Who Went Home on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?

Happy 100th episode! I’m so excited! We’ve got the crew together and the party has already started. We’re in the theater and ready to go. I won’t be able to live blog the entire night but I’ll be checking in on your comments during this extra special edition of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE.
The Bench Dance. Hummingbird. Little Joey Potter dancing. All that and two people are going home.
Can you stand it?
UPDATES:
- Ok how sick was that montage?! I was getting a little teary eyed watching all the kids from yesterday.
- The bottom two girls are Kayla and Jeanette! WHAT?! Already a shocker!
- WHAT?! Jason and Brandon are in the bottom two? The top four dancers are in the bottom? America needs to be bitch-slapped!
- People, not even the bench dance can save this night. I can’t believe this.
- Rama Lama was AMAZING!!! How did I not know that Jailbait Ivan was in the routine! And Wade Robson?! I’m in heaven…or is it hell.
- The room is divided. I enjoyed Joey Potter’s song and dance. Others…not so much.
- Here we go. The girl going home tonight is Jeanette. Wow! The guy going home is (I can’t breathe right now)…Jason. Noooooooooooo!!
- I am devastated.
- Jason and Jeanette have been eliminated. This is a horrible night.

Opening number was fantastic! Loved the use of the mirrors. And Cat’s hair is fanTASTIC tonight!
Makes me sick. That Tyce number saved Melissa. And she needs to go home. If it saved Ade too I am gonna be sad.
So the two best dancers are in the bottom two. Go figure.
I’m with you, Patty. I think Melissa should be going home, but because she had a good number last night, she won’t be. Looks like it’s going to be at the expense of Jeanine, who is one of my favourites, so that makes me extra ticked. (Could be Kayla, but I doubt it).

At least maybe Brandon will go home which is one of mine I want gone. But I don’t want to pick a girl
I’ve been a fan of Brandon since day one, and thought he could win this. So I don’t want to pick a guy either!! Girls … I’m in shock. I love them both! I honestly thought it would be Melissa and Ade/Evan.
I will ALWAYS love the Bench dance! THAT is an emotional dance that doesn’t make me feel manipulated.
Ugh, I knew this would happen. And if Janette goes home, I will CRY. She is my favorite.
Oh no!!! Jason is our hometown boy! He goes to the same dance studio as my daughters. He just has to stay!!! I really hope he does not go home!

I’m with you, Kath. America needs a serious bitch-slap. I’m Canadian, so I couldn’t vote to save my favourite dancers (who, coincidentally, are ALL in the bottom!).

I want to know when they are going to do a tour with all the best dances no matter who danced them? All 5 seasons, all the best stuff.
Wow…this night is just not okay. I am so annoyed that the Tyce dance saved Ade and Melissa. I did have the thought today though that the dance might actually have been better with Jason and Kayla dancing it!
No offense to Ade and Melissa, but I honestly think that “the dance” would have been fantastic with any of the Top 8.
Okay – who was in the Rama Lama dance? I recognized Wade and that’s about it. I’m getting old….sigh !
Ramalama was awesome … it’s new to me, and I didn’t recognize anyone but Wade either, so it must be from an earlier season (?), or maybe very early last year? Is Katie Holmes singing live, or just dancing and lip syncing?

I am fairly certain she was lip syncing. And it was definitely taped somewhere else. That wasn’t even the SYTYCD stage.
Was that Mark in the Katie Holmes dance? I love that boy ! Joshua was great too 🙂

OH! I love me my Brandon, but Jason? That’s just not right at ALL. I am fairly certain the votes were not counted correctly. Something has gone wrong.

Janette was the most consistent dancer. She was pretty much the only person that got it right pretty much all the time. I’m sure that if America hadn’t be manipulated by the breast cancer dance, Melissa would be going home right now.
Also? I don’t get why Kayla keeps getting. I’m not a fan of her either.
I wanted Jeanette to win, and I thought Jason was the best guy last night. I am not pleased… of course, I didn’t *vote*, so…
Very sad about the bottom 4 – I think all 4 should have been reversed. I LOVED seeing the old routines again, and I think they should have used Katie Holmes air time to redo The Garden or Allison & Ivan with the umbrella, or Sabra & Neil with the table, or Sabra & Dominic, or Lacey & Danny’s samba, or……. pretty much anything besides that waste of 5 minutes they aired instead. (/rant over/)
I’m totally bummed that Jason is leaving. I never really connected with Jeanette so I’m kinda meh about her, but Jason leaving totally sucks.
I was pretty underwhelmed by the show tonight. They should have included more of the past dances, like Allison and Ivan’s ‘Why’, instead of the Katie Holmes waste of space dance.
apparently i am the only person who is so ready to see janette go. i have been ready for weeks! she is a good performer but where’s the technique ? kayla is flawless- don’t know how she was in the bottom. and i am really disappointed about the boys result.
also, i was not impressed with katie holmes’ lip syncing and beginner dance moves.
I agree that Janette going home is wrong – she was consistently amazing in all of the styles, which I thought was very impressive considering that she’s a salsa dancer. And, I like her personality most of all the girls.
This sucked! Melissa should have gotten the boot, her first dance wasn’t good and the 2nd was perfectly done but she has zero personality. Jeannete was my favorite, I guess I should have voted?! Wades dance was amazing, and even with all that make-up he had on he was still HOT……
I think Evan needed to go home. He’s improving, yes, but he’s not up to par with any of the other three. Brandon and Ade are both fabulous dancers. I don’t understand why people think Ade should go home. He’s consistantly done really well–sometimes even fabulously. Jason’s decent. He did well this week, yes, but I was quite underwhelmed with many of his other preformances. I would have preferred that Evan go home, but Jason was my second choice so I’m okay with that.
It sucked that Jeanette went home. I loved her. She was fabulous at everything she did. I think part of the problem this week was that the dances she got, while extremely impressive, weren’t the type that garner votes, the way Melissa’s and Jeanine’s were. However, although it may have been Melissa’s time to go home, I think she’s an excellent dancer and I don’t think it’s fair to say that America was “manipulated” by Tyce’s dance. Melissa did an absolutely wonderful job, as she has done with many earlier pieces. I’ll admit that there are some areas in which she has not as strong, but many of her dances have been really wonderful, but people don’t appreciate her style of dance as much, I think. She has more grace out on that floor than all the other dancers combined. The others are more powerful dancers, yes, but she’s got so much poise and I think that counts for a lot. I honestly don’t think any of the girls should have gone home. I know one of them had to, but they’re all so good!
The coming shows should be exciting–I’ve got no idea what’s going to happen!
My thoughts:
– Ms. Holmes was a real letdown. Good legs but let us see her using them.
– For all its cheesiness (which I kind of like), ‘One’ from A Chorus Line needs an honest to god bring down the house kick line. Without it, I felt cheated and the camerawork killed whatever else it might have had in charm.
– The big dances are never the same in reprise. Unfortunately, you can never see something again for the first time. Having said that I loved seeing them all again and especially seeing Wade dance in Rama Lama.
– I knew Melissa would be held over and with the moving performance she gave, I don’t begrudge it…I love Janette, though, and so was hoping for Kayla to go buh-bye. She’s a good dancer and no doubt lovely…just empty to me, no spark…she’s gone next week.
– I am so torn on the guys. I am one of those weird Evan fans. It is just that he is different, a throwback to the old musicals and we see so many contemporary dancers that in the end they all start to run together for me. With Evan, I feel like I’m voting for Donald O’Conner or Gene Kelly. I was worried about Brandon though as he’s my number one contempo guy.
The bottom 4 were my top 4 dancers! I can’t believe it! I wanted Melissa and Evan to go home but I knew after the cancer dance Melissa and Ade would be safe. I love me some Ade, but I think it’s time for Melissa to go. She’s not going to win it. And it’s just not fair that Evan got to stay! He’s less versatile than any of the other dancers. Ridiculous! My favorite girl went home and I’m pissed. America does need to be bitch slapped. WTH?!

they are gonna let loose on Evan next week I feel. he really really needed to go home. Are you people voting? If the phone numbers were posted I’d call from work, but I never know their numbers until after the voting is done. I wish it was like Dancing With the Stars where they have the same number every week. i understand why they don’t, but I just never get to participate. It was so wrong!
I know Kath is a fan of Jason, but he needed to go next week so one week early isn’t a bad thing for me. janette hasn’t made one wrong move all season. It’s so wrong. Just shows how strong all the girls are. I really like Jeanine better than Kayla. i hope it’s her and Brandon in the final
