Jake Gylenhaal is a Dreamgirl on SNL

January 14, 2007 by

My undying gratitude goes to the first one who can send me a YouTube clip of Jake Gylenhaal’s opening monologue from last night’s Saturday Night Live. Because Oh. My. God. so funny!! For those of you who missed it, Jake (and his biceps) wanted to thank the “unique fan base” that were supportive of him during Brokeback Mountain, and so he did a rousing rendition of “And I’m Telling You…”. I just want to share it with others.

UPDATE: Thanks to Kari for passing this along.  You rock!!

    YES!!!
This is one of the only parts of last night’s SNL I saw, and being some sort of idiot I forgot to tape it, so I’m really glad that the Interweb exists because otherwise I might be sobbing gently.

I had to pause it about 4 times because I was laughing so hard I couldn’t take it. I’m going to have to start watchin SNL regularly again…its getting so damn good.

Jake was so funny and was so good. I did not like him before but after I watched him last night on SNL, I start to like him now.

I was pleasantly surprised w/ Jake’s performance on SNL last night. I was also surprised when he belted out that song! I was laughing so hard! He could actually carry a tune! I’ve been losing faith in SNL b/c i don’t think it’s been very funny, but i actually laughed at last night’s show so that’s always a good sign. I only watch SNL now if there’s a host i want to see or a musical guest i want to watch (uh, AFI the 20th for example :D). Overall, Jake was great!
