The Office Thursday on Give Me My Remote

The Office

You know how it KILLS me to have a short edition of The Office Thursday, but until I marry a wealthy man that can make blogging my full time job, sometimes I just have to work. Wah wah 🙁 But small doesn’t mean bad (That’s what she said) and there’s a lot of Office gossip to share so let’s get to it.

LIVE Office Chat TONIGHT…
The Office Chat
Tonight we will be chatting up before, during and after the show at our weekly Office chat over at BuddyTV.com. I’m going to be stuck out here on the West Coast but we are still having our chat. We usually get started around 8pm/EST so make sure you swing by and say hi. Stop by once and you’ll never be able to watch the show without your online friends again. Click here to set a reminder for the Office chat.

Super-supersized Finale
Jim and Pam, Casino Night OfficeTally.com has received confirmation that The Office will get a full one hour season finale this year. Greg Daniels and Co. blew our socks off with their 40 minute finale last season, so I can’t imagine what goodies they have in store for us this May. I’m begging you…please don’t leave us with another Jim and Pam cliffhanger! My heart just couldn’t take it again. Besides – been there, done that.

Tonight on The Office…
Michael Scott“Business School” (8:30 EST)
Michael is invited to be a guest speaker at Ryan’s business school. Back at the office, Dwight goes batty trying to catch a bat, and Pam invites her colleagues to her first art exhibit. This is the episode that Joss Whedon directed.

Uh,thank you…SPOILER ALERT …
There are so many clips out there for tonight’s show that I don’t know why some of you even bother to watch the episode. Ha ha, just kidding. Well, I’m patting myself on the back as I’ve remained relatively spoiler free. I did watch the Joss Whedon clips, but other than that I’ve avoided them. You know it hates me to tempt you like this, but it’s what I do. Click on the clips below to watch:

More Office Thursday after the jump

From the desk of Meredith Palmer…
Kate Flannery (Meredith Palmer) on The OfficeAfter taking a break last week, Kate Flannery is back with her weekly blog over at TVGuide.com. This week Kate gets a little personal and talks about the things us girly girl love: hair, makeup, and horse racing. Well, some girls like horse racing, right? She teases us that tonight features what she think is Jenna and Steve’s best scene to date. That’s a pretty tall order considering some of the doozies those two have shared. I can’t wait. (Kate’s Blog)

Team Rashida NOT Team Karen…
Rashida Jones I remember vividly the day I found out that Rashida Jones was cast as Jim’s new love interest. It was like a black cloud followed me around all day. Just thinking about it made me sad. Oh how times have changed. Nowadays I’m Team Rashida all the way. Hell, I even find myself wanting her to be dating JKras again (wait, did I just type that…who are you and what did you do with GMMR?!). While I’m counting the days until Karen leaves Dunder Mifflin, I hate the idea of Rashida leaving. Need more convincing? Check out this great article about Rashida in this week’s EW. (Rashida Jones: Paper Doll)

TiVo ALERT – Rainn Wilson on SNL on Feb 24th
Rainn Wilson to Host SNLAs I reported last week, our very own Rainn Wilson will be hosting SNL on Feb. 24th. I can’t wait to see this episode. It’s going to be brilliant…just brilliant. It’s going to be a blast to see Rainn play so many different characters. Let’s hope he gets a digital short along side Samberg. Personally, I’m going to be counting to see how many times to inadvertently looks into the camera. Some habits are just hard to break. We love it!!

Stalking John Krasinski…
John Krasinski, Jim Halpert on The OfficeNo I’m not the one doing the stalking (shocker). The kind people of Greenville, SC are doing it for me. John will be in town over the next few months shooting Leatherheads. With a big movie star like John in town the people in Greenville are going a little Leatherheads crazy. They are even tracking the comings and goings of John’s lesser known co-stars (someone named Clooney and some chick named Renee Zel-something have been spotted around town). Well if you are like me and want the latest and greatest news on Leatherheads, check out this blog.

The Office Video of the Week…
This one comes from Mozart’s Friend. I just LOVE the background music since it comes from one of the my favorite movies of all time, Love Actually.

Love The Office…Wear The Office…
Weekly pimpage alert – Make sure you check out the all The Office inspired stuff within the GMMR Online Store. We are always adding new items such as magnets, stickers, mugs, etc so check it out. (The Office t-shirts and more at the GMMR store)

Rashida and John would have the cutest babies. They should so get back together. Ok, not really. But I am definitely Team Rashida. Although, I don’t know who she’s competing with.

I’m hoping for a Booze Cruise moment between Michael and Pam, but after last week, my expectations are pretty low.

  2. Melody on February 15th, 2007 1:43 pm

    Hurray, Office Thursday!

Isn’t Rainn hosting SNL next weekend, and not this weekend, though? The 24th?

I love the good people of South Carolina. A large part of a movie (“Elizabethtown”) was filmed in my hometown a couple of years go. The city went crazy with excitement. There were daily reports in the newspaper of, “Orlando Bloom spotted at Whole Foods!” and “Kirsten Dunst seen eating at this restaurant!” This sort of attitude works out very well for us.

I really want to play Scrabble with Rashida. I was furious when she was cast, and she’s turned that into being tied with Jenna Fischer for my #1 girlcrush. That is impressive work, Rashida Jones.

Ahhh crap, Elisabeth beat me to first comment this week 🙁

And yet another great The Office Thursday.

I’m looking forward to tonight’s episode, though, *tear* after tonight we only have 7 more episodes until NEXT SEPTEMBER!

How great is it going to be when Michael tells Pam why Jim left? It’s only a matter of time Officianados!

  4. Jim Mosby on February 15th, 2007 1:45 pm

Ahhh crap and Melody beat me to #2, yet another reason Elisabeth and I got divorced 😉

  5. GMMR on February 15th, 2007 1:46 pm

I”m glad to see you guys commenting. Even those it’s a shorter than usual post, it still takes time to pull it all together. As I always say, comments are currency.

  6. Jenny on February 15th, 2007 1:46 pm

Can’t wait for tonight! But FYI – Rainn is hosting SNL Feb 24th – so that’s next weekend. I got all excited for a minute. 🙂

  7. Jim Mosby on February 15th, 2007 1:48 pm

I’m lame for not commenting more though I always read. It makes NO sense as I’m such a comment whore myself, I think I check my recaps way too often to read comments people leave.

  8. GMMR on February 15th, 2007 1:48 pm

Yes sorry about that…i guess I got overly excited about it. The post has been fixed!!

  9. Sam on February 15th, 2007 2:01 pm

Hey, GMMR, I don’t comment often, but I always come to read your Office Thursdays. In fact, GMMR is part of my daily ritual. Anyway, thanks for all of your hard work, good luck with your new job, and as always, have a great time watching the best show on television tonight!

  10. Becky on February 15th, 2007 2:06 pm

Thank you! I’ve been waiting all morning for your Office Thursday! (I don’t like you being on west coast time.) You’d be so proud of me! This is the first week I’ve gone spoiler-free (other than the Joss clip). Let’s hope Michael is not such an ass this week. I was really turned off by him at the wedding. I doubt it will happen though considering he’ll be speaking in front of a crowd- his favorite place to be.

  11. Becky J on February 15th, 2007 2:08 pm

Oops. I meant to put my initial with my name as well for my above post. I know there’s another Becky that posts. Sorry for the confusion, other Becky. GO JAM!!

  12. amanda on February 15th, 2007 2:11 pm

Don’t know if it’s true, but I hear that it’s Dwight’s birthday today. If so, Happy Birthday Mr. Schrute!

  13. Tori Weber on February 15th, 2007 2:45 pm

I need to look for the link again, but I saw this morning on an entertainment blog that she was spotted in South Carolina with him and it looked like they were giving it another try.

I think she is very cute and I wish there was a way for Karen to stay and have her own story lines. I know it won’t work, but I like her character.

  14. Jo on February 15th, 2007 2:52 pm

anyone who blogs, ever, is a comment ho. it happens. hahaha

I am counting down to Rainn on SNL. I’m hoping they’ve snuck more of the Office cast into the show too, but solo he’ll rock it.

That’s a great youtube video. good music.

  15. kelli on February 15th, 2007 3:15 pm

i’m with you all the way on rainn having a digital short with samberg. let’s keep our fingers crossed! 🙂

  16. Becky (other Becky) on February 15th, 2007 3:21 pm

I did see the post up there for Becky and thought – did I do that? – which is said that it’s possible for me to have done it and forgot.

I loved the clip. Love Office Thursday on GMMR!!!

I also check out this site several times a day even though I don’t comment – so sorry about that. 😉

  17. Lauren (GeekCheek) on February 15th, 2007 3:28 pm

Word on the street has it that last night Samberg promised the Arcade Fire that they would be “musical guesting” on the 24th. Rainn Wilson AND the Arcade Fire. That seriously might be worth standing outside in the cold for!!

  18. mg714 on February 15th, 2007 3:36 pm

Thanks for the news as always, GMMR! I can’t believe there are only 8 more episodes left (including tonight’s) – they really need to make all of the rest of the episodes an hour long (not just the finale 😉 ). I’m really looking forward to the Michael/Pam scene tonight – and to find out the aftermath of Pam and Roy going home together!

    I love Office Thursday! 🙂

  19. Mandy on February 15th, 2007 3:46 pm

I wonder if we could get the network to supersize every episode of The Office to an hour???

Love Actually is also one of my favorite movies. Anything with Hugh Grant and Collin Firth is great in my book.

  20. MJ on February 15th, 2007 3:51 pm

    That’s what she said!

  21. katie on February 15th, 2007 4:02 pm

Kath, I love GMMR and this is my first comment- woot! I usually binge on spoilers and last week I felt like I didn’t enjoy Phyllis’ Wedding as much since I’d already seen half of it before it aired. So this week like you I was able to stay strong and all I’ve seen is the short Joss Whedon promo. I am SO psyched for tonights episode. It looks like it’s going to be one of the funniest ever.
    Happy TWSS day!

  22. CrazyGringa on February 15th, 2007 5:48 pm

Whoa, I too have only seen the Joss Promo. I think I overdid it last week when I watched ALL the promos. I’m going to try not to do that anymore.

    Thanks for Office Thursdays, GMMR!!!!

  23. Christy on February 15th, 2007 6:19 pm

I watched the Joss promo too..the show looks so great! I can’t wait. I certainly check for recaps way too much and I am on west coast time….for example last night when I checked the Lost recap was up and I have not seen it yet. I praise myself for having the willpower not to read it until the show was over!

  24. HealthcareHottie on February 15th, 2007 7:25 pm

I thought the preview clips this week did a good job of not giving away too much of the show (I’m a spoiler whore, I can’t help myself). It looks to be one of the funniest of the season and I’m very excited to see the full episode.

As always, thanks for a great TOT GMMR.
