Here’s how it works. The three couples with the lowest votes get once last chance to impress the judges as they Dance for their Lives in a short solo number. The judges then deliberate and send one guy and one girl home.
Dancing for their lives tonight were:

The Guys: Dominic Sandoval, Ricky Palomino, Cedric Gardner
The Girls: Ashlee Langas, Sabra Johnson, Faina Savitch
In the end the judges decided to send home…(find out after the jump)
Ricky Palomino and Ashlee Langas

The two contemporary dancers, who just happened to be the early favorites of Mia Michaels, were both eliminated from the competition tonight.
I’m actually ok with both of them. As much as I enjoyed Ricky’s performances up until last night, I was glad he left in favor of keeping Dominic and Cedric. And for the ladies, while I was thinking that it was Faina’s swan song, she proved her talent in her solo where Ashlee didn’t step up like she needed to.
Bye Ricky and Ashlee!
UPDATE: How did I forget to mention the return of Benji Schwimmer?! Benji was adorable last night although I didn’t love his routine as much as I expected to. And what was with the ripping off of the pants to reveal with USA-inspired speedo. It did nothing for me, but of course I sill love Benji. Mad props to the director for not cutting to Lacey throughout Benji’s performance. It’s only going to benefit her to separate herself from her brother. See Benji’s performance from last night.
Also, how sick was Wade Robson’s opening number? It was well choreographed, well danced, and well directed. Watch it here.

These are definitely the two I would’ve picked. With that said, Cedric was giving me a BAD vibe tonight. He acted like it was ludicrous that he was in the bottom. Then when he was safe, he didn’t even turn around to wish the other two guys good luck. He just left. Was it just me or did you guys have NO IDEA which girl was who in the group number?!

Umm… are we not going to talk about Benji’s performance tonight? Ripping off his pants to reveal too tight American Flag undies?!

Benji was absolutely hilarious. It was great to see him dance again- although, i do like it better when he has a partner.
I’m soooo glad that Ricky is gone. He bothered me with his greasy hair. I thought Cedric was just really sad to be in the bottom 3, i don’t think he felt too good, i think he was just overcome by emotion.
I was hoping Faina would go along with him, but I’m not overly sad that Ashlee left. I just would have prefered Faina..

Who wants to bet that Benji ripping off his pants was a bet?

Thanks for posting the link to Benji’s dance…we had a horrible storm here last night, and my Diretv cut out right when Cat said “and now, ladies and gentlemen, Benji Schwimmer!”…I was so annoyed.
THANK YOU!!!!
(also…not sorry to see those two go…they were good, but eh, whatever!)

Have a safe trip back Kath! I liked Ricky’s dancing a lot but wasn’t too sad to see him go. That greasy hair was repulsive. My boy crush for the season might be Cedric, he’s adorable, is an amazing dancer and I love that he can’t quite believe he’s there. I’m still deciding on my girl crush…
