Two more were sent home on tonight’s episode of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. As I’ve said before, it’s so difficult to send dancers home this early because many of them have not really had the opportunity to show America what they’re truly capable of. But the rules are the rules. The couples with the least amount of votes, dancing for their lives were:
Pashi & Jessi
Huh, um what? Uh, I was just wondering what routine the rest of America was watching last night because what I saw I thought was brilliant. This vote makes me nervous for them in the future as they clearly don’t have the popular vote.
Jimmy & Shauna
Not surprised by the one. Although the judges praised their routine it was one of the least polished of last night’s dances. That coupled with the fact that the judges weren’t ecstatic about their routine last week made them a decent choice for the bottom three.
Faina & Cedric
One again, no big surprise here. It was clear that although Faina performed well, Cedric really disappointed the judges. Nigel made sure he knew it tonight as he took the time to single out Cedric and let him know just how much he disliked his performance. But here is what irked me last night and tonight about Nigel’s comments. Last week Nigel went out of the way to applaud Cedric on his partnering skills and apologized for comments he made earlier about Cedric possibly letting his partner down. After last night’s performance Nigel acted like last week never happened. He went as far as to say that perhaps Cedric let Faina down last week as well. I was really disappointed that Nigel would be so quick to pull out the “I told you so card” when he was clearly contradicting himself. I lost a little respect for Nigel as a judge tonight.
So all six dancers took to the stage for their solos, and in the end it was….
Faina and Jimmy that went home.
Yes, Nigel and Mia supported Cedric uniqueness while Mary wanted the talented Jimmy to stay. Tough call. Cedric’s solo was amazing, but will he have enough to support Shauna as a partner next week or will his lack of skills in other genres leave her dancing for her life again.
As for Faina, unfortunately it was a rock and a hard place. I had pegged Shauna to go home, but her solo was fantastic and she deserved to stay.

I was SHOCKED to see Pasha & Jesse in the bottom 3! WTF? I love Jesse. Her solo tonight was lacking. Very disapointing. Shauna deserved to stay – her solo was magnificent! I was pretty over Faina so no tears there. I am sorry to see Jimmy go. But Cedric’s solo was great and based on that alone, he deserved to stay. This show is going to be a killer. I doubt we will see any couple suck going forward. I have to say I voted for Sabra and Dominic because they were just well – great!
i am really thankful that you post what you think about it. nice observations… i really love jimmy, but i guess people don’t like to vote for him. 🙁
I also was schocked that Pasha and Jessi were in the bottom three. I didn’t think they’d have to worry about being sent home, since all three judges seemed to agree that tbey didn’t belong there, but they do need to up their solos, especially if they do make it to the Top 10.
I was very sad to see Jimmy go. I still can’t figure out Nigel’s thinking on that. He didn’t want Cedric in the Top 20 and won’t support him again if he’s in the bottom three, but he’s still willing to cut Jimmy. Huh? Essentially, he told Cedric if he’s in the bottom three next week, he’s out. And poor Jimmy just got stuck in the middle of the whole thing.
Two points.
One, anyone else notice during Jesse’s solo they cut away to an audience shot for an oddly long time? I think she flashed a boob and/or did something uncomfortably suggestive. She’s been playing up the sex from day one and I suspect that’s what Nigel was reffering to when he vehemently slagged her solo. I’m not sold on this bird.
Two, for those who’ve still got the show on their tivos, do yourself a favor and watch Cedric’s entire solo in slo mo. You can thank me later.

Jesse’s solo last night was horrible.
She won’t make it another round or two is she doesn’t bring a more approachable, clean, and skilled dance to the table.
Jessi was an amazing dancer something must have been wrong with her health. She mus have been a liability. It was too weird how she left. Her solo was better than the other girls by far! I think the judges have made many mistakes already. Jesus was incredible he should not have went home.
