The Office Thursday on Give Me My Remote

December 7, 2006 by

NBC's The Office, The Office Thursday on Give Me My Remote

No Office this week (sigh)…
Jim and Pam, The Office, Benihana Christmas Sadly there is no new episode of The Office this week. I suggest that we all use this time off wisely and properly prepare for the one hour Christmas episode that will be airing next week. “A Benihana Christmas” has been rumored to be the best.episode.ever. So much so that they are airing the episode two weeks in a row. Best episode ever? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. I’m expecting to have the screener in my hands by the end of the week, so I’ll be sure to give you a sneak peek.

Michael Scott, The office, A Benihana ChristmasIf you are in need of an Office fix and just can’t wait until next week, you’re in luck. Yahoo has three preview clips of “A Benihana Christmas” Check ’em out now before Yahoo realizes they posted the clips a week too early and they take them down (Office clips at Yahoo)

And as always, OfficeTally.com has a comprehensive list of episode spoilers for you to check out if you are so inclined. (Office Tally)

Kate’s Blog…
There may not be a new episode, but that didn’t stop Kate Flannery from posting a new blog over at TV Guide. This week Kate blogs about how to deal with an Office-free night, the perfect holiday gifts for Office fans*, her visit to the Playboy Mansion (Creed went too…’nuff said – check out the pic). Did you all leave comments for Kate last week? She reads all the comments, so it’s a great way to let her know how much you appreciate the blog, and the show. (Kate’s Blog)

The Office at the Playboy Mansion

Taking with Conebone69…
The Office Stars on Conan O'Brien Conan O’Brien is by far my favorite late night talk show host, so I was extra excited this past week when he invited a few Office peeps on for a little chit chat. Last Friday, the hilarious Ed Helms stopped to talk about the show and sing a little Yanni (you have to see it for yourself). The stunning Angela Kinsey talked with Conan on Tuesday about bagels and her lady business – well, not her lady business, but yeah -just watch it. And finally last night, Rashida Jones was completely charming during her appearance with Conan. She had some great stories and truly LOL moments. (Ed Helms on Conan | Angela Kinsey on Conan | Rashida Jones on Conan) Thanks Ddker.

Ed Helms Returns to His Roots…
Ed Helms of The Office and The Daily ShowOffice newbie and fast favorite, Ed Helms, returned to where it all started this past week when he appeared as a guest corresponded on The Daily Show. I loved Ed on TDS, and it was nice to see him back. And how did he explain his absence to Jon Stewart? Well, according to Ed “‘shay eenbay undercoverway exposingway ethay eedysay
underbellyway ofway ethay Americanway orkplaceway. Ahay”
(Watch Ed on The Daily Show). Thanks Dangerskew!

Jenna Fischer: Good News/Bad News…
Speaking of my girl crush, Ms. Jenna Fischer was spotted at The Hollywood Reporter’s Annual Women in Entertainment breakfast. Here are a few pics from the event.

Jenna Fischer (2) Jenna Fischer

Also, I’ve received many emails asking about Jenna Fischer’s appearance on Rachel Ray. The show has not yet aired, and I’m not sure it will. Jenna’s appearance was fantastic, so I’m not sure what happened. I do know that episodes taped after Jenna’s appearance have already aired. I’ve emailed The Rachel Ray Show and haven’t heard back. My thought? Maybe Jenna and Rachel talked too much about Thanksgiving and the producers couldn’t edit their conversation enough for a post-Turkey day episode. I’ve asked Jenna about it and she doesn’t have any new news either. If I hear anything I will let you know.

Angela Kinsey is HOT…
It’s always amazing to see how The Office plays down the looks of the women on the show. Perfect example – Angela Kinsey. On the show – a harsher version of a Plain Jane. In real life – a bonafide hottie. Check out these pics (and a bonus of Angela, Merlora & Kate).

I also came across this picture with Angela and Warren Lieberstein. Warren is not only the brother of Paul Lieberstein (Toby)…the resemblance is uncanny, but he’s also the adorable husband of our very own Ms. Angela Kinsey. All together now… “It’s a small world after all”

The Office and YouTube…
youtube.jpg The Office got a little shout out in this week’s TV Guide Magazine in an article entitled “15 Things We’ve Learned from YouTube”.

John Krasinski is cool with being “Ok”
At a recent DVD signing, The Office star smiled graciously when fans yelled “You’re Hot”. But he really got a kick out of the girl who screamed “You’re Ok” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVJxN_yZKdM)

America Digs Montages
in YouTubeland, you’re not a true fan until you’ve spliced together a reel recapping (a) The Office love story; (b) Lost’s season to date; (c) McDreamy’s greatest hits.

Want to Talk to Rainn, Jenna or Paul?…
Toby, The Office The Young Storytellers Foundation is holding an “Skype-a-Celeb” auction in which the winner(s) get to chat with a celeb for 10 minutes. Here’s your chance to talk with Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer or Paul Lieberstein. Jenna had a strong lead among all the celebs, but was recently edged out by Veronica Mars star, Kristen Bell. I was leading the race for the chance to talk with Paul for awhile, but I’m not sure I can pony up the cash for a 10 minute phone call. I would need way more time if I ever had the chance to talk to a star/writer. Move fast, the auction ends on December 10th. (Skype-a-Celeb auction)

My John Krasinski Weekly Fix…
John krasinski in GQ, GiveMeMyRemote.com You know I couldn’t go a whole Office Thursday without any kind of mention of my Johnny K. So here’s where you can see (and hear) John Krasinski this week. John’s melodic, sultry, and distinctive voice (overkill? yeah, I thought so) can be heard on the December 10th episode of American Dad on Fox. (Thanks Tanster for the tip).

And if you want to see John on the big screen, he has small roles in Christopher Guests’ For Your Consideration (in theaters now) and The Holiday starring Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet, which opens Friday. I think John only has one scene in each film, but that’s enough for me to get my butt to the theater this weekend.

Been There, Done That…
Tim and Jim, the office The New Yorker has beaten the dead horse once again by comparing and contrasting the UK version of The Office to that of the one shown here in the US. Yawn. The article itself is actually an interesting read, but I just personally feel that this subject matter has been covered in full…many times over. (Read ‘The Paper Chase’)

Live Office Chat at BuddyTV?
I’m thinking we might take a break from the LIVE Office chat this week since there’s no ep to watch. However, we will DEFINTELY be back next week for the one hour XMas episode. More details about the chat as we get closer to next Thursday.

Love that cast picture GMMR and the playboy Mansion picture was a hoot. My new guilty pleasure is “The Girls Next Door”, the Heffner mansion reality show. Kind of a cross between The Osbournes and Newlyweds heee! ….. what? …. no I don’t.

Ah, I will so miss The Office tonight, better get out the season 2 DVD, speaking of things I miss. Thanks for the updates as always! Have a great weekend everyone!

Awww…I am so thankful for Office Thursday on GMMR every week, but especially when we don’t have an episode. Thank you so much 😉

Thanks GMMR, Office Thursday never disappoints.

Thanks for putting all the Conan interviews in one place for me. Alas, I’m getting too old stay awake long enough to get through all of Late Night. I did try to stay up to see Angela, but I only made it through 1/2 of Kevin Neilen’s interview.

It’s nice to see a picture of Angela holding a dog instead of a cat and she does look lovely in all the pics.

I was on the fence about going to see “The Holiday”, but I think you’ve just convinced me. 😉

I love that top picture GMMR- am I allowed to borrow it to put in my signature on the NBC Office boards? I will credit it- just thought I would ask. If you don’t want me too- its fine

Angela’s husband’s name is Warren. Do you think there is a chance she is married to Paul’s brother?

  7. Tori Weber on December 8th, 2006 6:00 am

I did a little digging around and I think she is married to Warren Lieberstein. Also, I think Warren and Paul’s sister, Susanne, is Greg Daniel’s wife.

    Good work Tori!

Warren is, indeed, Paul’s brother. I was friends with both of them in New York years ago. Both great guys and ridiculously funny!
