Holy Grey’s Anatomy – Great Expectations

January 26, 2007 by

It’s past midnight and I am in some SERIOUS need of sleep.  But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to talk about Grey’s Anatomy which was an ‘eh’ episode up until the last OMG 2 minutes. I wasn’t expecting that.  Were you?  From both of them? Let me know and we can chat more in the morning.

(Spoilers in the comments)

I didn’t see that coming. I’m like you GMMR and could care less about Burke and Christina, but I love George and Callie. I found it a little odd that they just got back together and he proposed, but I hope she says yes.

I’m not convinced that Callie is going to say yes right now, but SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT
    SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT
    SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT
    SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT
    SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

I heard that she ends up getting pregnant so I could see marriage in the future

    END SPOILER ALERT

Delurking to say that I was surprised at the choice to have both George and Burke propose tonight. I’m a straight guy and I think there is something oddly hot about Sandra Oh, but Christina? Yech. She is horrible.

I was completely taken by surprise, but Husband saw it coming…

I had heard there would be “a” proposal so I wasn’t expecting two! I figured it would be George but was really surprised by Burke. I also thought the Alex-Addison thing was a good twist, but I don’t think that’s the end of that, right???

For some reason the Burke proposal cracked me up.

I loved the rest of the episode…. Nazi Bailey has been truly missed! Glad she’s back…and she truly is the next Chief of Surgery…anyone in the interim is just a temporary fix. Except now, the Chief probably isn’t leaving!

When Burke proposed, I gasped. When George was talking to Callie I was sooo touched and thought OMG he’s amazing, but in the back of my head I was thinking, I hope they don’t make him propose. I was just happy to hear him say I love you. But when he got down on one knee … I wasn’t as surprised as with Burke. However, I wish he hadn’t, because I think it’s too soon and it’ll now mess up the relationship that they’ve finally seemed to fix.

Oh .. .and did anyone see the scenes from NEXT WEEK!!! It looks amazing! It’s gonna be another one of those bomb/train wreck episodes, but better! 😀

Let’s check the Grey’s timeline here and then lets discuss whether or not it’s a good decision to get married. It’s supposedly still their first year at Seattle Grace which means that Callie and George have been dating less than a year. Given the hyper-reality and the situation of grieving he’s been thrown into don’t you think it’s a little rushed? Come on guys. I love George, LOVE GEORGE and CALLIE but this might not be the best thing.

As for Burke and Christina I hope he’s got a good insurance policy and that’s why she might marry him because HE MUST DIE before too long. Cha-Ching Yang is what I’m calling her.

If this was Battlestar I’d say BOX BURKE!

I sadly was spoiled about the two proposals. I didn’t know who it was coming from but I knew there would be two. I figured one of them would be George/Callie so the other one had to be Burke/Cristina or Meredith/McDreamy.

I agree with Ducky that proposing to your girlfriend after the recent death of your father, which incidentally you haven’t grieved yet, is a little nuts.

I also believe proposing to a girlfriend that you gave the silent treatment for weeks is also not such a hot idea.

    Just sayin.

I’m much more intrigued for next week’s dropping like flies storyline.

Christina is totally going to say no and “Burke” is going to go to “Africa” to find himself (aka unemployment line)

Ok I can’t believe I’m posting but… I’m in a bad mood and this is making me feel better. I think that:

    Christina will say Yes

and that Callie will say No.

putting in my official two cents!

Also, I did see it coming… not coming from way back in the episode, but as soon as George started his little speech, I was like “oh good lord, two proposals?” It seems unlikely to me that there will be two yesses (Yes’s? Yes’?)

well me, i love burke and christina and if they kill him i am not watching at all. As for George, i hate his character, cant stand him, but loved what he said to callie, and then he proposes, that was awful
