Mimi Rogers Rumored to Replace Meredith Vieira on The View

For some reason, I have been really caught up in the rumors regarding Meredith Vieira’s replacement on The View.  I find this a bit odd because I only watch The View about 4 times a year (sorry but I can’t stand SJR).  Anyway, according to some recent reports, the first Mrs. Tom Cruise, Mimi Rogers, name has been thrown into The View co-host rumor mill. I guess I didn’t know what a big deal it was to sit next to Star Jones?  There seems to be a lot of buzz and speculation about this co-host position lately.  But Mimi Rogers?  Really?  I guess I just don’t see it.  And what about Mimi’s role as Meryl on The Loop.  I know the show is hurting in the ratings, but it’s not like it has been canceled or anything (plug: please watch The Loop, Thursdays @ 8pm on Fox – it’s funny as all hell). I figure there has to be something behind this rumor, because Mimi Rogers seems like a rather random name to be mentioned at this point in time.
