THE WALKING DEAD is undergoing a number of big changes as it heads into its ninth season.

In addition to new showrunner Angela Kang, the upcoming year will also see the exits of series stars Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan. (Cohan won’t be off television for long, though: her new series, WHISKEY CAVALIER, is coming to ABC in 2019.)

But before they depart, there’s still mayhem (and zombies) ahead. Check out some THE WALKING DEAD season 9 premiere photos!

THE WALKING DEAD’s Jon Bernthal has joined DAREDEVIL season 2, Marvel announced. Bernthal will play Frank Castle, AKA The Punisher. Per Marvel, The Punisher “is a vigilante who aims to clean up New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen by any means necessary, no matter how lethal the results.”

“Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences,” said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television, in a statement. “Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.”

DAREDEVIL season 2 will be released on Netflix in 2016.

TWD Companion UnitAMC has picked up THE WALKING DEAD Los Angeles-based companion series for two seasons, the network announced. (And you can get your first look at the still-untitled show’s first episode in the photo to the left.)

Here’s what AMC had to say…

“AMC today announced that it has placed an initial two-season order for a companion series to “The Walking Dead,” the #1 show on television among adults 18-49 for going on three seasons.

The new series (title to be announced) will be set in Los Angeles and focused on new characters and storylines. The show’s first season will consist of six one-hour episodes and premiere on AMC in late summer. The show’s second season will air in 2016.

AMC announced that BETTER CALL SAUL will launch with a two-night series premiere on February 8th and 9th at 10 PM. (The February 8th installment will be after the mideason of THE WALKING DEAD, and preempt THE WALKING DEAD’s live after show, TALKING DEAD, until 11 PM.) The series will continue to air Mondays at 10 PM for the remainder of its 10-episode first season.

Additionally, the final season of MAD MEN will launch on Sunday, April 5th at 10 PM, for its final seven episodes.

We’re only a few days away from THE WALKING DEAD’s fifth season premiere, but AMC has made the move to renew the show for a sixth season.

“We could not be more excited for October 12th as we share new episodes of THE WALKING DEAD with fans around the globe,” said AMC President Charlie Collier in a statement. “In advance of Sunday’s season five premiere, AMC proudly confirms a sixth season order of this extraordinary series.
