The Office Deleted Scenes & 2 Minute Video Recap

September 22, 2006 by

This is it…my last Office update of the week. I think it’s time to take a break and step away from the show. But before I could leave I had to let you know about a few goodies for you Officianados.

Deleted Scenes….
NBC.com has deleted scenes from last night’s episode. Per usual, the deleted scenes would have fit perfectly within the show. I would actually venture to say that had these deleted scenes been included, the show might have even been better. Especially the scene between Pam and Michael, because come on…we were all waiting for the awkward post breakup interaction. And I was kind of bummed that we didn’t hear about what was going on with Michael and Carol. Watch the clip and you will know.

The Two Minute Recap….
If you missed last nights episode, don’t fret. There are plenty of way to catch up. NBC.com is offering a great 2-minute recap of last night’s show. It’s actually pretty funny and I’ve watched it a few times already. (click on the link below & look for the link on the right side of The Office homepage at NBC.com.)

Ahhh! That 2-minute recap was great! I was laughing almost harder than when I saw the original episode last night. I can’t wait until I can download it on iTunes. And I am super excited that the iTunes video downloads have higher resolution than last season. (640X480 instead of the previous 320X240.) I really wish the deleted scenes would have had a Kevin talking head about not being able to play the wedding. Oh well, we know he’s sad about that.

I totally love (and agree with) Meredith. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I didn’t realize the two cities were so far away from each other. That makes me even sadder for Jim. ๐Ÿ™

I google-mapped the two branches, and the route crossed the George Washington Bridge, went through NYC and up the NE Thruway. Crap way to go. Pam should definitely use MapQuest.

The recap was awesome even if you’ve seen the episode. I got a kick out of it.

The deleted scenes, I agree, were great too. But I have mixed feelings about them. Those scenes are among the best parts of the S2 DVD. Now when S3 comes out in a year, these will seem repackaged, kind of like the webisodes on the DVD do.

Wonder if Scrantonicity will play the Vance-Lapin wedding…

Hopefully there are more even better deleted scenes that will be shown on the season 3 dvd.

Hey, you never have to apologize to me for “Office” posts. I have to admit that they’re what brings me to this site!

I loved the 2-minute recap with the pretty music in the background and Dwight crying and then “False! I do not miss Jim,” and that pretty music just disappears.

I loved Brian’s comments : I google-mapped the two branches, and the route crossed the George Washington Bridge, went through NYC and up the NE Thruway. Crap way to go. Pam should definitely use MapQuest.

Thanks GMMR for all your postings on The Office and I don’t think you do too much! I can’t wait for next week!!!

my sister, a blog lurker, is asking me if Jim *knows* that Pam broke off the wedding?…anyone? Bueller? Thoughts?

  9. GMMR on September 22nd, 2006 4:51 pm

I am CONVINCED that Jim does know about the wedding. It’s not plausible that he doesn’t know. There is NO WAY Michael would keep that from him.

I wonder why they didn’t include the Jan/Michael scene so we would have known Michael and Carol were seeing each other (kind of). I’m sure it will come up at some other point anyway, though. I did like the deleted scenes and always wish the show could be longer. I think they need supersized episodes every week!

I love the Office posts. It is absolutely my favorite show and I love seeing how many other people are just as into it as I am.

I, for one, don’t think that Jim knows she broke it off with Roy. This is Michael we’re talking about. I really don’t think it would ever occur to Michael to let Jim know…especially since he’s got his own girl problems to deal with. Plus, no one in The Office knows about Jim’s confession (did any one else think that Dwight’s aside, “Jim never tells the truth,” was a wink at Jam fans?) so they don’t realize that he left because she shot him down. They probably think he left because of the promotion and to get away from Dwight.

The wonderful thing about these characters is that they are mostly so wrapped up in their own lives that they don’t even realize the other people around them. We do…but it takes a while before any of them do. That’s the fun.

Actually, there’s a possibility that Jim doesn’t know about the wedding because he left for Austraila (his planned trip when she was planning the wedding) on the wedding date. Though, Pam said that she got cold feet two days before. I think that he doesn’t know because doesn’t he get it on with the girl from Stamford this season according the episode.

I loved the whole Gaydar thing. Hilarious.

    beeble:

Jim actually left on Jun 8th – and the wedding was scheduled for June 10th.

Only reason I paid so much attention to the dates is because they are right around my birthday ๐Ÿ™‚
