ABC Pushes OF KINGS AND PROPHETS, Slots QUANTICO on Sunday

ABC has made a change to its expected 2015-2016 fall lineup.

A rep for the network has confirmed that OF KINGS AND PROPHETS has been pushed (per ABC, due to “casting changes”), and QUANTICO will take its Sunday at 10 PM slot. (ABC also says that what will air in QUANTICO’s planned Tuesday slot is TBD.)

THE ASTRONAUT WIVES CLUB: ABC Sets June Premiere for the New Drama

ABC has (finally) set a premiere date for its newest drama, THE ASTRONAUT WIVES CLUB.

The series — based on the book with the same title by Lily Koppel — will bow Thursday, June 18th at 8 PM.

THE ASTRONAUT WIVES CLUB follows seven women who were “key players behind some of the biggest events in American history,” per ABC. “As America’s astronauts were launched on death-defying missions, the lives of their young wives were transformed, seemingly overnight, from military spouses to American royalty. As their celebrity rose, and tragedy began to touch their lives, they rallied together.”

The ABC series stars JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Yvonne Strahovski, Dominique McElligott, Odette Annable, Erin Cummings, Azure Parsons, Zoe Boyle as Jo Schirra, Desmond Harrington, Bret Harrison, Wilson Bethel, Kenneth Mitchell, Joel Johnstone, Sam Reid, and Aaron McCusker.

SELFIE won’t be continuing on at ABC: the network has opted to not order a back nine for the freshman comedy.

Personally, I’m really bummed by this, because the show was getting stronger by the week. (And the last two episodes that aired were fantastic.)

ABC has pulled MANHATTAN LOVE STORY from the schedule, effective immediately, a rep for the network has confirmed. This makes the comedy the first canceled series of the 2014-2015 season. (SELFIE will air back-to-back episodes to fill the MLS gap.)

FOREVER: Matt Miller on the Procedural’s Tone, Character Dynamics, and More

There aren’t a whole lot of crime procedurals on tap this season, but one of the ones I enjoyed the most was ABC’s FOREVER. (Which you may have seen since ABC put it online early.)

Ioan Gruffudd is effortless as Henry Morgan, a medical examiner who is fascinated with death for a good reason…he can’t die. The show is breezy, fun, and in the couple of episodes I’ve seen, it has been a fun mix of “case of the week” and dealing with the on-going mythology.

I sat down with FOREVER creator Matt Miller (who has previously worked on CHUCK, HUMAN TARGET, and 666 PARK AVENUE, to name a few) to talk about the tone of the series, the cases that are ahead, Henry’s relationships, and more… (And, warning, there are a few minor pilot spoilers in here.)

Which 2014-2015 Television Trailers Are You Rewatching?
