Cady McClain is pulling double-duty on television this week: In addition to returning to the role of Jennifer on Peacock’s DAYS OF OUR LIVES, she’s also guest-starring on NBC’s LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT on Thursday, February 16.

In SVU’s “Dutch Tears,” “I play Patty, the wife of a corrections officer [Captain Pete Ryan], who’s played by Mark Borkowski,” McClain previews to Give Me My Remote. “Fin and Bruno come to our house. And we think that they’re seeking my husband’s help. Then we find out they’re actually interrogating him.”

This marks the second time McClain has appeared on the NBC drama (she played Alice McCain in 2004’s “Outcry”), but marked her first real experience working with Ice-T, whose character is at the forefront in the hour.

“I’m excited for him—it really centers on an arrest that his character, Fin, made 23 years ago,” McClain shares. “Fin ends up taking the lead [in] helping a man named Dutch [played by MAYANS M.C. star Richard Cabral] find the man who raped him in prison. So it’s an interesting story. I’m excited to see how it all comes out.” Read more

Captain Mike Duarte (Maurice Compte) returns on the Thursday, January 5 episode of LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT—but it’s under pretty awful circumstances.

Months after he and the SVU squad worked together on a rape case with ties to Bx9, a few members of the notorious gang target Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay)—at home, in front of her son. Naturally, Duarte—who is in charge of the Bronx gang unit—is called in to get to the bottom of the crime.

Couch Madness Final Round: ‘Closure’ (Group 1)

Comments Off on Couch Madness Final Round: ‘Closure’ (Group 1)

In honor of the NCAA tournament season, Give Me My Remote is bringing back our TV-centric bracket, pitting similarly titled episodes against each other: Couch Madness! (Credit for the excellent name goes fellow reporter Chris Hayner.)

The seeding is simple: rather than quality of the hour, we’re going by air date (with the oldest episode getting the #1 slot and the newest getting #8). With Peak TV, this will not include every single show that has used this title; rather, we picked a selection from what was available.

It’s now the final round, which will run from Thursday, March 31 through Tuesday, April 5.

Next up? “Closure.” And with this title we’re doing something different: There are enough shows for two separate brackets. So keep reading for the first bracket, episode descriptions (from IMDB), and the poll. (For the other episodes competing, check out all the brackets here!) Read more
