Rosie O’Donnell to Star in Nip/Tuck Spinoff

Rumors have been rampant over the past few days that Rosie O’Donnell was in negotiations with the creators of Nip/Tuck regarding a Nip/Tuck spinoff based on her recent guest appearance as the filthy rich Dawn Budge. Well get this, negotiations are over and this is happening. Rosie actually confirmed the news herself on her blog.
No word yet from the Rosie camp on what this means for her relatively new role as co-host of The View. Will she continue? She only signed a one year contract with The View, so I guess that remains to be scene. All I know is Kelly Ripa has set the bar high. Looks like being a daytime talk show host just isn’t enough anymore. I’m fully expecting Joy Behar to appear next month as an ‘Other’ on Lost. Mark my words.

I loved her performance as Dawn on N/T – and would like to see more of her on N/T – but not sure about an entire series.
I guess it would depend on how they handled it, and the rest of the cast.
