What to Watch…Monday, January 28, 2008

January 28, 2008 by

With George W. taking over the primetime airwaves tonight there’s less than usual to watch. Not all hope is lost, there’s still a few original shows to check out. Take a look…

Gossip Girl Revealed | 8pm on The CW | Special
The series pilot airs, along with bonus features including cast interviews and commentary; deleted scenes; and profiles of the characters. Also: information on the fashion and music seen and heard on the show. Fore more click here: Play Catch Up With Gossip Girl

Kyle XY | 8pm on ABC Family
“Great Expectations”
Kyle and Amanda’s relationship hits a period of uncertainty after she makes a surprise visit home, but is uncharacteristically cagey about the reason why. Meanwhile, Jessi loses her patience with Kyle when he keeps putting off her training sessions.

Masterpiece Theater | 8pm on PBS
“Mansfield Park”
Billie Piper (“Doctor Who”) stars in this adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Mansfield Park” as Fanny Price, a young woman from a poor background who has been raised by her wealthy uncle and aunt.

I’ll also be watching….

The Office | 10pm on NBC (repeat)
“Local Ad”
When the Scranton office is tapped to appear in a commercial, entertainer wannabe Michael sees a prime chance to display his creative talent. Meanwhile, Dwight delves into an Internet-based virtual world.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer | On DVD (Confessions of a BUFFY Newbie)
BuffyWith all my travel I thought I would have had more time to catch up on Season 2 of BUFFY but sadly that hasn’t been the case. I am 8 episodes into Season 2 and I can say that I do really like it. I feel like it’s a lot more mature than season 1 and a but darker. I just met Spike and I really have no clue how he’s going to transform from this sick and evil dude into Buffy’s love interest (and don’t tell me!!!) I’m going to take on two episodes tonight. I’d like to me done with season 3 by the end of next week (but I doubt it)

Season 2, Episode 9: What’s My Line?: Part 1
Its “Career Week” at Sunnydale High and Buffy is faced with the reality that she has no future apart from that of a Slayer. Meanwhile, Spike sends four deadly assassins to ensure the Slayer has no future at all.

Season 2, Episode 10: What’s My Line?: Part 2
The girl who attacked Buffy turns out to be no vampire but another slayer, Kendra, who assumed her duty while Buffy was drowned dead for a minute and works far more by the book Buffy ignored even to exist. Angel fears to die as the rising sun reaches into his holding place, but is dragged out in time by snitch Willy, only to be sold to Spike, who needs Drusilla’s sire to revitalize her in a demonic ritual in an abandoned church which will kill Angel, and allows her first to enjoy torturing the shirtless hunk with holy water. Helping Cordelia escape the maggot-made Taraka order-killer makes Xander spike their formally continuing hatred with hot kisses, twice, a female killer fails to kill Buffy as police recruiter on career day…

What will YOU be watching tonight?

Be my Friend? As always, GMMR’s daily “What to Watch” is powered by MeeVee’s interactive TV listings. I’ve just registered over at MeeVee but I don’t have a lot of friends to talk TV with over there. And with all of MeeVee’s TV content, there’s a LOT to talk about!! Will you register and add me as your friend? (username: GMMR). Thanks!!!

Ooh you are getting to really good episodes. I think, while I enjoyed the ones before it, that arc really got me hooked. Enjoy!

    My message got cut off!
Love him and you should listen to him sing in real life, it’s great. On a side note…I’m out in Los Angeles right now working at Reveille at Universal, so if you ever need help with anything you’re participating in, doing, etc out here let me know. I would be more than happy to help! 🙂
