“The Office” Thursday on Give Me My Remote

August 10, 2006 by

It’s Thursday…which just happens to be my favorite day of the week. Ok, well I suppose Saturday & Sunday are a bit better, but on those days I can’t watch The Office. Well, I guess I technically can since I have them all on TiVo…but come on, you know what I mean.

Here’s what’s happening with those crazy Dunder Mifflinites:

Webisode #6 (“The Memo”) is live on NBC.com for your viewing pleasure. Remember in “Drug Testing” when Dwight asked Angela if she were on any kind of prescription drugs and she said “no”? Sista should reconsider, because I think a little Xanax in the morning would help settler her right down.

The always fabulous Brian Baumgartner (Kevin Malone), has updated his blog on TVGuide.com. Really, he’s Brian not Kevin…or God for that matter. Click here to check it out.

Steve Carell (Michael Scott) has been all over the tube lately promoting his critically acclaimed movie Little Miss Sunshine.

  • The CBS Early Show did a nice interview with Steve last week, click here to read the interview online or watch the clip.
  • Steve also appeared on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Steve chatted with Craig for three hilarious segments. Check out Part 1, Part 2, & Part 3.

My GMMR Hero of the Day is Tanster at OfficeTally.com (where everyday is The Office Thursday) for pointing me to this FANTASTIC Season 3 promo featuring Jim & Pam (it’s not new footage and there are no spoilers). I love it and watched it four times already this morning.

A little Office gossip for ya courtesy of Defamer.com & The Office LJ Community

Office sightings…the second one is inline with rumors that have been milling about for a while now. Are they true? Ah, who cares…

Was standing in line for tickets tonight (Aug. 8, 7p) on Melrose at the Improv when who should emerge from a car in the valet line but The Office’s Jenna Fischer. She’s way prettier and hipper-looking than Pam. Didn’t see her in the club, so maybe she was just there to exchange air kisses with the will-call line? Just kidding (about the air kisses)!

Saw “See You Next Tuesday” at the UCB Theater on Tuesday night (7-17-06); was sitting behind two of my fave actors from The Office: onscreen love interests and fellow scriptwriters BJ Novak (intern Ryan) and Mindy Kaling (clingy Indian girl Kelly). Life imitates art, I guess: Kelly was getting all ‘handsy’, and BJ demured, saying – I shit you not – “This is going to be all over Defamer, you know.” He went on to do a pretty funny standup set later that night.

Finally, Office-ianados have stepped up to support David Denman (Roy) in his efforts to raise money for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. But he is far from reaching his goal. Click the image below and donate what you can (even if it’s just a dollar) to support David.

In regards to Jim, Pam’s office promo, I wish they’d make more of an effort to support the clip montage with better music. I’m a film scoring major at Berklee and they’re trivializing a beautiful and unique relationship that hasn’t been portrayed on TV, with a cheezy, melodramatic, predictable piano passage that you could cut and paste and use for ANY TV romance. The artistry of the show should match the artistry of the music, or it’s just another TV show. I realize it’s only a promo, but people who don’t watch The Office aren’t seeing something innovative.

GMMR do you secretly work for NBC and you are just not telling us? You are a one woman PR machine.

GMMR – any updated on another interview with John Krasinski? I think you need to meet him. I know you always say you are such a fangirl, but really, you support John more than anyone else out there. I would think John’s “team” would be so excited for him to meet his most enthusiastic fan.

Plus maybe you could land one of those famous Krasinski hugs and rush back here to tell us what it was like.

that NBC video gave me the warm & fuzzies – thanks for linking it

Thanks for the nice note Jill. Unfortunately, I don’t have any news regarding another interview with Mr. Krasinski. I’ve emailed his publicist, but I haven’t heard back yet. I’m sure he is pretty busy these days so we’ll see. Since I’m going to be in LA at the end of the month, I inquired to both John’s PR people as well as Rainn’s about interviewing them in person. Fingers crossed, but I don’t typically have that kind of luck.

You know, I hope that John has come by this site once and only once. Maybe the day after my interview with he and Jenna launched. To think he stopped in with all my fangirl crushing…oy, I’d be so embarrased. But that’s the risk I am willing to take 🙂

More than anything else, the webisodes have really made me a Kevin fan. They’re such a great vehicle for him. Angela’s brilliant too, but he steals the show every time lately.

Such great content GMMR. Thanks. You really do make Thursday a nicer day. I hope you’re getting some kind of kickback from NBC, maybe some gift shop swag or something.

And that Season 3 promo was just brutal. In a good way.

You do such a great job, GMMR! I hope you get your dream. In the meantime, thanks for bringing fans one step closer to The Office. Do you have a banner or something we could post on our sites?

I was wondering if anyone knew what song is played in the beginning of the promo. I can’t find it!
