American Idol…WTF??

American Idol top 12

Ha ha America…we get it – you have all the control, but now let’s end this joke, shall we? I’m sorry but if you have two working ears and you aren’t a member of Sanjaya’s family then you have NO business voting for that guy.  You really think he has what it takes to be the next American Idol? Come on now.  I’m not saying Sundance Head was going to take home the big prize, but booting him in favor of Sanjaya?  That’s just B.S.  The other guy to go home was Jared Cotter.  I kind of liked him but I can see why he went home.

Things aren’t any better on the girls side.  Good thing Haley Scarnato will be again another week and the fantastic Sabrina Sloan is going home.  I honestly just don’t get it.  At least Antonella Barba is gone (although she should have been given the boot week one).

I really wish the teenyboppers and grannies would start voting for the best singers, and not the ones they find cute or look or have sympathy for.  These types of outcomes actually hurt the integrity of the show.

“A very disappointed” GMMR…out

Yeah, I wasn’t as nice in my post Kath! It’s gross how Sanjaya and Scarnato are still in the running. SICK!

I feared that a diva would go this week, just because there were four of them and the vote would get split. I was really worried that Antonella was going to stick around because Vote for the Worst was pulling for her (and Sundance)… But obviously that made no difference, and thank God Antonella is gone!!! I’m not really a big fan of Phil Stacey, he needs to go soon.

Haha – your headline captures my thoughts exactly!!

I was so mad with the results last night. I didn’t vote for Sanjaya or Haley. What is up with the rest of America??? C’mon people!!

Has all of America had lobotomies?
    Complete B.S. people!!!!!

This is not who I voted for. Where are you hiding voters? Are you embarrased to admit you voted for a girl-boy? Or is Vote for the Worst really that powerful. And if you Vote for the Worst, don’t you have anything better to do?

I can’t believe Sanjaya is still in it and I am so sad that Sabrina got kicked off. But I must admit that I am kinda glad that Sundance got the boot. I swear, if I had to look at his hairy chest hair peeking out of his shirt one more time, I would probably stab myself in the eye! (and his singing wasn’t that great)

OK, while I obviously do not think that in any way shape or form Sanjaya is a talented musician–this is part of idol. This is what they want to happen–you are supposed to watch and be shocked and headlines are suposed to be outraged about how is beating out who. Lets review: John Stevens of Season 3? Scott Savol of 4? Uhh—TAYLOR HICKS beating out Chris Daughtry? I suppose that Idol would lose some of its appeal if everything was predictable and we could draw out an easy 1-12 ranking of the best singers.

This being said, for the LOVE OF GOD can Sanjaya just go away?

Seriously, I wish we could vote against people. Sanjaya has absolutely no business being in the top 12. He nearly ruined John Mayer for me with his horrible rendition of “Waitin on the world to change” and I can’t believe that Haley is still on the show either. She is not good, I taped the show and had to fast forward through her singing Faith Hill’s “If my heart had wings” I thought it would never end. You all have to admit that Melinda deserves to win the competition, she has the best voice by far. I really like Lakisha, but strictly from a singing perspective, Melinda should win the competition. Also — love The Office set blog. How in the world did you score that awesome week?
