his wife Nancy. Steve was just as wonderful as you would imagine him to be – very nice and naturally funny. And very handsome I might add. This wasn’t our only time with Steve that day, but more on that later.

It was during one of the first full cast breaks where we got to meet the ladies of Dunder Mifflin that we chat with the most – Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey and Kate Flannery. We were greeted with great big hugs and instantly felt so at ease with them. They couldn’t have been sweeter. Angela gave us a little fashion show and shared some stories about the outfit that Angela is wearing in this particular episode. Funny stuff. Ok, I have to say this – these women are tiny little things. Now I always thought they were small, but they are thin mints!!

Me and BJ NovakA few of us were chatting in the hallway when BJ Novak joined us. Not sure how he knew who I was but he greeted me with a high five and a shout out to Newton (holla!). The first thing I noticed about BJ – his baby blues. Seriously that guy has some amazing eyes. I see why maybe he got the hottest in the office award. We talked for a few minutes about when he’s coming home and the fact that we frequent some of the same bars. I’ll keep my eye out for him. Let me just say this – BJ was the one person I was a little anxious to meet. I think I was a little intimidated by him, and in hindsight I think I was projecting Ryan Howard on to BJ (and I think you know by now that I kind of think Ryan is an asshat). But he ended up being really nice and was a pretty laid back guy.

It was nearing lunch and getting closer to the time that Jennie and I would be able to jump on set and explore first hand the world of Dunder Mifflin. Now by this point in time we had met all the cast members except for Rashida, Brian, BJ, Paul and John. I took a moment to use the ladies room and in walks Phyllis. I mean how weird, right?! We chatted for a few minutes about how much fun it was to shoot the wedding, and she told me how very nice Bobby Ray Shaeffer (Bob Vance) was (something I learned for myself later that weekend). Later in the day Jennie and I got to spend some nice time with Phyllis and she talked about how happy she was to be a working actress and how she’s just starting to get recognized by fans. Aw, I love Phyllis.

When I joined Jennie back in Greg Daniels’ office Rashida Jones and Brian Baumgartner were there. I only got a quick second to say hi to Rashida. But that girl is ridiculously good looking. I mean a perfect blend of gorgeous and cute. And her skin…don’t even get me started. She’s very exotic looking. I wonder if her dad was a GI?

Me and Brian BaumgartnerBrian Baumgartner was just as nice as I expected him to be. He’s so very different than Kevin Malone. His mannerisms and especially his voice – I definitely didn’t feel like I was talking to Kevin at all – and I’m sure that’s a good thing. He talked about how he and John (and Mindy) recently came back from License to Wed reshoots in Vancouver. I think he was taken back by how much I knew about the particular scenes they were reshooting. Hey, movie extras have blogs too and people send me anything & everything related to JK so I knew all about it. Can’t wait to see Brian on the big screen!!

Me and John KrasinskiOk, so here it is. The moment you have all been waiting for. My very first face-to-face meeting with John Krasinski. Are you sitting down? This is a big moment. Well ok, not that big. I’m not sure what I imagined my first encouter with John Krasinski to be like but I know violins and doves flying overhead somehow played a part. So I was talking to Brian in one room and when I went back into the hallway, there John was, talking with Jennie. I didn’t want to interrupt so I kind of held back a bit. By process of elimination I think he knew who I was. When I first entered the hall I could see him kind of look at me out of the corner or his eye. No doubt he was thinking ‘damn, why can’t one of these girls obsessed with me be at least somewhat hot’. Ha ha…oh well. Meanwhile I was thinking “please let him NEVER have read GMMR” while simultaneously wishing I could go back and “redact” every fangirl gushing comment I ever made about him. No such luck. After a minute or so he looked right at me and said “Kath?”. Yes…yes…that’s me. I stuck out my slightly shaking hand to properly introduce myself and he said “aw, come on now” and then pulled me into a famous Krasinski!Hug (TM). Yes, we’ve seen him to do it on TV, but it’s so much better when you are on the receiving end of it. We made small talk for a few minutes (about what, I really can’t say…I was in a little bit of a daze to be honest). John was heading off to lunch but asked if we were going to be around later because he wanted to have the time to talk to us a little more. Oh I’ll be around John…don’t you worry about that.

As the cast broke for lunch Jennie and I played on the set (see Part I). When we were through we headed over to lunch. We grabbed some delicious food and then joined some of the cast. Jennie chatted it up with Angela and Oscar and I spent my lunch talking to Kate. Guys, Kate Flannery could not be any nicer. She kept thanking us for being on set. Thanking us? Oh no, thank you!! Let me say this about Kate -they really downplay her looks on the show. They put Meredith in all these drab oversized clothes that really don’t show off what a skinny minnie Kate really is. And from someone who sat in the front row of The Lampshades while Kate rocked a skintight one piece jumper I can tell you that she looks fantastic!

After lunch, Jennie and I headed back over to the set with Ms. Kinsey. She was SO cute I just wanted to pick her up and put her in my pocket. That Texas accent was adorable. After playing around in the Office Tally chat room for a bit, we headed outside and over to Angela’s trailer. Since she was on her way to the hair and makeup trailer, she invited us along to check it out. We walked in and was greeted by big smiles Phyllis, Leslie, Brian and Rashida who were getting ready for the next scene. Sadly my first thought upon entering the makeup trailer…what I would give to get Rashida Jones drunk and get her talking. The questions I would ask… ha!

Me, Jenna Fischer and Rainn WilsonJennie and I headed back to the set and hung with the crew for a bit. Next thing you know, in walks Rainn, Jenna and John. They came back to set a little early to hang with us…how nice is that?! The camera started going crazy at this point. We started taking some fun action shots around reception (in one of the pics below Jenna said we should put on Pam frowns, but I just couldn’t do it. It was not possible for me to hide my dorky smile). Rainn volunteered to take some shots (he actually took the ones below of John and I and the one of me with John & Jenna). We got some moreMe and Pam Beesly time to talk to them and it was so much fun. John asked me how Boston was these days, and then broke into a cute Boston accent. I asked him about the rumor that his rel life parents were playing his on-screen parents in “License to Wed”. He confirmed it was true and said they were so great in it. The only downside was that John said he need to go through his father’s agent to talk to him now..ha ha. Not sure why, but I asked him how he felt about being called JKras (oh I know why because I’m a huge dork). He said he actually really liked it, and it was funny that the fans went with it because his nickname is high school was actually Kras. Aw.

Me and Jenna FischerJenna and I talked about her preparation for Walk Hard her upcoming film with John C. Reilly. She said she was taking singing lessons and she a little nervous but a good nervous. And expect to see Pam Beesly with some big ‘ol country hair courtesy of the wig Jenna is wearing in the movie. I can’t wait!! We talked a little bit about Blades of Glory. I told her that she was featured in one of the new trailers (she didn’t know) and watched her blush when I told her the scene was of course her in the lingerie. Jenna – if you’ve got it – flaunt it. I almost forgot to tell you- Jenna had been on GMMR in the days leading up to my set visit, and she read the post where I mentioned that I wanted her to leave the outgoing message on my cell phone. She sought me out and totally recorded “Dunder Mifflin, this is Kathie” on my cell. We both listened to make sure it worked (and it did), but something happened and it’s lost for good. I’m so bummed. But how nice of her, right?!

It was time to film and for Jennie and I to head off set.

Throughout the day the cast would come in and out of the room and we shared some small talk. Later in the afternoon we got a little extended one-on-one time with my boys John and Steve.

John KrasinskiLike the time we spent with JKras wasn’t already amazing, we got some more QT in later in the afternoon when John had some downtime and was hanging in the hallway. We were talking about his schedule and he was telling us all about working with Clooney on Leatherheads. Without getting into all the details of the conversation, let’s say that John thinks quite highly of his big screen co-stars and is truly grateful for the experience to be directed by George Clooney. Oh, and John really has NO idea how talented he really is. He’s so humble – it was adorable. At one point I mentioned how BIG the movie was down in Greenville where they are shooting. He said that they were all there for Clooney and no one really cared about him. Obviously John doesn’t read the fan accounts – people are plenty excited to see JKras in their little town. Jennie made note later about how quiet I was when we were talking to JKras. To be honest I was just trying to take in the moment and trying not to embarrass myself. If I kept my mouth closed there was really little chance of me screaming out “marry me”. It was hard to keep it together – especially when he was doing the lanky door lean (and there are plenty of you who know EXACTLY what I’m talking about).

Me and Steve CarellFast forward to a bit later. Since he had been done with his scenes for awhile, Jennie and I assumed Steve Carell had left for the day. We were super excited when he stopped into the office to chat with us for a few. Listen, there is no way for me to properly express how impressed I was with Steve Carell. I mean here he is, one of the biggest movie stars out there right now, and he could not have been more gracious, humble and down to earth. We spent a good amount of time talking about his career and how busy things are for him now (he just recently finished “Evan Almighty” and “Dan in Real Life” and is starting “Get Smart” very soon – all in addition to his work on The Office). What really stuck with me was how appreciative Steve was for this point in his career. He mentioned more than a few times that this was just a phase and that this time next year he probably wouldn’t be getting these roles so he had to take it all while he still can. Despite being very busy he said it was all worth it because he really feels like he’s doing this all for his family and providing for their future. I mean really, he couldn’t have been any more impressive.

Steve, Jennie and I snapped up some pics and then watched John, Rainn and Jenna film a hysterical scene. Steve laughed just as hard as Jennie and I did and made a point to mention how happy he was with the show and how much he truly enjoyed his costars. He said he has never had so much fun at work. I can see why.

Responsible DrinkingI’ve been a big fan of Steve Carell’s for a long time now. I was one of those Office UK lovers that thought the US version was going to be a joke. I only sat down to watch the pilot to see what show could possibly be worth Steve Carell leaving The Daily Show for. I knew that if I ever met Carell I was going to ask him about my favorite Daily Show moment of all time – ‘Responsible Drinking’. For those of you who haven’t seen ‘Responsible Drinking’ stop what you’re doing and click here to watch it RIGHT NOW!! To show the ill effects of drinking Stephen Colbert documented Steve Carell as he got absolutely hammered in a bar. I’ve always wondered if Steve was actually drunk or faking it. I got my chance to ask him after all these years and found out that he was indeed that drunk. The part of him getting drunk and puking in Colbert’s car…all true. The way he told the story was so funny. It was fantastic.

Me and The BobbleheadRainn Wilson was kind enough to bring Jennie and I a little present later in the day. A signed “prop” for the episode they were shooting. I can’t tell you what it is now, but I certainly will after the show airs. Actually after you all see the episode, I can’t wait to share a few more behind the scenes tales.

Like I mentioned in my previous post, there came a point in the day where it became normal to see the cast walking the halls or stopping in to say hi. I think they got used to having us there too – at least I hope they did.

Me and Paul LiebersteinOur last cast member introduction came close to the end of our day. Paul Lieberstein had spent most of the day writing but came over to Stage 3 later in the day to film some scenes. Toby!! YES!! Paul is just as adorable as Toby, but perhaps with a little more pep to his step. We talked a little bit about the Pam storyline and I asked about Toby’s hot date from the wedding (I’ll email Paul and find out what I can share). I was really excited to meet him because really…I mean it’s Toby Flenderson.

Our most wonderful day ended around 6pm when the cast finished up and left for the day. It was sad to leave knowing that it was really over. Hopefully we can find a way to score an invite next season. Fingers crossed.

If you are still reading this then damn you must be a fan of The Office. I do apologize that I’m not more succinct in my recap of the day. Much like my Part I post, this is all very self indulgent. Hey I’m not a writer – never have been never will be, but I hope I shared enough to give you the sense of what an incredible fan experience it was.

And that my friends…is my day on the set of The Office.

This is my first time posting on GMMR, but I have been an avid reader since the beginning! I had to come out of lurk-dom to give props to the one person who loves JKras more than I do (didn’t think it was possible)! I could see the sparks between you two in the photo πŸ™‚ I have to say, I was more than a little jealous (don’t tell my boyfriend!). Thanks for sharing so much great detail about your set visit. I really felt like I was there, too! It’s great that the cast is so down-to-earth and accessible to their fans. I didn’t think I could possibly become an even bigger Office fan than I already am, but I think I just did! Thanks SO much!

  2. samsmom on March 8th, 2007 9:06 pm

How awesome was your day! I am so happy for you that you got to visit the set. Makes the whole running a website thing worth it, huh? Thanks for your recap. It wasn’t long at all. I can’t wait for your behind the scenes info about the episode.

  3. Claudia on March 8th, 2007 9:15 pm

GMMR, I’m not sure where you get the idea that you are not a great writer. I really love your writing. I always feel like I’m listening to a friend tell a story. I think you have a great sense as to the level of detail the fans want to hear. You are passionate about what you write. Because of GMMR and my high opinion of you I first started watching The Office. Then later Everwood and Friday Night Lights. Don’t be too hard on yourself because it’s unfounded.

  5. Angelica on March 8th, 2007 9:16 pm

You needn’t worry about the length of this re-cap of your day. It is great. And once again, it sounds like you had an incredible time! Thank you so much for sharing this with us:)

Kathie, thanks so much for the great recap! And those pictures are GORGEOUS! You’re so photogenic! Or maybe it’s just the office inspired glow that comes from being in the vicinity of such awesome talent? So glad to hear that the cast is exactly as they appear: totally awesome and down to earth! Thanks again for keeping us all in the loop and sharing your experiences with us!

  7. GMMR on March 8th, 2007 9:21 pm

Claudia – Sorry I didn’t really get to chat with you after The Lampshades. There were so many people there. Sounds like you had a wonderful time in California as well. Congrats to you on all your fun!!

  8. Jenny on March 8th, 2007 9:22 pm

Wow Kath!! That was worth the wait. Can’t wait to hear more about it after the episode airs. You’re so lucky! And I can def picture the lanky door lean. πŸ™‚

  9. Melody on March 8th, 2007 9:23 pm

Hey, a writer is someone who writes! Thus, you are a writer.

I certainly read every detail of that. I’m still searching for a way to reconcile my intense jealousy and my extreme happiness that “Office” fans get to have these opportunities, and that I get to live vicariously through your (incredibly well-deserved) experience.

I can’t get over how genuinely great the people who work on “The Office” are, but I know it makes me love the show even more.

  10. aly on March 8th, 2007 9:29 pm

    Hi GMMR!
Great recap. Just a comment about Rashida’s parentage- her dad is Quincy Jones and her mom is Peggy Lipton. Don’t think Q was a GI! But she is gorgeous. And lucky her for getting paid to kiss JKras!

  11. Lisa on March 8th, 2007 9:29 pm

thank you for allowing me to live vicariously through your posts.

i know what you mean about being a bigger office fan now than ever (after paley, i’m so gaga over these folks and their work…)

totally jealous and all those other unflattering emotions!

  12. Carly on March 8th, 2007 9:30 pm

AH! steve was really drunk!? hahahahaha!

    im extra jealous of youuu!

  13. RC on March 8th, 2007 9:32 pm

No mention of Mindy. Was she not on the set that day?

  14. kari on March 8th, 2007 9:35 pm

I would have read it if it was 10x longer. Great recap! I can’t wait to here all extra stuff you can tell us after the episode airs!

One quick question? Wig or no wig?

  15. halfbaked on March 8th, 2007 9:42 pm

Kath, don’t sell yourself short. You’re a great writer.

As far as being succinct, that is not what we readers want. We want blabby. We want aaaaaall the details.

I’m so glad “The Office” staff lived up to your dreams. Thanks for sharing every moment with us.

  16. JoJoJo on March 8th, 2007 9:46 pm

Honestly, Kath, I could not be happier for you and Jennie. You are so deserving with all of the PR you do for “The Office”. I loved your account of your day and the pics were incredible! I’m sure this day was better than 10 Christmas’!

    Congratulations.. and great recap!!!!

  17. NeverEnoughJam on March 8th, 2007 9:49 pm

What a fabulous set visit! Congratulations on a wonderful day, and thank you so, so much for sharing it with us. Loved it when JK said “aw, come on now” and did the hug. He sounds like such a sweet guy! And Angela’s Texas accent is adorable in her videos; I’m sure in person it was even cuter!

This kind of minute-by-minute detail of an actual working day on the set is exactly what I wish they’d put on the DVDs. Le sigh.

Congrats again, kath, and thanks once more for sharing it with us!

  18. Sarah on March 8th, 2007 9:52 pm

Thank you so much for telling all about your fantastic day. While I know I will sadly never make it through the doors of Dunder Mifflin, reading your experience on the set is almost like I was there. I’m so happy to hear that the cast and crew is as wonderful as they seem. And congrats for not fainting while talking to the lankiness that is JKras! And I’m glad you asked about the Daily Show drunk segment…I’ve always wondered that myself!

Also, I love your jacket. It looks great on you.

  19. CrazyGringa on March 8th, 2007 10:31 pm

Congrats on your set visit again and thanks so much for writing this stuff for us to read!!

  20. Jennifer on March 8th, 2007 10:46 pm

Kath, you have no idea how anxious I’ve been to read this part 2! It’s nice to hear the cast *really is* as they appear to be. I’m happy you and Jennie got to visit the set – you do a lot for the show, heck NBC should hire both of you to do Office PR work πŸ™‚ A set visit is a great reward for all your hard work.

  21. DerbyCity on March 8th, 2007 11:10 pm

Kathie, thank you so much for taking the time to write all that in such great detail- I wouldn’t have wanted anything less! It’s all the little details that make us feel like we were right there with you. I squealed and pounded on the computer desk when I got to ‘aw, come on now’ and the hug!!! I don’t know how you didn’t just pass out right then.

  22. Denise (ddker) on March 8th, 2007 11:17 pm

That all sounds so awesome Kath!! And I must say, I stayed up way to late to read this when I have to get up ealry (4am) after having the rest of this week off and being used to sleeping in! Oh well, it was totally worth it!

  23. Stephanie on March 8th, 2007 11:22 pm

  24. Leigh Ann on March 8th, 2007 11:25 pm

Thanks for the wonderful recap of your Office day, Kath!!!

I didn’t think it was too long at all… in fact, if you think of anything else you can tell us, then please, by all means do!

  25. Laura on March 8th, 2007 11:34 pm

    Greetings from snowy Minnesota!

I’ve been waiting all week for Part 2, and you didn’t disappoint, GMMR! Though people have already said it, your recaps have been fabulously written – full of enthusiasm, fun tidbits, great observations, and humor. I was recently able to see most of the cast at an awards show in LA, and I thought THAT was awesome. I can’t even imagine how your experience must’ve felt!

I’ve only known of your site for a little over a month, but I’m addicted to it! Thanks for all you do for fellow fans! You seem so deserving of all the happiness and excitement of the past few weeks. πŸ™‚

  26. Kristi on March 8th, 2007 11:34 pm

awww that was so great Kath, thank you for posting it! It put a huge smile on my face when John pulled you into a hug

  27. Dani on March 8th, 2007 11:36 pm

Wow…just wow. What an amazing day! And your recap was awesome, and I don’t know how I would have reacted around JKras (I totally love that he loves the nickname). I would probably say that I had so many things to ask, but I probably would have been kind of quiet just like you were. That’s a lot to take in!

Also, I have never seen that Daily Show clip of Steve, but it is priceless! Thanks for the link πŸ™‚

  28. cure619 on March 8th, 2007 11:48 pm

thank you baby jesus this is finally up! Thank you for putting the time into telling us about your experience. I have been looking forward to it and it was worth the wait.

  29. secondrink on March 9th, 2007 12:38 am

*sigh* This just makes me all kinds of happy πŸ™‚ So glad this is up; I’d been waiting with bated breath for your JKras (apparently that is the right word) recap. Have you even come down from all this yet?

  30. Kris on March 9th, 2007 1:25 am

Amazing! Great recap and pics! I’m so happy for you! Sounds like such a blast. The cast seems so cool, too =)

Meanwhile I was thinking β€œplease let him NEVER have read GMMR” while simultaneously wishing I could go back and β€œredact” every fangirl gushing comment I ever made about him.

That line cracked me up! I gush over him all the time, and i especially love gushing w/ you when i read everything you write, so it just made me super happy that you got to finally meet him! ^_^ He’s so cute (as are the rest of the cast). And that Jim face. Sigh. Helms’ picture, also: he looks really really good in the pic (not like he never did look good, but that’s a great pic of him). Very nice pics of everyone! Can’t wait for any behind the scenes info (after the episode airs, of course)!

  31. Lauren on March 9th, 2007 1:31 am

OH MY GOD Responsible Drinking is the best thing ever…Colbert and Carell need to make a movie together or something, they are unreal the way they feed off eachother.

So jealous of your day! πŸ™‚

  32. Melissa S. on March 9th, 2007 8:11 am

    Kathie,
It is amazing that you were able to experience a set visit to the office and meet everybody! And THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing this with us all! I don’t think i could say that enough! You did an amazing job writing up your visit. And for me, the longer the better. I felt your excitement at meeting JKras and your “marry me” thought…you rock! I would have been a dribbling mess. The cast all sound SOOO nice and i can’t wait to find out what piece of office Swag you got to take home.
    Thank You!

TOO LONG??? Are you kidding me??? It could have been ten times longer and I still would have hung on every word. Once again, thanks so much for sharing your experiences with all of us!!!

    One question: Where was Mindy?

  34. GMMR on March 9th, 2007 9:17 am

Sorry…I guess I didn’t mention Mindy is part II. We only saw her briefly and I mentioned her in part I.

I’ve been waiting for part duex and I am not disappointed! SO can you tell us one thing, Kath? Did you observe and Jam action at all? Just say yes or no, you don’t have to tell what it was. Also, Phyllis and Pam filming a scene? Hmmm, could Pam be opening up? OK, one more thing, are John and Rashida dating? I am sure you know the answer!
    Love ya, GMMR!

You are SO lucky! Thank you for the account. Steve is just so cute and after meeting him, the humble thing comes across so well. Thanks for asking about Responsible Drinking, its good to know that was true. The Office cast is still the BEST cast ever.

Congratulations GMMR!!! Such a fantastic description- what a day you had! Those office kids sound ridiculously down to earth and kind, which is so wonderful to hear. You did us proud!!!

  45. Lucky on March 9th, 2007 1:26 pm

How good is your life. Thank you for this wonderful recap. I really feel like I got to spend the day on the set of the office. I don’t know you or John, but from what I know about him and what i sense about you, I think you would both be friends in another life. Doesn’t he remember that he promised you a drink at the bar in Boston?

  46. dada95835 on March 9th, 2007 1:45 pm

Hey GMMR – loved the recap! I am officially jealous of you! I liked Part I, but Part II was awesome! It’s so wonderful to hear that the actors we enjoy are nice, down-to-earth people. Makes me like and appreciate them even more! I’m really happy that you got that experience and shared it with us. Thank you!

Thanks for the awesome recap! It wasn’t too long – it was perfect. Actually, I would have kept reading if it was 10x as long. Aw, you got to me JKras…be still my beating heart. I really am envious of you! And…I love your website. I think all of your comments are spot on about everything. I think we should be best friends! πŸ™‚ (that’s not meant to sound pathetic, creepy and weird…even though it might read that way…seriously…)

Awesome! Thanks so much for sharing! I would have read it no matter what the length of it was. You can’t leave out any details!! And shame on me, I had never seen ‘Responsible Drinking’ until now. Even funnier knowing he was actually that hammered. Thanks again for sharing this awesome day with us! I am so happy for you and Jennie!! πŸ™‚

WOW! Yes, the part about you meeting jkras was definately where i was trying to scroll down to, but it was all awesome. I’ve only met famous people probably once, so reading about other people it’s just so exciting! I can’t believe jkras said that and hugged you! UGH, we’re all happy and jealous at the same time hehe. I’m sorry about your voicemail, but that’s awesome that she did that. I’m just so happy even though i’m all the way down here in texas πŸ™‚

By process of elimination I think he knew who I was. When I first entered the hall I could see him kind of look at me out of the corner or his eye. No doubt he was thinking β€˜damn, why can’t one of these girls obsessed with me be at least somewhat hot’.

Kath are you kidding me? You look amazing in all those pics! And come on! Looking good next to all those hotties…lord I would have been a hot mess from the nerves…I am so happy for you and not the least bit jealous…really. Congrats and yes please share all the juicy details once the episode airs. Also, maybe you could e-mail me with the little bit of info which I’m sure you picked up but may be too “professional” to write about. *wink-wink*
