“Grey’s Anatomy’s” Ellen Pompeo Engaged

In the end it wasn’t McDreamy, McSteamy, or McVet that captured the heart of Meredith Grey, but Ellen Pompeo’s real life beau, record producer Chris Ivery.

Ivery proposed this past Friday (which was also Ellen’s 37th birthday) and presented his lady with a 3.5-carat emerald cut diamond. Not too shabby. The couple have yet to set a wedding date. Give ’em time…it’s only been 4 days.

Did you know that these two kids is that they grew up minutes away from one another, but didn’t meet until they both descended upon LA years later? Yup, for you Bostonians, Ellen grew up in Everett, MA (one town over from where yours truly grew up) and Chris descended from Revere, MA – right next door to Everett (you might have heard of Revere – Kelly’s Roast Beef, Iroc’s with purple lights cruising up and down the strip). You gotta love that whole ‘fate’ thing.

Best of luck to the couple. And for the sake of Mr. Ivery, here’s to hoping that Ellen is not nearly as annoying as Meredith!
