August 13, 2009 by

This week Dan and I give credit where credit is due and thank a ton of our listeners for following us on Twitter, iTunes and for leaving comments on our site.

What else is on tap you ask? FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS spoilers, TRUE BLOOD, TWILIGHT, BIG BROTHER 11, AMERICA’S BEST DANCE CREW, NURSE JACKIE, ENTOURAGE, WAREHOUSE 13, NYC PREP, BETTER OFF TED, TOP CHEF MASTERS and VEGAS, MAD MEN Season 3, WEEDS, the GLEE Tour, MY SO CALLED LIFE, FELICITY, GREEK and even a tribute to one of our childhood heroes, John Hughes.

We’ve also got a special segment this week that you’ll definitely want to participate in. Can you guess which TV Characters We Hated But Ended Up Loving?

Is it possible for two people to talk almost 2 hours about nothing but TV? I guess so…

Goderich on True Blood has raised that show to a new level.

So, gonna be “live blogging” my responses to this podcast, because I just had to make a comment when I’m only 2 minutes in… Dan the kyool comment? Hilarious, and so so dirty!! (so at least one person got your comment!)

(and in case Kath forgets, I’ve been a follower of the site since the WWK live chat row 1 days, so been a lurker for a while… )

OK, hating the fact that Tyra isn’t gonna be in FNL this season, I love Tyra and most especially Tyra with Landry. Tyra blew me away last season, so I will really miss her.

KB discussion – I may not have a letter from KBell, but I do have various emails from Francis Capra… so nerrrr… (lol I’m just so, so jealous because I would love to meet KBell)

So, so glad that you admit to Twilight being badly written, I had been getting really worried about the twilight obsession. I haven’t seen the movie, and refuse to because I just dislike it all (I couldn’t even finish book 3). I’m not so much a hater, but want to show you a great t-shirt on jinx.com http://www.jinx.com/women/shirts/geek/buffy_staked_edward_womens.html?catid=1&cs=19&csd=buffy I love this t-shirt. And yes my vampire obsession probably goes back to the count on sesames street too! (sorry that this will be a really long conversation comment)

True Blood – I also nearly threw up when Marianne with the heart. I was gutted for poor Jessica in that moment, and I thought it was genius! and Woo!! Naked Eric! (I’m such an Eric girl!) As for vampire deaths – stakes, fire and sunlight are all death things. Think beheading also is. (and this is from books, not tv necessarily)

sorry, skipped ABDC and Nurse Jackie… because I don’t watch them. Sorry guys.

I really enjoyed Entourage this week. Mark Wahlberg was really bad at being “himself” but I kind of really enjoyed the fact that it came out of character a bit, because he really seemed to enjoy being with these guys that he’s the exec producer of.. there were some moments with him and Drama that really made me giggle. Because I’m British, I’m not too sure who Tom Brady is, but he was great too.

I know you guys aren’t watching Weeds, but I have to say Alexander Gould (nemo) has become an amazing actor, and it’s really noticeable this season. I’ve been really enjoying watching him develop as an actor (and no, not in jailbait way!)

Please don’t kill yourselves when SYTYCD restarts – I don’t want you two to burn out, I love you guys too much.

It was great to hear you guys talk about My So Called Life. This was the tv show I can remember actually started my initial TV obsessions. I have the DVD here, and I’ve just shown the pilot to my 17 year old best friend, because to me it was the most honest and real portrayal of being a teenager I’ve ever seen and it is a must see for anyone who loves TV. And I love Jordan Catalano – and Jared Leto is a figment of the worlds imagination, because whenever I look at him all I can see is Jordan!

I’m struggling with thinking of characters I didn’t like to begin with that I grew to love. Sheldon from BBT is probably one. About half way through season 1 I went from not getting him at all, to growing to love him totally. And he’s grown to one of my favourite characters of all time. And the only other one, is a way old one… Spike from Buffy. Season 2 Spike? The best villain, and I hated him – however I became a huge Buffy / Spike fan in later seasons.

Thanks Guys for another really good podcast, and sorry my comments have been hugely long, but I really wanted to “join” in the conversations you guys have. I need to check out the John Hughes movies – I was a little young to check this movies out at the times they came out, my “growing up” movies were the back to the future movies, teenwolf (yeah, I had a big thing for Mr Fox), the Bill and Ted / Waynes World Movies and Empire Records, which is still my favourite movie of all time. Thanks for all you do, and I’ll try not to waffle in comments in future!
